Located right off the highway, Super City Bar has that classic roadhouse vibe! Located near Metropolis Illinois, some menu items are Superman themed, but the overall vibe is country dive bar. The location is quite large with a large bar top, a pool table and a video gambling room. Our server was very friendly and helpful with recommendation's. The food was actually quite good! Consisting of big hand made pizzas and a host of perfectly fried options, we were impressed and full when we left! My only knock would be that men's bathroom! Yikes we're lucky we went to the bar first, because if I had gone into that bathroom ahead of time, no way we would've stayed and eaten. Only one of the four bulbs above the mirror worked and it was filthy with cleaning rags on the countertop. Driving through and decided to order a burger to go. I went with the hulk burger. I've never been here but the reviews were pretty good so I decided to try it. Pricing was fair. I think it was just over $6 for the burger. No sides included. When I went to pick it up there were a few tables seated, mostly families. It was pretty dark inside but very comfortable and welcoming. I was greeted and taken care of quickly. They didn't give me any napkins and I didn't think to ask until I took my first bite and bbq sauce was everywhere. I wasn't a fan of the sauce. It was too spiced and very thick. Like a cheap grocery store brand. The burger was just ok. Kind of dry. Idk. It wasn't anything excited. It wasn't great but wasn't horrible. Got a grilled pork chop plate. Came with z decent sized chops. The ksvot ea on point. Note over smoked. a little dry perhaps but overall good chop. I hit 2 sides one wed French fries with a side salad. The salad was underwhelming. Lettuce that has passef its prime. A lot on brown spots on all of the brown spots left me fried were industrial cut prepackaged so they were bland but enough salt can turn around. Just about anything. Overall a decent place. Extremely excellent service. Felt welcomed from the start. Had the Lois Lane burger since while in Metropolis seemed appropriate! It was one of the best burgers I've had! My husband had the Steak Special and loved it! Would not have thought a Bar & Grill would be the best place for a steak but they cooked it perfectly Medium-Rare! After my recent break up, I was feeling pretty low, but luckily I stumbled upon this gem of a place called Super City B&G. It had a really cool western honky tonk vibe that reminded me of Patrick Swayze's roadhouse. The burgers here were absolutely delicious, and as big as a wild west outlaw's appetite. The flavors were like a stampede of cattle charging through my taste buds. The portions were so generous that I felt like I was getting my money's worth, which was a welcome feeling after my break up. After this breakup with my meta-human appetite I ordered the Lois Lane Burger. Very manly, I know. But what really made my night was the live music. The locals had karaoke that had me tapping my so-not-boots and singing along. The atmosphere was so fun and lively that I forgot all about my troubles for a while. Despite the busy night, the service was fantastic. The staff were like old friends, always checking in on me and making sure I had everything I needed. Overall, don't miss the perfect place to go when you need a break from life's troubles. We randomly found this place when some a hole caused an accident on the bridge which backed traffic up for miles. We were sitting there waiting to get on the freeway when we looked over and saw this place. We pulled over to it to wait out the hour long traffic jam. We ordered food and I had the chicken quesadilla which was very tasty. The chicken had a BBQ mesquite flavor that really added to the food. We had a couple beers. They are a newer bar and grill so the beer selection is limited. No IPAs. But we still stop by from time to time. read more

This is a tiny little Sports Bar in Metropolis, IL, Super Man's Town. As a small boy I loved Super Man and maybe I still do. There is a big poster of Super Man on the Wall. The waitress/ bar tender was very friendly and quite knowledgeable about the area. She was so excited that they had the best and most beers on tap in the whole town, all 4 of them. She also told us they made their own Homemade Ranch Dressing, so I tried a salad with Homemade Ranch Dressing and I had to agree, it was pretty darn good ! The Monte Crisco sandwich was very good too, a bit greasy, but very tasty and quite large. Their prices on everything, beer included were really cheap! This little Sports Bar is actually in the center of a historical area. Fort Massac, built by French soldiers in 1757 is nearby, Louis & Clark traveled through this area & it's on the famous Trail of Tears and of course, it's the Home of Super Man and Sports a huge model of Super Man, street cutouts and yes, even a Super Man Museum, This is a little town to add to your 'travel list'! read more

My wife and I had hamburgers here today. She had the hulk, which has too much bbq sauce that made the onion ring really soggy. The meat and bacon were good. I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was good. Our complaint is that the tables were really sticky. Like they haven't been cleaned in ages. We also ordered loaded fries. What a joke. They were terrible. They used cheese weeze or singing similar. Instead of putting real cheese and put them in an oven to melt. The bacon was bad. Not crispy at all. I would not recommend this to anyone. The only reason we went there was that it was recommended by the desk person in our hotel. Stay away from this place. We will never go back here again.
