You get to see it all as you walk through the facilities from cooking the mash to bottling. Tours differ slightly with each tour guide, but show up curious and ready to enjoy. Outside of the tour, check out the shop for some neat gifts or additions to your bar. Also, check out the bar area for some well mixed whiskey cocktails and more. I got to enjoy the Blue Angels show from outside on the lawn. Look out for their summer and fall Whiskey on the Water event too! Think blanket, lawn chairs, food trucks, live music and whiskey styled a couple ways.

The class is about 1 hour long and you make 2 cocktails that feature their drinks. The staff is super welcoming and excited to help you learn. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. Everything that is used as a mixer or addition to the drink is made in house. Super tasty. We made a tea based drink and then another one (see photos). Both were good. It was nice to have every single detail thought out and ready. The room where you are taking the class is very comfortable and has terrific views. We sat out on their lawn that is waterfront when we were done. Super nice area. They do have a bar that is on the premises as well. There was an outdoor bar, but it wasn't open when we were there (beginning of May). This would be a super fun place to come for lunch or just to hang out on the grassy area and watch the scenery. Parking could be an issue and you will have to pay. Keep that in mind for time management. Overall, a super fun thing to do. Highly recommend.

With our reciprocal museum membership the admission was free. Otherwise it would have $8-$10 each. Parking is free and easily available which is not common in downtown Baltimore. The worker at the front desk was super energetic and helpful. This museum is housed in an old canning factory. The displays are all well done and we learned alot about industry in the Baltimore area and local history. Lots of hands on displays. Worth an hour or so of your time. Thumbs up!

Don't quote me because this was something I heard in passing. This museum looks out into part of the harbor, which during a clear day adds even more charm. The museum features a life-size replica of an old pharmacy/ apothecary, and they was my favorite part of the whole thing. For a moment, I was able to relive that scene from Willy Wonka where Charlie walks into the soda shoppe where he purchases his life changing chocolate bar. Glad I came here to see something I otherwise wouldn't have.

It is only a couple of rooms and focuses on a period from the late 1800's through early 1900's. There were some people there to give context, and one offered to look up ancestors that I might have had come through the Port of Baltimore. The limited scope of the museum means that it's not a huge destination, but I'm glad that it's there and for the right visitor it will be worthwhile.

It is a slow ongoing project that requires constant funding and time. Our party of three were the only visitors when we dropped in. A nice gentleman greeted us and gave us a tour, since there were no other visitors. The tour was short since only two rooms ( bathroom and one bedroom ) were recreated for display. Two other rooms were set up with pictures, artifacts, and poster broads. The poster broads and pictures were very informative. What made this visit so great was the information, knowledge, and history that the gentleman gave us. He is a retired lawyer that had grown up and worked in Baltimore. With his oral presentation and the poster broads, we received a comprehensive past and present history of immigration in Baltimore. Tbe gentleman believes it will take another 10 plus years to completely finish the museum. He also maintains a database of around 150,000 immigrants from Europe and Russia that had landed in Baltimore. He is more than happy to do free research for anyone seeking information about their European immigrant ancestors. The museum is only open on weekend from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Museum tour during the week or appointment with the gentleman can be arranged. Admission is free and donation is gladly accepted. Free street parking only.

This strikes me as somewhat similar to the two excellent Kohler Art museums in Wisconsin. Super interesting and thought provoking especially the stories of many of the artists accompanying their work. The main museum building is a work of art itself. The gift shop is a riot. Hands down the best and craziest museum gift store. Thank goodness my friend recommended this stop. Heads up on parking - the meters on the street are way way cheaper then the Rusty Scupper lot across the street. This place is a gem. Don't miss it!

I mean how can you pass by the mirrored egg or the golden hand and not think to find out what type of dope art is hidden inside. With so many unique pieces to look at I took my time leisurely strolling through the two buildings for the museum. Welcomed by a half naked mannequin with wings floating in the center of the stairs, you can't help but be intrigued to learn more about the artists work. There was so much to take in with every turn. I especially liked the homage to the staples of Baltimore's culture in the second building. And we can't forget about the gift shop that I literally could've spent hours in just rummaging through all the eclectic finds. I'm happy I finally bit the bullet to visit the American Visionary Art Musuem, and I look forward to a return visit to see all the things I missed.
