I've tried many different types of gyms since I started my fitness journey. Within 2 months of…read moreworking out at CaliRoots my form has significantly improved, and I always leave feeling energized and challenged (in a good way). Coach/Owner Lenny is very welcoming, and he always makes sure you're getting the most out of your workout. He's super knowledgeable and pushes your limits. Here's a brief breakdown on what I've observed so far: Workouts: A mix of Boot-camp and Circuit-style HIIT workouts that focuses on strength, endurance, and skill building. Lenny even throws in a couple of CrossFit type workouts, but don't mistake this for a CrossFit gym! Workouts are never boring, and I appreciate how the style changes to keep things interesting and challenging. The programming of each exercise is well-thought-out and will be sure to help you get to your fitness and health goals. Nutrition: Lenny also works with you on nutrition and helping you stay accountable. When you first start, he'll sit you down to get an understanding of what you're looking to achieve, and he'll even help tailor your nutrition to align with your fitness goals. Members: The members here at CaliRoots are very welcoming, down to earth, and dedicated individuals. So far, I have not met one person who wasn't motivating and friendly. Bonus: 2-3x a month they offer Yoga and Self-defense classes on Saturday's after the standard Boot-camp class. That was one of the most significant selling points for me because it's like getting two gym memberships in one! If you're looking for a laid back vibe and a great fitness program, give CaliRoots a try. You won't regret it.

This is where you should go when you are serious about getting healthy. Doesnt matter if you're a beginner, or an advanced athlete, Lenny pushes you to grow, and develop in ways you didn't know you were capable. I've been to a lot of gyms in my life, and I wish I was here years ago... so glad I found it :)

You get to know all of the other members and everyone is motivating you to reach your goals. It's like family here. If you don't show up the Ben, Danette or Chris might check in on you with a text to see how you are doing and why you are not coming. I see this as a great thing!! Another unique thing about Keola Bodyworks is the trainers are able to work with you to make sure all your movements/lifts are correct. Secondly, they will tailor the workout to fit your goals and/or limitations. Do you have bad knees? No problem, Ben, Danette or Chris will assist you so that you are not missing your workouts because of an injury! Thirdly, Keola has an amazing massage therapist (Danette) who offers massage therapy and is amazing at working out those injuries. It's like a one-stop shop. The workouts are fun and changed up frequently. There are no mirrors and most members seem to be 35+ I'm guessing. I highly recommend checking out Keola and def try a massage by Dannette

Ben (owner and primary trainer) conducts group classes that increase one's strength, cardiovascular conditioning and flexibility. The workouts are constantly evolving, engaging and challenging without being overwhelming. Ben is very considerate of his participants well-being and does a wonderful job of modifying workouts if anyone has physical limitations. The gym is always a positive environment, and the people that attend the classes are supportive and good-natured. I'm deeply grateful to Keola Bodyworks for helping me become healthier and happier over the past six months. I highly recommend this gym to anyone that is looking for a fun, safe and effective way to exercise!

Trainers: Only 2 trainers available…read more Facility: Two-level facility. The AC works well throughout the gym, although the second floor feels noticeably cooler than the first floor. Classes: Group fitness classes are limited to 35 participants. The workout space has a large pillar in the middle that blocks visibility for some attendees. Parking: Plenty of parking available in the underground garage. Members receive 3 hours of complimentary parking at the Golden 1 complex, which is a great perk if you want to explore nearby businesses after your workout. Cleanliness: Workout areas are generally clean and well maintained. However, the restroom area tends to be messier. Amenities: The gym features a full-size basketball court, a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and whirlpool. Recovery Room: This is a major advantage since the recovery room is currently only available at four locations. The add-on costs $9.99/month and includes: * 4 massage chairs (20-minute sessions) * 3 zero-gravity chairs * 2 Hyperice massage guns * Hyperice Normatec leg recovery boots The room is well air-conditioned and comfortable. The only downside is that it is located beneath the basketball courts, so the sound of bouncing basketballs can be quite loud and distracting at times. What I especially like is that there is no strict time limit on using the recovery room amenities. At another gym I visited, members had to reserve equipment in advance, and staff would activate each machine for a limited session. Once the timer expired, the massage chairs and recovery boots automatically stopped, requiring another reservation and staff activation. This location offers a much more flexible and user-friendly recovery experience.

Front desk receptionist are friendly and provide great service. My 24 hour membership was actually declined and i found out it was because my membership was changed from Nation wide access to just regional access. The receptionist was very understanding about this and let me in the gym still. Once inside, i do gotta say the layout of the gym is a little off. not a fan of the 1st floor and 2nd floor set up. But overall I had a good chest day. The top floor has enough bench presses and weights are very organized. People there are friendly and organized. It wasn't too busy at 6am and was able to do all my sets without waiting for machines. I was very impressed with the amount of squat racks they had. Lots of open spaces to stretch and do plyometric work. Lighting is good too as they have big windows overlooking 7th street and it's cross street. My experience here was really good.

So early last year I decided to make the jump from Planet Fitness to In-Shape Fitness in Natomas.I…read morewas ok with being a member at Planet Fitness but I reached a point where the amenities it was missing and that In-Shape offered were too much to ignore-so I made the switch and joined In-Shape. In-Shape is a pretty good gym-have many amenities, many classes,a lot of new equipment that I've seen them replace older machines with, this particular location is a multiple floor building and each floor has different areas for weights both free weights and machine weights.I would also say it never feels too overly crowded unless you get very unlucky and get there at the exact perfect moment. They have a dry sauna area and a steam sauna area-I heard but can't verify there is also a woman's only dry sauna in their locker room. There is also a full sized basketball court and racquet ball courts. They also have a rock climbing wall, they have multiple swimming pools, they have 2 massage chairs which are available for members to use. They have so many cardio machines-just about all types are available, from bikes to stair climbers to treadmills and others that I'm not so sure what they are called. All that being said, what I truly wanted to talk about was my favorite feature of this gym and that is the offerings of Pilates classes they have at this gym. They offer Pilates classes on Monday and Thursday evenings as well as 2 classes on Saturday mornings, which means a member could take up to 4 hours of Pilates a week if they were so inclined. This is part of your monthly membership-it's really great-not sure many other In-Shape locations offer so many Pilates classes at this time. On a personal note I would like to highlight one of the Pilates instructors Severine, she currently teaches the Monday and Thursday evening Pilates classes and let me just say she is wonderful. As a person who never took a Pilates class,I ended up signing up for her class after the encouragement of my wife who has taken her class for quite some time.I did so reluctantly thinking that as a 52 year old man, who doesn't know a thing about Pilates,it was going to be a horrifying experience. It was anything but,and that is all due to the wonderful instructor Severine. She went out of her way to make me,along with everyone else in the class feel so welcome, always offers lots of words of encouragement and plenty of tips to make the Pilates experience a better one.Her classes are always so fun,she generally goes out of her ways to make sure she knows the name of every single person who takes her class and always has a funny story to share with the class to make sure we dont get lost in the moment. She is the sole reason I have stuck to Pilates this long and the main reason I love being a member of this gym-she is a true asset to this location. In closing,if your in the market for a new gym experience I would without hesitation give this In-Shape location a shot-I feel you won't regret it.

At this point, I'd honestly be willing to bring my own net to get on someone's shoulders to install it. I just want to see the court fully usable again. Aside from this issue, I want to say that all of the employees have been very respectful, friendly, and welcoming, which I really appreciate.
