Jillian was super sweet and did an excellent job doing some maintenance on my brows and cleaning up my lip. I'd go so far as saying she is meticulous in a good way. She even has this wonderful soft hand pillow that she uses so that her hand is not constantly rubbing up against your face as she works. I'd never experienced that before and I loved it. I left TBS feeling like a new woman! If I lived in Calgary, I'd likely be a loyal customer of TBS / Jillian. She must be doing something right as she's been working there for almost 10 years! I had booked an appointment for noon and I had to wait about 15 minutes for my turn. They were really busy on Saturday. The pedicure was ok. Then it was time for my manicure. The guy in the shop did my manicure and did a terrible job of it. He was filing my nails wildly and I ended up fixing some nails that were not looking good. Then after he painted my nails, I looked closely at them and noticed he missed parts here and there and I saw fibers from the cotton balls mixed in the polish. What a mess. So he removed all the polish and started over. But he made a mess again. The one girl came over to finish my manicure and I was pleased with what she did. Overall it was pretty good and I'll most likely return as long as I don't have the guy do my mani pedi.

Hailan holds a very high standard for cleanliness and uses only high quality products. You never have to worry about what's being used on you. She has a number of books with nail designs for inspiration and she always has a new design to recommend for me at my appointment. She takes her time to ensure its amazing while many places rush you in and out. Her prices are fantastic. She is completely about hygiene and ensuring everything that can be sanitized correctly is and everything else is only used once (on you alone). She hand paints all her designs which is amazing to watch and she is also a big advocate for clients to know the difference between the products that can be used (including that solar gels are really just acrylics and a money grab). You can see how much she loves doing nails. I absolutely love my gel nails and will certainly be going back and I suggest you see her too :)
