It's been about a year since I started working out with personal trainer, Karah, as well as some of the other classes offered. I've never felt or looked better. I can do things I never could before and it makes me feel proud. Karah is a really skilled trainer and always gives us a well rounded, full body workout that keeps ramping up as our athletic ability does. Each week, when I walk in the door after my work out, my husband asks, "How was work out?" The reply is simple, "It was hard! But GOOD!" I think that just about sums it all up, don't you? I've also taken classes offered by Nick, and every single time I go, he drops some serious knowledge about strength, form, posture, the body, etc. A few months ago, SH moved to a new location (closer to my house! bonus!) and I really like it. It's a big open space with squishy floors and lots of natural light. Every once in a while, SH offers other cool events like guided meditations on nights with full moons and walks by the lake. There are lots of things to try out here and I think every body should check it out. The prices are reasonable and well worth it. Overall, SH is such a positive and welcoming place! read more

I'm really excited to have been able to tag along w/ Ellie and Danielle to check out Superb Health. At first, I wasn't sure. No treadmills? No ellipticals? It's just a room with some weird ropes and big medicine balls and strange props? Some girl's going to tell me what to do and it's all circuits or whatever? What is this? What it is is awesome, my friends. One class in and already I'm hooked, and I'm sure I'll be returning with Ellie and the crew week after week on Monday nights. This... THIS... is just what I need to take my regiment to the next level. I mean, sure... I play derby, and I go to the gym and do my requisite half hour of cardio and core work 2-3 times a week, but this is a real challenge. This is how I'm going to TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL. Plyometrics, weight training, innovative cardio exercises... our class does it all. And it's not all "personal trainer screaming at you to keep going, or judging you for not having 7% body fat," either. It's encouraging and awesome and the vibe is really a good one. I dig. Worth noting is their group exercise classes held on the regular vary from yoga to intense "like the movie 300" workouts, so check their website and see what may appeal to you, and what classes are offered when and how much they run. (Not terribly expensive, and you can pay per class or buy packages.) Yay for Superb Health! I checked this place out last night. My friend goes for a group personal trainer session. There were four of us total in the class (not including the trainer). I think the thing I liked most about my experience is that it was an incredibly nonthreatening environment. It has been quite awhile since I have done any kind of working out so I was pretty intimidated before going but I really had nothing to worry about. The trainer, Kara was her name I think, was so great! I really liked the workout. It was kind of a circuit work out but not on machines or anything-we just had different exercises to do that Kara came up with. We never did anything for more than 40 seconds which was a AWESOME. I like the quick intervals because if you are not as good at doing one particular exercise you know you don't have to keep at it for very long. The 40 second intervals also made the class go by really quickly-I didn't at all have time to think about the fact that I was actually working out! Another thing I really liked was that you workout barefoot (or with socks). I think that over time this would really improve balance, leg and core strength. We did a lot of lunges and my legs hate me today but not so much that I wouldn't go back. They offer classes during the week that you can drop in on any time. Great experience! read more

I know my massive guns and killer calf muscles will make you think otherwise, but I'm not good at working out. Like most people, I get motivated for about a week, and then taper off until I, once again, am no longer exercising. (except for trips from the couch to the refrigerator!) And let me just say that I have had a few gym memberships in my life. They've all turned into what I lovingly refer to as my "fat tax" - money I gave away to fitness organizations to make myself feel better about not losing the few inches I wanted. Since I have joined Superb health, I have been a once-a-week regular with a fun group of girls. And get this - now, if we have a reason to cancel class (which we can reschedule to another night!) I actually want to do a workout on my own. Our trainer is Karah, and she is amazing. Every time is different and interesting. The workout isn't based on using machines. We do a lot of different circuit-training types of exercises using ropes, kettle bells, medicine balls, and our own body weight! She's very good at challenging all of us, but keeps in mind that we're at different levels of fitness. While we arranged for a personalized class for just our group of friends, Superb offers regular classes that are open for anyone to come in for. There's even a discount program. You can buy a punch card for a set price, and use it on different classes. I personally want to try the Saturday Adventure workout, but I work Saturday mornings! It sounds so cool! Check it out, and review it so I know what I'm missing. The studio is modern looking, and clean! Pricing is absolutely reasonable. Don't give up on those New Years resolutions, head on in to Superb Health! read more

Full disclosure: I knew the owner of Superb Health before I became a customer. However, if I didn't have anything positive to say, I just wouldn't write a review. This is honesty, folks. I began working out at Superb Health about a month ago. Some friends and I were interested in committing to some regular exercise. Superb Health seemed like the perfect choice because we were not interested in a judgmental gym-type setting nor did we feel motivated enough or smart enough about exercise to do it on our own. So we started training as a small group with Karah and (at least so far) I love it! I mean, I still generally dislike exercise, but I really look forward to Mondays because I feel good about myself, I enjoy spending the evening with my friends and Karah makes working out interesting and enjoyable. She clearly knows what she's doing, and I feel like she really cares about me and wants me to succeed. And the best part? It's really affordable! My advice if you're like me: you can do it. If you don't feel comfortable heading to a class on your own, look into getting a group of friends together and work out with a personal trainer like Karah. It's awesome! If you're braver than me, head to one of the scheduled classes they offer. If you're braver AND stronger than me, try one of Nick's serious-business classes and get your butt kicked! I don't know of any places like this in the Milwaukee area, so I'm super glad Superb Health exists. read more
