I drove all the way from Las Vegas and was excited to watch these balloons fly out! There is ample parking at Casablanca Resort and you can just walk across the street where the balloons are set up at. It was a little chilly so definitely bring a coat and sunglasses since it will be super bright too. BUT... the balloons didn't get to fly up! Unfortunately, weather also plays a big part too in how the balloons go up and sadly, weather did not permit for the hot air balloons to go up. But it was nice because the guy leading the announcement was very professional and allowed the hot air ballon to static or go up for a little bit to show the height and volume of these balloons which was really cool! I loved how educational everything was and how the pilots were showing how things worked and what the actual basket looked like (it's literally like how I saw it in the movies - an ACTUAL basket)! They also have a show at night as well. It was nice to see an event like this and seeing the display of colorful balloons being blown up. If you haven't ever experienced a hot air balloon festival, you definitely have to come! I will be back especially since I didn't get to see the balloons go up this time around. I don't remember seeing food or drinks at this venue so it's good to get something to eat or drink beforehand. There's a gas station nearby though for you to get things.

This event is just a bit over an hour drive from Las Vegas, in Mesquite. At first we passed the…read moregolf course and I thought we were lost or took a wrong turn but we kept going and the view open up to where a bunch of cars were parked and there was people guiding us to the parking spot. Parking is $30 per car but we carpool with friends and split the cost. Once we parked we loaded our wagon with blankets, snacks and drinks. Checked in at the tent for our markers and lantern and then walked into the crowds to look for available spots to sit. I recommend bringing a fold up chair next time. It was also hot 100+ degrees so we arrived kinda late, at 7pm and we had just enough time to decorate our lantern before lighting it up and releasing it. Releasing the lantern was special and beautiful. It was like floating stars lighting up the sky. It was magical! There is a 2nd release btw that no one told us about for a fee. You would have to buy a 2nd lantern. Also I read online that there would be fireworks but we did not see any. The event started 2 hours before sundown but it was hot so we arrive right before sundown. I recommend the event admin dim the light post when it's time to release the lantern as the lights was too bright when we wanted to take photos and videos. There were also food trucks along one side which was helpful. Hoping we can do this again next year

The Clark County Fair and Rodeo is a fantastic county fair out in the middle of nowhere…read more You drive from Vegas like you are going towards Salt Lake City which means leaving Nevada for Arizona by way of Mesquite. Just when you are out in the desert, before Mesquite, you turn off toward Logandale and in just a few miles you find parking for the county fair. Once you enter the gates to the fair you feel transported to someplace else. It is green and has shade trees everywhere. Locals are pulling out their camping chairs and claiming their spots underneath a canopy of old trees. It seems like a giant family picnic or reunion. Off to the left is a building hosting artwork, photography, and a ton of crafts. There is a little shop inside with inexpensively priced snacks and drinks. There was a face painter on the way out of that building as you work your way to the large entertainment building with a terrific stage and seating area. We saw illusionists, a hypnotist, bands, and a drumming duo - show after show after show. Then back outside we saw strolling jugglers, a baseball comedy fire show, a one-man band, and many vendors. Beyond the myriads of vendors was a building full of more vendors including one selling amazing fudge. Back up towards the office we saw another stage with a lot of dancers. Then there were some barns and other buildings working our way back around the fairgrounds. Beyond that was the carnival full of great rides and games and vendors from Brown's Amusements. We spent the entire day there and had so much fun. When we told my dad about it, he insisted on going next year. So, we have plans to visit him in Vegas and take him to the 2026 Clark County Fair and Rodeo.

Danny Brown had a ton of rides for all ages. There was a ton of entertainment. I loved the little store inside the first building, they had delicious homemade treats to eat and take home. There was so much entertainment to watch and enjoy. There was a great food row, and so many vendors to visit. I will enjoy this fair for years to come!

Occasionally there was a booth that had something rather nice but overall it was just junk . There was no food really to speak of except for piles of dried out tired looking pastries on tables with people clamoring around them. It was nice to see some children performing in their holiday costumes but otherwise it was just a bunch of people pushing each other around to see if there was anything interesting . The festival has been going on for years and it feels tired . Time to do something fresh and new .

I traveled from Texas for RISE and genuinely had no idea what to expect. I had seen the photos and…read morevideos of the lantern release online, but experiencing it in person was completely different. There's this moment when the entire energy of the festival changes. Thousands of people are standing together, the music starts, and suddenly everything feels incredibly still and intentional. I remember looking around and realizing that everyone had written something different on their lantern--memories, people they loved, things they wanted to let go of, hopes for what was ahead. Then the lanterns started filling the sky and it was honestly overwhelming in the best possible way. You can see pictures of RISE a hundred times, but they don't capture what it actually feels like to stand underneath all of those lanterns with thousands of other people. I traveled all the way from Texas thinking I was coming to see something beautiful. I left feeling like I had actually experienced something meaningful. Absolutely worth the trip, and something I'll never forget.

As someone picky about lineups... RISE surprised me…read more Review: I'm pretty picky with festivals/events because I feel like lineups are either amazing or super random and disappointing. RISE surprised me in a good way. The music side of the event actually felt curated to match the vibe instead of being a bunch of unrelated artists thrown together. The sound was genuinely strong (I expected wind/desert to mess with it but it was clean), and the pacing across the night made sense. It built up properly instead of peaking early and dying. Honestly my favorite moment of the whole night was Calvin's set.. he went HARD. The lighting was insane and it really delivered a full-on show. Not even exaggerating, it felt better than Rufus to me... way more upbeat, more fun, and the crowd energy was unreal. Not trying to overhype it, but I left thinking the music was a huge part of why the night worked as well as it did.

They host Broadway quality productions here. We are from LA and regularly see touring companies there and have seen musicals in New York, Chicago and other major cities and this is absolutely on par with them. We saw the Little Mermaid, which was incredible. Singing and dancing were wonderful. Everything was great. They flooded the stage with running water. They had fireworks. They had a huge ship and a castle. The one note is this is an outdoor theater and it was 95 degrees at 10:00pm. We weren't prepared for that level of heat. Lots of people had mini fans and misters which we wish we had. If you aren't a local prepare for the climate!

Even though this event is now in its fourth year, this was my first time attending. The event is held at Knickerbocker Park off the 215 and Hualapai and goes from 6PM - 9:30PM. Fireworks started on time at 9:15PM. This event is gaining in popularity with locals.The parking is crazy! According to the GPS on my phone, I parked 0.6 miles away from the park. It was the closest thing I could find. Plus, it doesn't help that there's really one way in and out of the community. Be prepared for traffic jams. I didn't arrive until around 8:30PM, so I was prepared for a madhouse. Every inch of Knickerbocker was occupied - the place was swarming. A local radio station, 97.1, was at the event as well as a band to provide live tunes. There were a few food trucks there, to include Grouchy John's Coffee and Slidin' Thru. There was even a beer garden, although I didn't get a chance to check that out. The fireworks ran for about 10-15 minutes and were pretty awesome. You could even see fireworks from the Strip and Aliante. However, I was kind of annoyed that they didn't turn the park lights out during the firework show. It made it harder to enjoy the show and take good pictures. When the show ended, 95% of the attendees made a beeline for their cars. I wasn't about to sit in traffic forever, so I opted to chill out with fellow Yelper Carla M. until the traffic died down. FYI, traffic didn't disappear until around 10:30PM.
