An absolute horrific experience. The hostess was rude and questioned how old my kids were. I said two kids, three adults. My one daughter just turned 9 and when I said she was 8, (oops), she said no. It wasn't going to change the price of the buffet, but this crazy hostess gets in my daughter's face and tells, HOW OLD ARE YOU? My daughter freezes, I tell the hostess to never speak to my child like that. She proceeds to call me a liar. Somehow, we stayed and I simply said to her to not speak or follow my kids around, (she was doing this as they were trying to get food). I said look charge me for four adults, I don't care but back off. To say we are never eating there again is an understatement. This was a sh*t show, literally if you've ever seen the movie bridesmaids its going to be like a recreation of the food poisoning in it. I walked in and I sat down and BOY BOY BOY it smelled like the sewer! The food was disgusting. I busted open a piece of General Tso's chicken and there was no chicken to be found... just a piece of black meat. The sushi was the worst I've ever had. The only way to eat the sushi was to douse it in soy sauce and you could only eat it like that if you love sodium. It tasted like lunch meat that was way beyond its expiration date. The calamari was literally like rubber, it was so gross I thought that maybe it was a shrunken flotation device. I raised my concerns to the owner and it went in one ear and out the other. Wow. All you can eat, great service and food. I've been here a few times and they have good variety, Even stuff for the kids. Vegetables, desserts, main dishes. I usually am reluctant to go to buffets because the quality is often very sketchy. You can always find a few good things but I was very surprised to find a large selection of good choices including sushi, fresh fruit and well prepared, flavorful entrees. The eggplant dish was as good as the Plum Blossoms! I would agree about the egg rolls and dumplings but they are not foods I choose to select in a buffet. For $5.99 for lunch how could you go wrong? This place is okay. We went here after finding out Teagans was closed permanently. The general tso's is low quality, the crab Rangoon and Mongolian beef were pretty good. If you order sweet tea beware that it will be raspberry tea. They do have crab legs and clams on the buffet and it only costs $11 sans a drink. read more

So for those who don't double check their bill when you cash out, I would look carefully. Twice now they have overcharged me and I caught them both times. Tonight I went there with my son. Tax is 8%. I looked at the bill and took out my phone's calculator. They overcharged me by 4 cents. Last time it was 3 cents. If they're secretly overcharging each customers few cents here and there, it adds up. So when I went to go pay my bill, I told the cashier that they overcharged me. She, with an attitude, told me it's only 4 cents. I don't care if it's a penny, you overcharged me and this is not the first time. She got angry, whoever she is, because I caught on to their game. I love this place! It has good food, a good selection. I have family with a variety of dietary needs and the selection allows us all to find a great selection no matter what our choices and needs. The staff are friendly and effective. I have never had a bad meal there. It's a great family restaurant, a good place for conversations and also for parties. Our first time dining at Super Buffet in East Greenbush, NY. Lots of free parking. Customers coming & going look happy. The parking lot actually had a funky smell, maybe because right next door is an outdoor kids playground with kiddie cars. And I saw some large empty plastic food containers in the grassy area between the two businesses. The diners are all bunched together ~ which I found odd. There's maybe 8-10 customers at 3pm on a Wedsay afternoon: Spread them out, why sit them together. Don't they trust customers ( dine & dash problems?). Buffet has lots to choose from. Not a sushi fan, but found lots of rice, chicken, mushrooms and desserts to chose from including tubs of ice cream. Drinks ( coffee, soda, etc) are extra. Ice water is free ~ you have to ask for it though. The used plates were cleaned off the table fairly quickly. I could have used a few more napkins. The refill on the coffee would have been nice, but I'm not about to be charged for two coffees. I would return, as there were actually a few more things I would try, but I just didn't have the room to taste the Pizza, clams, and oysters. read more

Went for the first time in a long while. We used to go on a regular basis but prefer the buffet in Schenectady. Was not bad. The food was fresh and hot, and the trays were refilled on a regular basis. Nowhere as busy as it used to be. No senior discount anymore. read more

Very overpriced for the quality. The food is left in the heaters for a long time and was not very fresh. Prices were not displayed and they charged adult prices for 11 and 13 year old children who didn't eat that much. Pesky service quick to take your plate while your still eating. If you constantly want to be bothered while you eating and having a conversation with friends and family this is the place for you. Will not be going back anytime soon. read more

Way too overpriced for the mediocre quality Chinese buffet. The food might be better if there were more foot traffic but otherwise the food just sits there getting old. We were there on a Saturday night and there were a handful of tables eating dinner. I've had plenty of buffet good and this was one of the worst I've had. Not recommended. read more

