There's certain products that I just can't get anywhere else so that's the reason why I do come back here. This place is always a hit or miss and mostly it's a mess for me because I have found expired or stale products in the store. Some things that are not expired tasted stale or old by the time I brought them home. I'm assuming that also the temperature of the store and the fact that the door is always open is probably making the products go bad. It's not very temperature control controlled. So my new favorite thing are sour yellow plums. I've been ordering from Turkey on Amazon. Delivery is taking longer & longer. Luckily my cousin happened to mention this market. They have my plums! It's kind of a Hawaiian thing where dried fruit is tossed with Li Hui Mui powder. A well known Asian snack. So this is my cheater, cheaper version of li hing mui plums. They have a butcher counter in the back with fresh meats. Many varieties of Basmati rice. (A young girl & her mom gave me a tip which one has the best flavor-Daawat Ultima in the green bag). Better/authentic flavor & better pricing than Ralph's or Von's. Tons of spices, & packaged rice mixes. A great little store right here in Torrance! A real gem. read more

Love these international markets...they are packed with all sorts of treasures and everything you need to make that recipe you've been craving. My guy is a wiz in the kitchen, he loves to make spicy food and isn't afraid try exotic recipes with spices some haven't heard of. I love it because over the years I've eaten some of the best food made in our own home kitchen. Like many international markets, this one is filled with all sorts of spices, spice mixes, dried beans/lentils, loads of canned and jarred foods, breads, sweets and interesting fresh produce. The meat case has some delicious game meats like lamb and goat. We typically bring our Neela Paniz and Madhur Jaffrey cookbooks with us when we shop...so we can load up on all the right ingredients for the evenings masterpiece. If we can't find something the staff can get us on track and they'll sometimes throw in some tips too! Don't pass up these magnificent international markets. The cashier watches your fingers when you put your PIN number & register it. This place is great when I come in to stock up on exotic foods. Most commonly, I buy their Arabic bread, which goes great with many dishes that I cook at home. They have many foods and drinks here that go perfect with Arabic, Persian, and Indian dishes. They have middle eastern dairy products, of which I usually buy the doogh (a carbonated yogurt drink). They have the regular and mint variety. The store is small, located near Redondo Beach Blvd and Prarie. Parking is not an issue, as there are several spots at the front of the store, and a huge lot it shares with Chuck E Cheese. read more

Super Hayat has become Super Arrogant Disrespectful market. To buy Halal meat I travel all the way from Alhambra to this place but now I won't. The butchers section is run by a bunch of arrogant and rude people. The management is also changed and they don't care about the customer service anymore. They feel it's not their responsibility to be courteous or respectful to the customer. They won't bag the meat in different bags ( no matter how many pounds you buy,10 or 20 lb ) they will bag it all together for you to go home and thaw the whole bag to cook a few lbs. The meat is always over priced but you buy no matter what if you want Halal meat so they take advantage of it. They are so rude that I've decided to write this review and also ask my friends and family to not visit this place. Have found another place on Hawthorne Blvd in Hawthorne, that sells Halal meat. Going to super hayat is like paying to get ill treated by the management / the butchers. Arrogant customer service so take my advice and Don't go there ever. read more

This is one of those real hole-in-the-wall treasures that are hidden all over LA. Their selection is excellent if you like halal food. I'm told their halal meat is basically the best you can get in the area, but I haven't tried it myself. If you need any kind of specialty spice or food from the Mideast, India, Pakistan, or that general area, this is the place to find it. Be warned, this place isn't much for fancy appearances. Expect the place to be piled high with products, and you'll probably have to squeeze past some people. But who cares --- you're here for the groceries, not the experience! read more

I've been coming to this place for years, they have a very good selection of Desi (Pakistani/Indian) groceries. The prices are fair and their selection of halal meats is good as well, however make sure to be prepared to wait in line for the meat counter as there is almost always a rush. read more

I often go to this place for south asian grocery since it has variety of spices, snacks, vegetables and the price is also good (similar to Makkah Market). But I find this place very congested and not so well managed. They sell frozen goat meat too at around $6/lbs (cheaper than Makkah Market) but I dont prefer goat meat from here since it isnt fresh. ps; Haldiram and Bikaji Bhujiya lovers, let me save your extra time. Been coming here for years. I never go during the weekend because it's a terrible, terrible idea because of the traffic. You won't be able to move an inch, or get to the butchers. I go during the week. The butcher has everything you can ask for. Liver, lamb, beef, etc. Then there are all the pickled items, and a good frozen food section. Also, good imported cheese. A great place for ethnic Indian, Pakistani, and/or Arab grocery. It's a one-stop shop. Their meat is sourced locally(Sattar Bhai), everything is always fresh. The meat is a little expensive but its fresh and from a reliable halal source. You get what you pay for. I love being able to stop and get everything from one place. It's a little crowded and its packed, all the aisles are filled to the brim but its a cute Mom and Pop shop. read more

