I'd had one bad experience since moving and was still searching for a stylist when I received a coupon for a free cut and styling at A Sharper Image. I made an appointment and had a fantastic experience with Lisa. She took the time to really understand what I wanted my hair to look like and melded that with her knowledge of my hair type, and we achieved an outstanding result. She also gave me styling tips to keep it looking great. Funny, but somehow all of these years, no one told me how to best style my hair! This is the best my hair has looked in years. So, it was a free trial and I was so pleased, I will be going back to Lisa for as long as she's doing hair.

Visited again April 2026 for…read morethe same cut, with $20 in coupons, requesting again that it be long enough to neatly pull back into a low pony. Lisa insisted in cutting it with a center part even though my part is way over on the left side. Lisa shaved part of my neck, I found this odd. I did not request a blow out during this visit. When I left and my hair dried, I couldn't get it all into a low pony it was cut too short and extremely uneven, considerably shorter on the right side and the bottom two inches appears chopped more than layered. I texted Lisa and she apologized for cutting it too short and she suggested that my hair may have appeared chopped or layered due to hair loss following surgery. I am a medical professional and Telogen Effluvium is a diffuse hair loss, and does not cause a chopped or layered effect. Lisa suggested that if I wasn't happy it would be best not to come back. I called and left 2 messages with Wendy, the owner. She never called e back. I then emailed Wendy the owner and received an email that a check was sent in the mail with "sorry" and a request from her husband to stop harassing them. I asked for not only the money back for the botched haircut but also for a correction haircut since neither Lisa C or Wendy the owner offered that to me. I did receive the money for the haircut but not the correction. Under FL etiquette and consumer practices either Lisa C or the owner, Wendy should have extended an offer for me to come in for a complimentary assessment and correction/revision. Since my cut was a technical error, it is a standard industry practice for a reputable salon to correct it free of charge within 1 to 2 weeks.