Subpar choices. Please someone teach these people to not hover while I am eating. Our family of three went there on Easter when in town for my husband's job interview. I love good Chinese and good buffets. Too bad this place was neither. The choices were subpar (can't recall any dish I liked at) and most of the things I tried were cold. I was afraid I would get food poisoning from the lukewarm or cold foods. I also dislike how the staff at Chinese buffets either hover around ready to whisk the plate out from under you (to hustle you along) or they stare at you and shake their heads as they take away the plates acting like you PURPOSELY wasted THEIR food. I am very sensitive not to waste food. I do not like to take huge portions. I can't eat cold food that is supposed to be piping hot. A real disappointment. We now live in town and NEVER again. Sorry, they lost me. I want my 30 plus dollars back. read more

The waitstaff was very nice and friendly with quick service and refills. The food on the other hand was super greasy. I expected typical American Chinese food, but this was below my low expectations. I left feeling very unhappy with my the money I spent on food that was terrible. read more

Like several of the other posters, we had a bad experience. After visiting town and craving Chinese I was so happy to see the place had a buffet. The choice was okay but because it was the weekend we had to pay something like 30 plus (maybe more?) for the three of us for lunch!. My husband doesn't even like Chinese food but he went along and my son will try anything. The food was cold or lukewarm. Dish after dish I tried was the same and like another poster, I found myself wasting food, something I do not like to do. I also don't like to get sick so as I ate I wondered which food was safe. There was no point complaining. I don't know if anyone even understood anything but getting the plates off the table asap and moving us along in our meal. Needless to say, we never returned, despite moving to the town. Now I see they have a 'new chef' (from their advertizing) and the parking lot is still empty during the lunch and dinner 'rush.' Good buffets should be packed with people waiting at those times. This place is not ever crowded as we drive up and down the road daily. I go down the road to the competition near Planet Fitness. Their prices are cheap for take out lunch and the food is great. Sorry Super Buffet, you need an overhaul. read more

We went there last night for dinner, 11/21/14......It was horrible...the food tasted like the cardboard box it came out of. The several chicken dishes were extremely tough and chewy. The fried foods were tasteless and the breading was so hard. The soup (I had the egg drop and my husband had the won ton), tasted just like the metal pot it was in. The salmon had absolutely no flavor at all. It was soggy and tasted like the water it was sitting in. NEVER again will we eat there. $57 for the 4 of us was a waste of money. read more

wow, this place needs bulldozing, low quality, sugary food, my stomach hurt minutes after starting my first plate, Super Buffet in it's mission to lure all who drive by offer Chinese, Japanese and American buffet cuisine (EPIC FAIL in all three!) in addition to a rather disgusting cookie/ice cream station of the cheapest quality, the staff don't even eat the food, the kitchen makes them completely *different* Chinese food to eat (lucky them!), abandon this place and try one of those Italian roadhouse's littered along the highway read more

I actually enjoy the food at this restaurant. It's pretty good and the staff is very friendly. They have a great wonton soup and chicken and broc, my fav. My review is not on the food, but it's regarding the property. I can't help but notice that it's a bit of an eye sore. The esthetics of the building and landscaping needs some serious help! It's terrible. The red paint is chipping, the front/side bushes are out of control and the parking lot is a mess with pot holes. If this restaurant put some effort into easy repairs, more ppl and families would likely come because it would appear more inviting. 9 & 20 is tough, I know, however the surrounding businesses are making an effort, you should too. read more

This is easily the worst food I have had in a long time. The food was cold and I did not see one new tray of food brought out in the 45 minutes to an hour that I was there. Most food was gone (at 5p.m.). If you plan on trying it you better bring more the 40 dollars for 2 people because the prices are ridiculous. I like this place a lot. They keep the food fresh and plentiful whether there are 3 or 30 people. You can't say that for many places.

Hate it. If any of you in the area remember the great Chinese buffet sweep a while back, when they shut down a crap load of buffets for illegal workers. They were awesome back then, now they suck. It seems they have been under new management since they opened back up a while back and it all went downhill from there. Unless you're there for prime time the food sits there FOREVER. When I say forever I say it in an ominous tone, and mean exactly what I said, FOREVER. The food stays out until it starts growing its own species of life. Its horrible. I love Chinese buffets, this is the Chinese buffet that started my love of Chinese buffets. It is now on the crap list of food, which is horrible. how has this place stayed open? very run down and unpleasant, rude managers and owners! very little a/c on the hottest days. food is often undercooked, NOT UP TO TEMP AND ALMOST COLD! BARELY WARM! many items not replaced on BUF and just a few tablespoons remain in trays. sushi, peel shrimp, mussels, and any seafood are not put out regularly, especially when they are busy with daily bus loads of tourist travelers or several hours before change over to dinner. food is just mediocre and not hot, NOT CONSISTENT with any quality or concern for customers! many fried and stuffed items contain some kind of mystery meats and lots of minced fat and other stuff/fill? what is it, please? you will never see a red pepper here, or bok choy, a fresh piece of real baked fish... little or no pleasant variety of good ingredients prepared well. where are the shrimps? mussels? decent fish? Help, East Greenbush needs some good 'ol fashion REAL CHINESE food. start with better ingredients, quality and care, lots of heat/like hot food, show some respect and decency towards all! read more
