What makes this place stand out is that on one occasion we brought in our duvet cover to be cleaned and they told us it doesn't have to be dry cleaned, and even said the cost wasn't necessarily worth it unless you like how the duvet feels after dry cleaning (it feels a little different if it's machine-washed). My wife and I were so impressed by their honesty. They could easily pocketed the money to have our cover cleaned, but instead offered an alternative that was of no immediate benefit to them. I was charged for dry cleaning plus sewing to tighten all 4 buttons on the coat. I received the coat back with zero work/effort/labor done to the coat. I was shocked as I was charged $19.50 for dry cleaning (Which was not needed! Plus!! The sewing of 4 buttons). I agreed to have the coat cleaned as I thought this would have been professionally done. I also requested sewing for a black sweater coat. I was charged $8.00 plus dry cleaning. I received the sweater back with the same hole, and zero work/effort/labor done. The total bill came to $42.50. The owner refused to return my money and completely lied and said that everything that I had requested was done. It wasn't. The owner accused me of making the original hole in the sweater coat and then proceeded to explain that the stitching for the buttons was her thread! The stitching was still the original color and the buttons were not reinforced at all. It was completely obvious that no work was completed as I requested/ paid for. I have lived in this area for years and can appreciate the better business owners that still exist in this area. Its bad enough to be constantly "charged extra" for using a credit card! The owner was annoyed that I complained and started to speak louder and talk over me. As a working professional, (with lots of clothing that requires dry cleaning) I will never go back to this business. I've used other dry cleaners in this neighborhood and this has never happened to me with them. I gave her more than two weeks to find the clothes and all she reimbursed me was $200. When I asked her to call all of the customers who had come to her and could potentially have my clothes, it's clear she was being lax about it and didn't actually do it. On top of that I had some shawls I needed for a wedding that were lost with the clothes and I had to panic the literal day before the wedding trying to find them and repurchase them. The shawls alone were worth $50. I am beyond disappointed in this service. I would not trust her with my clothes again. Had she handled the aftermath in a fair manner then maybe I wouldn't be writing this but you're taking a big risk giving her some expensive clothes and then the reimbursement is close to nothing like the original price.
