I spent a day in Beloit for work and was unfortunately in Zoom meetings that overlapped with my lunchtime. I quickly took a look at what food I could order for delivery, and being pretty unfamiliar with the area chose Tacos Neno despite not having heard of it before. I knew I was taking a risk and even told my coworkers that my lunch was either going to be a bust or be amazing and worth the risk. Lucky for me, it was the latter! With about two minutes to review the menu, I chose to get 3 tacos al pastor and a side of rice and beans. My delivery through Uber Eats was super quick and the food was nice and warm. The tacos.... After my first bite I had to let my coworkers on Zoom know that the lunch order had been a success! The squeeze of lime was the perfect addition to the meaty tacos. I didn't have room for the rice and beans then but took it home and enjoyed it later! As most of you know I have been a long-time fan of El Nenos. I decided to order the carnitas meal (their special), along with two elotes and some cheese sauce. We went through door dash for the delivery. The carnitas was supposed to come with three drinks, guacamole, tortillas and one would expect cilantro and onions. We received no drinks, no guacamole, no cilantro and onions, and no elote. When I called to try to rectify the situation I was told I would have to go to their location to correct it. Sadly, there is a reason why I had to go with delivery. Also, there was no offer to refund for any of the missing order The meal cost almost 50 dollars to be this grossly incorrect. I am now on the hunt for tacos elsewhere. read more

I love the variety of vegetarian options, and the value is really good too. My favorite so far is the rajas and cheese gordita, but bean and cheese gordita, quesadillas, and the veggie taco are also great. It can get busy and they're a bit understaffed, and it's definitely got that hole in the wall atmosphere, but it's clean. read more

I ordered 3 steak tacos and horchata. The tacos were very bland not very exciting. The portion size was disappointing since they cost $2.50. The horchata was good but far too sweet for my taste. The had chips but instead of salsa they have hot sauce cups. The hot sauces were spicy but flavorless. The restaurant was rather dumpy, the chairs were falling apart ect. read more

We may have a new champion of the BEST Mexican food (street style) in all the Beloit, WI area! This place is delicious! By far the BEST guacamole I've had in ALL of Wisconsin. We normally have to "lime up" our guac whenever we get it from others needless to say we did not have to do it with this one, it is that GOOD! Like another reviewer posted the thing that got me to try this spot is that they do NOT "americanize" their food unlike other (cough cough) Mexican food spots in town which are really Tex-Mex fare. Though they did get our order wrong, I'm sure it had to due with the stress that is going around during this pandemic. The burritos and tacos were delicious as was the gordita. I really hope this place sticks around because this might be our new #1 when compared to "La Mexicana" on the other side of the river. I will update this review when we order again. read more

Came in on a Sunday afternoon. It was BUUUSY... and I know why. Ambiance was great... food was delicious. Tried the Campechano, Al Pastor and Asada tacos... all 3 were great. Favorite was probably the Al Pastor. Definitely recommend. The only reason not more stars, was that there were some issues with my gf's tacos... lots of fat and nerves. This is (arguably) the best taco place in the stateline area. The food is genuinely authentic Mexican street food. They serve great portions and of all the 10+ times I've gone, the food has been phenomenal. I love in Rockford and have ate at almost every taco place in the Rockford area, but this little Beloit corner diner is by far the best. I suppose if I needed to think of a con, the only, "complaint," I would have is that the salsa roja and salsa verde are always inconsistent. Sometimes one is spicier than the other, sometimes neither of them are that spicy, and sometimes they're both super spicy; but the salsas are always good regardless. By the way, if you like horchata, but sometimes you worry about ordering it because it might be too sweet, or maybe not sweet enough, I can guarantee you won't have that issue here. Found this place and fell in love with the torta and tacos. Lots of meat (steak is all I've had and it's excellent) huge bread and jalapenos / tacos are street sized with fresh onion and cilantro. I'd defiantly recommend this place, it's clean and the service is fast and friendly. They don't offer cans of regular soda inside, but there is a bunch of .50 vending machines out back, which by the way is the best place to park. read more
