The host, Gonzalo, confirmed my stay almost immediately after I messaged him with the details of my stay and itinerary. All was fine until less than a week before my trip, when Gonzalo suddenly cancelled my reservation with no explanation whatsoever. I messaged him to ask why - no response. I messaged him on Oct 2 and gave him the courtesy of waiting until Oct 4 to respond to my polite inquiry. He couldn't be bothered. Gonzalo and Chase Street Properties ruined my trip and didn't even have the simple human decency to tell me why. Don't let him ruin your trip - book with anyone else. For my part, I will be telling my story to the Baltimore City Council and the Baltimore City Housing Department, Johns Hopkins Hospital, as well as anyone else who will listen. I hope this is not a shady business but that is for the authorities to determine.

People like this are scum. Stay away…read more Accused me of being a scammer. All I asked for was comp for the dirty floors and getting put into unit with a broken AC. Then I brought up the other issues that I originally overlooked. For example, dirty toilet, lint left in dryer, my allergies from maybe dirty pillows or headboard, I didn't mentioned the dirty coffee machine I ran probably 4 times that still didn't put out clean water, also dusty fans, loose wingnuts on temp beds. He'll say I didn't contact him originally and he is right. I contacted his coworker Lorraine who has been my point of contact since day one, and he has never reached out. When nothing got handled for the AC or the dirty floors of the foyer or elevator I reached out to Gonzalo and still nothing happened. Just the Maintenance guy telling me they knew the AC was out, I shouldn't have been put in there as they were ordering parts. Plus the dirty floors and elevator wasn't their responsibility. It was the building maintenance and no one came for the entire stay. so we had to take the stairs to avoid the trash juice that was in the elevator. Definite extra inconvenience. He offerred me a $100 for the inconvenience. I thought about it, and I wanted my cleaning fee and asked for $200. He said I was trying to get a free night and I was a scammer. Then he flipped it on me saying my son broke his bed, but no, he doesn't keep up with his temp beds, I tightened them for you so it wouldn't happen again. Then he accused me for leaving it filthy. People like this are scum. Stay away.

The location of Lancaster House makes it a great base of operations for a weekend in Baltimore…read more Probably its greatest attraction is that it's stumbling distance to all the bars and restaurants in Fell's Point, so you don't have to worry about saddling someone with designated driver duties for climbing into the back of a cab that looks like it was just on one of the more... interesting... episodes of Taxicab Confessions. Should boozing for hours on end not be your thing, you can easily make use of the water taxis two blocks away to see all the touristy parts around Inner Harbor. The owners were nice enough to provide two passes for the taxis, so the $10/day fare becomes a non-issue. The house is a typical period row home, with narrow hallways, slanted floors (even when you're sober) and very steep winding staircases. The kitchen was fully equipped and the back patio with gas grill makes for a good way to spend a cool evening with a half dozen friends. All the rooms were well furnished and functional, making decent use of some of the smaller spaces. Bonus points to the owners for plastering the walls with numerous alcohol themed prints from around the start of the 20th century. There are a few annoying bits worth noting. The parking situation isn't great. They provide a pass that allows parking on the non-metered street, but a second car means finding a parking garage 4 (?) blocks away or getting $52 parking tickets as souvenirs. I have two I'm going to frame. I understand protecting the residents right to park from the Fell's Point masses, but I would have liked to see two passes for a three bedroom house instead of just the one. Oh, and I got another memento in the form of a license plate screw hole punched in my bumper. (Who drives an Xterra in the city anyway?) The A/C doesn't work that well. The lower level was cool, but even with it set at 68° the bedroom on the second floor was very warm in the night. The windows looked somewhat original, so I suspect it's an insulation issue. Not a huge deal, but something to consider during the hotter months. There is internet advertised, but it's useless. We tried both wireless and wired connections on two different devices and it barely worked. Webpages would load, but only after hitting refresh a half dozen times and at a 1992 modem speeds. Piggy backing off a neighbor with an open wireless network was far less aggravating. The third bedroom is a bed in an open loft over the kitchen, so make sure your third couple (or amorous single) likes very late night or early morning nookie. I guess you could also have people who don't mind an audience there, but I suggest you discuss it PRIOR to being surprised while enjoying your morning coffee in the breakfast nook. Despite these annoyances, the general consensus among the guests was "I could live here for a year." Take that as you will. All the restaurants and taverns had great food and drinks. I found the people of Baltimore extremely friendly and welcoming. Lancaster house is very well maintained! I got used to the narrow staircases very quickly! A charming home!

My girlfriend and I found sleep afloat via AIR B&B and ended up renting their houseboat in fells point for a weekend. As far as booking the room, it was easy. I called their agent in Baltimore, and he answered immediately. Mine was a last minute booking (2 hrs before arrival). I asked them if they could do any better on the price and they were able to knock 200$ off the Air B&B listed price. I met with their local contact Dominick, who was friendly and receptive. He gave me the keys and after a quick review of the boats systems he was on his way. Our boat featured a queen sized bed that was super comfortable. It also featured central air, and a nicely equipped kitchen. There were a total of 4 boats available for rent- in varying levels of luxury and size. The boat was clean, and the location was nice. Because of where the harbor is situated there were not very many waves at all. The only downside to the whole experience was the 175$ cleaning fee that is automatically assessed after each stay. Overall, not a killer deal by any means, but definitely a cool-unique experience.

As we entered, the tables on the main deck were arranged to fit party groups of either 6 or 8 guests and a table for 2. The buffet food was arranged at the front of the dining area and the musician (acoustic guitar) next to it. He did a wonderful job of singing and playing both guitar and harmonica. Upstairs, they had tall tables with a few metallic stools. So happy the room was air-conditioned. Serve yourself was near immediate. Bar and drinks were upstairs on the observation deck. Soft drinks and tea were included. The accommodations up there were tall tables and a few metallic stools To the food: The assorted greens salad was fresh with your choice of salad dressings. Then rolls with real butter, followed with spaghetti with meatballs and a pasta with shrimp and parmesan, and chicken parm cutlets. Potato salad and a caprese salad of sliced mozzarella and tomatoes topped with a balsamic dressing. There was enough for seconds. Close to the end of the cruise, they brought out some desserts that looked like magazine quality. Cheesecake, chocolate layered cake, carrot cake, and lemon bars. All were very rich, and nothing was left. The staff could not have been nicer and very efficient. It's a really great crew. There is plenty of free parking. One note, this is not a wheelchair accessible due to a series of steps.
