Adam, the owner, responded almost immediately letting me know that he was booked through July. I loved the fact that a) he responded at all vs just ignoring the request, b) was upfront and honest about his timeline vs just taking the job and overextending himself. Once I told him that we were in no rush, and would be happy to wait, he proceeded to text back and forth with me helping me get an idea as to what the job might cost. He made recommendations about plants, etc....and all this without officially having secured my business. Towards the end of July, I reached back out to see what his timeline looked like. Again, he responded almost immediately. He apologized for not getting back to me sooner, and said he would come out to measure the area, and discuss the job in more detail. In my mind, he had absolutely nothing to apologizing for. He set a date to come out, came out exactly at the time he promised, and helped us figure out what would look good. He provided a written, detailed estimate, which he adhered to...we paid exactly what he quoted. On the day of the job, he showed up as promised and on time. He laid out all of the plants, and allowed us to move them around several times until we got everything exactly the way we wanted it. His team worked quickly and neatly. The end results are amazing! From the first day that we hired him he was a poor communicator. He also did not do that great a…read morejob on mowing the lawn. Unbeknown to me he insisted on payment for the month ahead of time. (Another family member paid him) I would never do that. The second time he was spose to mow was a Friday, he never called, never showed. Late in the day I texted him and let him know that poor communication is what caused us to fire our last landscaper. He actually had the nerve to say to me that he was having difficulty communicating because there is a lot going on with covid and the War in the Ukraine. Excuse me? How is that affecting a local lawn mower? He said he would come Saturday. Saturday it rained all day and after me texting him he finally answered that he would have to wait til the rain stopped. No duh. You couldn't look at the forecast? So I said, so you are coming Monday? He said yes. Monday came and I texted him asking him if he was coming morning or afternoon, he never answered me til 11:30 in the morning and said he would be there in the afternoon. Well I guess so since morning was done. After 330 in the afternoon when he hadn't shown, hadn't called I texted him again. He claimed he was on his way to urgent care. I did not believe him, still don't. I went back to the guy who refered him and he said he had referred about 7 people to this guy and almost all of the 7 came back infuriated over his service. He was very apologetic and offered to help in any way he could, I will not name him because he didn't know at the time how bad this guy was. I have asked him for a refund of my balance of $100, I doubt I will see it. We have hired someone else and are glad to be rid of him. Update: Still no refund
