We tried to do a walk-in today for a quick, basic trim for my husband. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We saw two stylist's and a receptionist in the salon. One stylist was working on a ladies hair, the other one was just walking around the salon and the receptionist had her head down looking very confused at the cash register with a man standing there apparently trying to check out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not one of them bothered to even glance in our direction. I was a bit miffed that I wasn't greeted coming in and that the girls just kept talking and talking while I stood there waiting but eventually my stupidest did greet me and get me into a chair. I only needed a simple trim/clean up and she did just that. No bells or whistles but that's about what I expect going to a Supercuts. She called the manager over because she didn't know how to handle it. They gave me the haircut for free, and sent me on my way. They did not inform me of the seriousness of the accident, they did not disinfect the cuts, and they did not advise me to seek medical treatment. And now my left ear is all messed up. Permanently. DONT DO IT!!! Seriously, I know it's convenient, I know it's close... but TRUST ME, you can do much better than here for a haircut. I used to go here regularly for my haircuts, but over the last six months, I've seen a steady decline in service and an increase in wait times. Ever heard of the cliche "you get what you pay for? Well I say it applies to this place. My experience was that it's cheap but that's exactly it...you get a "cheap cut" where it makes you feel rushed as you're just a number. The stylist was not receptive to what I wanted nor did she know how to do it even if she wanted to. read more

As others have noted, Yesenia is a rock star. It's always a crap shoot what you will get with Supercuts as a discount salon, but I got a great cut from Yesenia, who clearly had the experience to anticipate issues (she saw my cowlick right away and cut accordingly) and ask good questions. Lacee cut mine and my husband's hair and did a terrible job. We paid $50 for her to ruin my husband's hair and just cut a line straight across mine. I asked to have my split ends trimmed off. All of my hair isn't the same length, yet she just cut two inches off the bottom and I was charged for a full haircut even though I was in the chair for less than 5 minutes. This was less than a beard trim! My husband went back in to have his hair fixed and Lacee did a horrible job again. Lacee blamed this all on the fact that they don't have enough people working, but that should not affect her haircutting skills. That is no excuse for doing a horrible job. I'm editing my review to say that we have been here before and had similar issues. They obviously hire inexperienced people and the manager stands by their work. When my husband was getting his money back for his haircut, they were acting like it wasn't that bad. Just look at the picture. Who does that kind of work and says they're done? I used to go to this location a lot for my fiance to get his haircut and always had a positive experience so I went here Friday afternoon after I got off of work at 2:45pm. I went for a shampoo, haircut and eyebrow wax. I just needed a trim and wanted to get my eyebrows shaped due to a trip we were going on to visit family. I normally get my eyebrows done once or twice a year and keep more of a regular maintenance on my own. The stylist who took care of me was nice, but was not very thorough. She did my eyebrow wax and waited until it was done to ask me if I use any acne products or products that contain retinol. I said no, not that I know of. She proceeds to tell me that I may unknowingly use these products due to the fact that a thin layer of my skin came off when waxing my eyebrows. She told me that it should look a little less bad then next day. Unfortunately, she was wrong. The rest of the visit was ok, a tad bit uncomfortable to be honest due to the fact that I didn't quite know what to say or do after what had happened. I paid once my haircut was done and left. Normally, I am not one to write a lengthy or negative review but I thought it might be a good idea to warn anyone who goes here for there first eyebrow wax or first one in quite awhile to be careful. My lesson was learned to stick to where I normally go and to probably get them done more like a week before any special events or trips rather than a few days. read more

I'm not sure what's going on with this place but I have been going here for a few years and prices have more than doubled. A regular haircut is now $27 when it was once close to $15 not even a couple years ago. If you want to keep your loyal clients, stop raising the prices so often. Almost everytime I return for a haircut (every 2 months) the price has gone up. Not good business practice if you ask me! read more

Our family strongly believes in things happen for a reason.... we had a bit of a wait for stylists but it was certainly worth the wait for Yesi. Our boys were in need of a much needed haircut while on vacation. Our youngest is diagnosed with Autism. Haircut trips always depend on his specific mood and whether he is in to it that day or not. Today he was in between moods. Yesi didn't skip one beat with him; if he turned, she turned, if he scooted down, she went down. She took every opportunity she got to cut his hair with out causing him distress. She was engaging and reassuring with him. She was kind and most of all she was patient. He gets scissor cuts (because of hair type and type of style we get for him) and has only been cooperative a handful of times with the clippers for finishing touches. He let Yesi clean up his cut with clippers despite saying it tickled. His haircut came out perfect! We HIGHLY recommend Yesi for your kiddos especially those with special needs. Needed a quick cut for some Holiday pictures and stumbled upon this place. I walked in assuming it would be a long tedious wait, but to my surprise it was basically walk in and sit down. So, what makes this place special? Well, they had five stylists working the floor. Apparently in San Diego, Supercuts is prohibited by law to have more than two stylists at a time...Sheesh. It's fast service But cut was awful. Took less than 5 minutes to do. Didn't realize how bad the cut was till my husband said, "looks like she just chopped into it." Took too much off. Looks like she got a pair of scissors and gave me a long bowl cut. I have long hair so it takes a long time to grow. I really liked it but it needed a trim. Wish I just sucked it up and spent more money somewhere else, because this will take a few months to grow out. And the shape is just awful. I have been here before without issues but I guess it really depends who you get. The price has gone up a lot in the last few years, but on the positive, the front desk ladies are always very nice. I would not recommend anymore unless you were male looking for a simple cut or a child. If you're female and love your hair- not the place to go! Sucky experience. I also tipped. Stupid of me. Prices edged up a bit since my last visit 8 months earlier. $18 for a men's cut. Save $1.05 if you're over 60, I think. Not entirely unpleasant, although the hair cutter seems to be anywhere else and was not conversant or particularly solicitous. The funny thing is that, in another 6-9 months.
