I usually get annoyed with hair dressers who chop off all my hair because they're lazy and because they try to make me talk (usually to sell themselves...). Minolo had an authentic, real and empathetic personality that I have never encountered in this business. He kept the length of my hair so well and it looks even better. I have never been happier walking out of a salon. Some extra feedback: I live 5hrs away in Brooklyn, NY and stayed upstate for the weekend (as I usually do every few months). I found this place by chance on my way to Guitar Center. I have a few Paul Mitchell products and I like them over the several I've tried (esp. "Super Skinny" serum for my frizzy and wavy/curly hair) - so I decided to walk in. I would definitely come back for Minolo, he treated me like a human being and he is very skilled at what he does. This salon has a lot of integrity. I never walked into a salon like this in my whole entire life. I am really grateful to encounter such wonderful human beings.

Having recently moved to the area within the year, in my hunt for a forever salon I had had several bad experiences with a stylist who just didn't listen and wanted to use my head as a canvas for their "edgy" (Read: Impractical and plain ugly) cuts and colors. My friend assured me that Rachel excelled at listening and interpreting your hair wishes. She was right on! Rachel took upwards of 10 minutes on our consult - examining the prior color in my hair, its texture and weight, looking at pictures I had brought. She advised me in what was and wasn't practical with my thick, wavy hair. I felt valued and trusted her to give me what I wanted. I am on a tight budget, and I appreciated that she went to real trouble to ensure that my highlights would look natural as they grew out - buying me a few extra weeks. The prices were competitive with other salons in the area, a little over $100 for a cut and highlight. So, actually on the low end pricewise. It was entirely worth every penny. I couldn't be happier. I will be a client there as long as I live in Albany.

Layers started at the same length as my bangs. When asked if I wanted to trim any length and I said just the tips, she proceeded to cut a whole inch off. The only thing she did right was the bangs. She blow dried my hair and was struggling with certain sections, in her words "i don't know what's going on with this side, but some sides just will remain straight no matter what you do" continues to randomly cut sections of my hair to compensate what it looks like.

I went in to dye my hair from natural brown with bleached ends to a rich, dark black. Cherri did a terrific job with the initial dye, but once I stepped out into the sunlight, I noticed the ends (where the blonde was) were looking significantly richer black than the rest of my hair(more mocha brown). I'm usually not one to complain and felt nervous calling back, but the front desk immediately put my anxiety at ease and made sure I knew they were happy to fix it. Cherri fit me into her busy schedule just a couple of hours later to apply another layer of black dye. The final result was a seamless, completely uniform black, and I was so thrilled! To top it off, Paige helped out and did an excellent job curling my hair. I am so relieved, grateful, and beyond happy with my hair.
