This establishment doesn't take credit cards over the phone, don't have anything on their website to make remote orders that allow customers to build their own sandwiches and pay for them with a credit card, and most importantly, don't send deliveries out with a credit card remote processing device. My favorite go to, Court Square Diner, has used those devices for years. Prestige recommended I go through Grubhub to place my order, , but there is no way to build your own sandwich on that site. This is the second Korean-run deli in the Hunter's Point Long Island City neighborhood that disrespects their customers. As to the other market, E& I Deli on Vernon Blvd., I shopped there for over 30 years, agreeing to pay their ridiculously over-inflated prices for the convenience. I opened a house account so they had my credit card on file and this allowed me to place remote orders by phone with those manning the registers. In the last couple of years, they hired two teenagers to process orders and for reasons unknown to me, they turned out to be nasty and bratty and refused to process my remote orders. The final straw was when I ordered a can of coffee and these employees told me they were out of the item. Of course this was a ridiculous lie, but at that point I had had enough. I approached the owner about the problems and he refused to talk with these employees and rein in their nasty behavior. My supposition is that they may have been relatives and as such could act anyway they pleased. The fact that I was a long standing customer, who had shopped there for over 30 years, had absolutely no influence on the owner. Once that communication was made, I refused to accept their awful misconduct and have boycotted them for the last few years. This is a cautionary tale to Prestige, who was uncooperative to me this evening. If they want their business to thrive past Center Blvd., you should come up with a foolproof system to address the cash vs. credit card acceptance issue.

The guy with the gun walked up to the guy behind the counter (Danny / no longer works there) & put a gun to his head. Danny didn't like the idea & pushed the gun to the side away from his face. The robber wasn't too smart because he did it again. This time Danny grabbed the gun & started to fight with him. He hit Danny in the face & his accomplice broke a bottle over Danny's face & then it was a few for all. All the customers both standing & laying down started to pound the gunman & they took away his gun but not before he could fire it into the wall during the struggle. I think they're a great neighborhood grocery and people should know about them so here we are. I was having some family members over for dinner in honor of my cousin's last day in the city and I needed olive oil, italian bread, and stuffing. This place had all three plus I noticed they carried Boar's head deli meat, different types of soups and cereals, dinner meats like chicken and pork chops, and cleaning supplies plus *some* fresh produce. If you live in the area this should be your go-to place if you need a little something to make yourself dinner and can't be bothered to go out to the main drag by Broadway. Give the place a tray! It worked really well for my needs.