I asked for 2 lbs carne asada & if if he could kindly place each pound in a separate bag. He refused. And to NOT do so during Covid doesn't make sense (I was buying it for another household). This small market has an extensive selection of South Asian, Middle Eastern, and European goods. Its main feature is the meat section that is often busy. The butchers are courteous and will cut the meat to your liking. The market can be better organized as it can feel like going on an adventure to look for a particular spice. Although they have the typical mid eastern products the store is cluttered and dirty. And they are very slow hence there's always a long line. I have never been in a Halal type market, yes my fair share of Asian markets and American Supermarkets, but never an Arab Market. And in this day and age, I must say I am thankful to not have a closed heart to this opportunity. Thankfully my good friend has now schooled me in the art of Halal BBQ. I now have the confidence to shop here and buy meat and spices worthy enough to be called Indian/Pakistani food. About Super Hayat...Their butchers will cut to spec. My wife loved how thin they cut the chicken and beef we bought. My friend says if you buy Lamb and want it in a thousand pieces for Curry this is the place to order it. From that statement it seems quite tedious to make 1000 pieces of anything so I guess that really means full service. I loved the prepackaged Naan bread we bought and the buy one get one sweetened the deal. I can now navigate through the spices and get what I need to make Tandoori BBQ and I love how we always end the meal with Tea with Milk. Got to get yogurt too! Next time I am gonna try to do a Curry. I am sure I will find my way back here to show off my range of grilling skills to the friends. Seriously how many people you know, thats not Muslim, busting out bomb Halal BBQ, with all those great Indian spices. Just hope my buddies don't have that IBS thing. Bummer for them if they do. I didn't buy any meat or produce here, however, the grocery items were plentiful. They have like 5 or 7 different types of phyllo dough as well as the stringy kind (I don't know how to spell it in English but it begins with a k- sound). Lots of Indian snacks and flavors. A few varieties of honey, Sadaf brands, and various non-Kraft dairy products. Good prices on juice, and the produce looked really fresh. Only 1 cashier and the line area was a little confusing but it moved pretty quickly. Good prices on doogh. No mint flavored Sadaf doogh during my visit. Sale on red lentil beans 2 packs for $4 however I only needed 1 so I ended up paying like $3 something which was fine. Various brands of coconut milk as well, which I almost bought until I realized I don't need it, haha! They sell small quarts of mango lassi. I wish they sold Kedem and Osem products. We were here for the meat , the guys at the meat counter were friendly and attentive and listened to what exactly we wanted. But thats it, none of the other store staff were neither friendly not attentive, we asked the guy at the billing counter for a particular masala and he acted like he dint hear us eventhough we asked abt it 3 times. He acted rude and looked like he hated his job. Well this is not an indian grocery store for sure, i couldnt find single typical indian maslaa here, they were all pakistani or arab, not that i have a problem with that, but that SHAN stuff is never the same as indian masala spices. read more

A cool little middle eastern store in the community to go to. Small portions of grocaries for all over the the Middle East like teas, dry beans and rice, can goods, breads fresh and frozen, sweets, fresh veggies and fruits, milk and many different fresh cheese and cream to try from different part of the Middle East. The meat department is small but you'll get what's necessary for a meal. The store is nicely stock and clean with plenty of parking. Staff are welcoming and helping. read more

So I have come back... my go to store no longer sells bulk Halal and the surrounding halal meat markets the butchers do not know how to do certain meat cuts or won't take the fat off the meat if you ask them too... Sooo... I have tried it again today... as always the butchers always excel!! Them being Hispanic helps me tell them exactly what I need. They ate efficient and quick. The store looks a bit more crowded but it seems that they have some American frozen dishes for Muslims like me. The cashiers we very nice and even the staff around the shop were courteous and willingly to help.. I do hope that this experience is the normal now for the store. If it is I'll be a regular customer again. My spices I will get from my Hindu store though since it is easier to know where things are. read more

This was the second Indian groceries we came to in the Torrance area. This is just a grocery store. There's no cafe. To be precise this is a Pakistani store; however, both countries share the same foods mostly. The selection for packaged foods and spices is quite good. And so are the prices. On the downside, the selection of vegetables is lacking. But the vegetables are crazy cheap. They also have butcher section, which seemed a bit ghetto; makes you not want to buy the meat. Reminds me of something from SAW. But the other parts are better. I come here often and like it. read more

Use to be a good place to shop, however the owner is raising meat prices and I decided to use other markets for my groceries and meat.

Though it seems a little unorganized, they have a great selection of merchandise. I would highly recommend going there for exotic spices.
