I called yesterday about getting a haircut here. I'd never been here before in fact I didn't really know where it was! Turns out it was hiding in plain sight in the Home Depot center. Great news because it's close to where we live and I got an outstanding haircut by Tanyth. She was kind and quiet and REALLY focused. She was able to explain why I had been struggling to style my hair after a botched haircut from Cutters in Apple Valley. Tanyth gave me the stacked bob I wanted and it only took about 20 minutes!! I was very disappointed with my experience at Supercuts on Apple Valley Road. I had an appointment today at 1:30 for a shampoo and haircut. I brought a picture showing exactly how I wanted my hair cut and explained that I had been growing it out and wanted to keep the length in the back. I mainly wanted it shaped and the ends lightly trimmed. I have worn my hair in this style before, so I knew what I was asking for. From the beginning, I didn't feel that the stylist was really listening to me. She initially seemed unsure who was next and had to check the computer after asking whether I was with another customer who was waiting. She then suggested that I should have my hair shampooed, even though my appointment was already booked for a shampoo and cut. Instead of discussing the haircut I had requested, the conversation quickly turned to the condition of my hair and products she could recommend. I explained that I already have products I'm happy with and wasn't interested in purchasing more. She then showed me how much hair she thought should be cut off -- approximately four inches. That was exactly what I did NOT want. I specifically explained that I had been growing my hair out and wanted to keep the length. My ends did not feel to me as though they needed four inches removed. I was comfortable with a very small trim and wanted the style shaped like the photo I brought. At that point, I asked her to remove the cape and told her I was leaving. She seemed surprised, but I explained that I came in knowing how I wanted my hair cut. I understand a stylist making a recommendation, but ultimately I believe the customer should be listened to and should be able to decide how much of her own hair she wants cut off. This experience was also disappointing because on a previous visit to this same location, a different stylist recommended a conditioning treatment. I agreed because I had paid around $30 for similar treatments in the past. She began applying the treatment without first telling me the price. While she was applying it, I overheard her tell another person that many customers don't get that particular treatment because it costs $60. I would have appreciated being told the price BEFORE the treatment was started so I could decide whether I wanted to spend $60 on it. I also couldn't tell much difference in my hair afterward. I don't mind a stylist offering professional advice, but there is a difference between making a suggestion and not listening to what the customer is asking for. I came in with a picture, clearly explained that I wanted to preserve my length, and knew what haircut I wanted. I ultimately chose to leave rather than risk having several inches of hair cut off that had taken me months to grow. Unfortunately, after these two experiences, I don't feel comfortable returning to this location. read more

This is more than a review of a haircut, It's a review of the awesome people who work at this location (sorry I didn't get their names, but they know who they are). I came in for a simple cut, and the service and style were perfect. While I was there, a gentleman in a wheelchair came in to get his hair done (coloring I believe). He was confined to the wheelchair, so he was unable sit in the chair at the sink. The girl cutting my hair was discussing the options with him while finishing up with me. I didn't mind her engaging another customer, as I was curious how the process would work myself. She was very confident and assured the man that they would be able to help him. Unfortunately, I left and didn't see how the whole process turned out, but when you see people go out of their way and do whatever it takes to help people in difficult situations, it bears mentioning and they should be commended. I will always return to this location bcuz I know they care about their customers and they will do whatever it takes to make you happy. read more

I was afraid to get my hair highlighted here because it's a chain and I know they hire a lot of people who just finished beauty school. I figured I would just go since they were close to my house and could see me that day. I wanted an appointment within an hour and they were able to schedule me. Ana was the girl who did my hair and she listened to everything I had to say and to what I wanted. I was able to show her pictures and even look more up to make sure we were on the same page. I definitely recommend her to anyone who wants a great cut and color. She is a short Hispanic girl with curly hair. It took three hours to highlight and tone my hair. I was happy that she didn't rush me or take forever. She was quick and efficient without rushing. I love my hair and I will be back. read more

Literally no one waiting here and 2 stylists standing around and they said I have to wait and they have no idea how long. You have to call ahead to get a haircut? God forbid they're employees actually work...I mean I was the o my one in the lobby. Won't come back here again...no wonder they get such bad reviews. When i told her that I called yesterday and was told you could walk in I was never explained that it had to be the same day that I needed to call to walk in. I was desperately needing a haircut and after having bad experiences with other Supercuts locations as well as Great Clips, I was really hesitant on returning to another Supercuts. I even checked out more pricier salons that charge closer to double what Supercuts does if it meant getting my hair right. At the last minute, I decided to just give it one last shot at Supercuts since I was in the area. It was about a 30 minute wait, but Tanyth made it so worth it as she did exactly what I wanted to my hair. Next time I need a trim, I will return to her. :) She restored my faith in Supercuts! I have been a customer at this salon for the past 10 years. Today, 3-13-23, I called in advance to get a haircut. When I arrived, there were 2 people getting their hair done & only 2 stylists. I waited for at least 15 minutes while they finished with their customers & putzed around. They called the next person who was on the list AFTER me but told me I would be next. Prior to this, I never had a bad experience & when I called in advance I was always the next person taken. I happened to look at the list & saw they took the person listed after me. I drive from Silver Lakes to your store. As of today, all that has changed. If you don't want to have a call in service, then stop doing it. When I was walking out, the young lady said I was next but I saw that she had taken the person listed after me. The call-in service used to be a good thing but apparently no longer is. So in my recent experience this place has been losing focus on customer service. The haircuts I have received have been good but the overall experience has not been good. Recently I was not able to use my app because it was not working I decided to just drop in and see if I could get in. The first comment out of the one that greeted me was "what is your name? Well there are 5 ahead of you and it is going to be awhile". Not hello, we are busy right now but we we can put you on a list and come back in an hour, etc. I was treated like I was a burden to the making them more busy. I told her I do not want it too short just like the picture she just started cutting, I said don't you think you are cutting it to short, she said no I left almost in tears. she made me look like a boy. One of the finest vaginal steaming sessions I've had outside of my private gynecological examiner has been had at a Super Cuts. This place Sucks! I went to go get a hair cut. And they couldn't even do a simple cut or the "stylist" I had didn't know what she was doing. Got my cut I didn't like how it came out . Didn't realize they messed my hair up till I got home. Over priced for a basic cut. I don't know how they can hire such shitty hair stylist. Never going there again nor any super cuts sticking with my hair stylist from now on. If I can give them negative Stars I would. Pay the extra money and go to real professional stylist. read more
