Pulled up...there was a Custer talking to the gal that was paying. One guy was waiting in front of me. I went up to the counter grabbed a clip board and filled out the info. I asked the gal if I needed any other documentation and she just asked for the DMV letter. She was very nice. I went and sat in my car with my pup until she was ready for me. She drove my car around and did her thing. 2 customers came in after me. There was room to wait inside out of the heat on a little couch or there are 2 little tables in the sun. Talked to one of the customers, played a game on my phone. Gave some treats to my pup...then boom.. she let me know my car was ready. We had normal chit chat while I was paying. The Groupon appeared to save me a lot of money but when I arrived, that wasn't the case. They say to read the fine print. SUVs cost $20 more. That was fine. Smog check service was ok, probably less than 15 minutes but the place needs a cleaning and the price is a bait and switch. Coupon says $24.95 + $10 certificate fee - however they don't tell you it is $20 extra for an SUV until it is done and ready to go, plus they don't tell you it is 4% extra to use a credit card until it is already rung up. This is the closest smog to my house so I had been here before and it was adequate. They have a coupon online for 25 bucks but charge extra for the certificate, extra for sedans, coupes, hatchbacks, vans, SUVs, and truck (seriously what kind of vehicle is left?). They claim to be the cheapest in Vista and a sign advertises 5 minute smogs. I attempted to get smogged around 11 am but they had 2 cars in the bay and no where to park so decided to try again later. I came back around 4. Still 2 cars in the bay and nowhere to park - they share a small center with several other shops.....when I say there was no parking it wasn't that they were all full, the center has no marked spots. Since it wasn't clear where to park, I stayed in the car pulled behind other cars so that I could move if need be but clearly was waiting in line. Someone did come behind me and just blocked another business but went inside. I assumed that they would still honor my place so didn't worry too much. The worker pulled a car in around my car that must have been complete and the customer drove it around me to exit so I was not fully blocking traffic. After waiting about 20 minutes with no movement of the cars in the bay, the worker motioned to me. I rolled down my window so that I could hear his request and he YELLED at me that I needed to back up because another car was coming in. I'm not sure why he felt the need to be so rude to me as I wasn't blocking traffic. I decided to leave and find another smog place....I got gas then went down the street where they were polite, efficient, and only cost 4 dollars more than the "coupon" with fees.....money well spent. He's always been professional and courteous, which is why I've continued to come back. On one occasion, I interacted with a woman who performed a smog test without much interaction, but she wasn't rude, so I thought nothing of it. However, during my most recent visit, my experience was completely unacceptable. I called to ask a question about smog testing requirements for a truck that had a check engine light turn off after being driven. Instead of answering my question professionally, the woman on the phone responded dismissively and rudely, cutting me off mid-explanation, and then hung up on me after saying I should "take it to another mechanic." Wanting to resolve the issue, I called back and spoke to the gentleman, who apologized for her behavior. I explained the situation and told him I would come by in person. When I arrived, I intended to speak directly with him, but the woman immediately confronted me in an aggressive manner, falsely accusing me of parking in the wrong spot and then dismissing me when I tried to explain myself. She began berating me, making vague accusations about how I "was rude" on the phone without giving any basis or opportunity for me to defend myself. The gentleman agreed to handle my smog check and work with me directly, but while I waited at the edge of the parking lot to avoid further confrontation, the woman continued to mock me loudly in front of other customers. This was not only unprofessional but humiliating. I calmly asked her to stop and informed her I would record the interaction as evidence of her behavior. Rather than addressing the situation or asking me to leave, she escalated matters further by calling the police and falsely claiming that I had threatened her--which I did not. To Marco, the owner of this business: Your employee has already falsely accused me of threatening her, which is not only illegal but a serious and damaging claim. If you or your business attempt to further misrepresent me publicly, this will only compound the harm caused by her initial illegal actions. Dismissing this issue outright and simply taking your employee's side, as you have done in response to similar complaints in the past, will not resolve this matter--it will only escalate it. I urge you to take accountability and address this situation appropriately to avoid further consequences. I want an apology from your female tech. This was an incredibly disappointing experience. I've supported this business because of its location and fair pricing, but no customer should ever have to endure the level of disrespect, dismissal, and outright hostility I experienced.
