Went here on a Mother's Day. I had to drop off my daughter around the area and had to wait so i decided to get a haircut and found SuperCuts. First of all, She ruined my hair.. i couldn't complain because it was already done. She couldn't do a bob cut that i wanted from the picture i showed her. She cut too short that It left a big V-shaped looking on my side profile. At the beginning and towards the end, she was spraying my hair profusely with spray bottle that my ears also got wet. When she finished, she showed me my back and told her to please cut some more because it was odd-looking, so she did. When she's was all done, she asked "is there anything else I can do for you?" And i said no thank you. I stood up from the chair and paid. Left the salon with my hair soaking wet. She didn't blow dry my hair that's still sopping wet. Called at open, 10:00 AM. no answer. Called back 10:05. Answered. OK. No big deal. Found out that my favorite haircutter would not be in till 1:00 PM. OK. Reserved for service from that person in particular at 1:00 PM. Receptionist confirmed that this was duely recorded in the schedule: name and time. Later got a reminder email saying "See you at 1 pm". OK Good, thought I, like an idiot. What could go wrong? Showed up at exactly 1 PM by the clock and the haircutter was there but already at starting work on someone else. She said "You'll be my next customer". Asked how long the wait would be. She said "20 minutes or so." (a whole haircut).I said "But I had a reservation". She said proudly "We don't take reservations." That was not true but now I was furious and will never, never, never go back. Stay away unless you think sitting around their shabby crowded waiting room reading old magazines is a pleasant use of time. In my life, I've experienced three kinds of hairdressers: One who listens to their customers and does what they can to please them, one who argues with their customers, but still cuts well, and one who pretends to listen, but cuts whatever they want to. This time I got the last one. Although I described what I wanted and showed her with my hands, she did something completely different that does not look good with my face. This after she'd verified that I wanted the same style I had already, but trimmed up. Although she said she'd worked there for five years, I don't believe her. If she hasn't learned to listen, then she's either new or is slated for some other career. The last hairdresser I got was the first kind. I loved how my hair ended up and got unsolicited compliments for the next several weeks from friends and strangers alike. This is the style I wanted trimmed up. On Saturday, I went to Supercuts on E. Washington. There was no line and I was helped IMMEDIATELY by the wonderful Jazmin. She was quite outgoing and friendly, exuding a great sense of her clientele. I described a certain style and for her to use "oster" clippers. She immediately knew who to ask and what to ask. You would think she was a member of the Oster family!! She gave me one of my best haircuts and my wife really liked it. If she really likes it, then you know its got to be great!! I cannot recommend Jazmin STRONGLY ENOUGH. Using the app to get yourself on the wait list is a waste of time! I have limited time, so if I can minimize the wait I will... I work in DTLA and live in Arcadia and thought I would come to this Supercuts bc I have had fairly decent luck with the random hair stylist. Never again will I come back!!!!! They made we wait 40 minutes, though I was on the list. They claimed that since I did not indicate a specific hair stylist, that I would have to wait to be serviced after people with "no Appt " came in requesting a specific person. If I was first I should be first. Those other people should wait and would most likely wait a long time for a specific person. They could have cut my hair in the amount of time I waited..... still waiting. Will see if wait time goes up. Will update later. Well, I'm back and still waiting.... Only productive thing was that I was able to purchase American Crew gell on Amazon for $17, whereas, Supercuts sells the exact same thing for $33.50. I would have left after 15 minutes but I NEED a haircut!!!!! Haircut took 22 minutes and wait time was 35 minutes. I changed my review from 1 to 3 starts bc Elva was great! I have been meaning to write this review for a while, but I have been putting it off for personal reasons. To preface this review, I am the type of person that goes to "one person" for everything. My mechanic, my hair stylist, etc. Anyways, more than 2 years ago I discovered a hair stylist at this establishment named Tiffany and I have to say that I received the best haircut of my life that day and I continue to every time I see her for a haircut. No joke, since I discovered Tiffany I haven't seen any other hair stylist since. Sadly, one day Tiffany had a freak accident and was out of work for many months. Those were very bad times, very much for Tiffany but also for me in a minor way: I tried to find another hair stylist like Tiffany but to no avail; I had found nobody who cuts hair with such flawless excellence as Tiffany does. However, thankfully, many months later Tiffany came back to the establishment and like old friends who reunite, it was as if nothing at happened and Tiffany had cut my hair with the same quality as she always had: beyond excellent and incredibly. To all the other hairdressers of this fine establishment, no offense. I am an incredibly picky person when it comes to professionals who I see regularly for services, and for me Tiffany was a perfect fit. For all potential customers, please try Tiffany. I watched 3 people go ahead of me who had come in the door after me. After 20 minutes I left because they clearly don't know how to honor appointments. The girl who works at the front desk here is a total airhead. She doesn't have any customer service skills. I called asking if they have time to cut layers, I mentioned I have tape in extensions and if that would be an issue and she said "we don't do extensions here" so I then repeated myself and said I have tape in extensions. I don't want them, I already have them and just want to know if that would be an issue for cutting layers in my hair. She then said "ummm if they are hard to brush then yes" and I said no I brush my hair everyday with them in. Then I tried to explain to her how tape in extensions are placed in the hair so she understands and she said "I know what extensions are". Then why are you asking stupid questions?? Ahahaha she kept saying "umm idk. I guess we can do it.." she had the worst attitude talking on the phone when I just genuinely wanted to know if I can get my haircut and asked a simple question. I then just told her "it sounds like you have no idea what you are talking about. It's fine" and I hung up. Worst customer service skills. I called at 5:37pm September 18th. So whoever was working front desk that day should definitely not be working front desk. I understand a lot of business are struggling to find workers right now so they are desperate and trying to hire anyone but hiring anyone is hurting the business at the end of the day. I live in Hollywood, but was house-sitting in Altadena, and needed a haircut. Not having won any lottos lately, I went to my usual go-to source, Supercuts. This particular shop has a cool service, Call Ahead, which can cut seriously into your wait time. I had a vague idea of what I wanted, and I'm sharp enough to know that you don't hand them a photo of some celeb and expect to look like that -- you'll get the haircut but you'll be magically transformed into you. I'd picked out a couple of styles that suited me (roundish face, shortish neck). The stylist looked them over and said, "No, these aren't that good for you. I've got a better idea, trust me." Being not even close to a fashionista, I did -- and got probably the best haircut of my life! It moved, it was sassy and it suited me. I totally like this salon, and trek out from Hollywood to go there. Clean, modern, friendly, with a minimal wait, and good styles? I'm there! Once I even called in, they told me to go ahead and come in and they'd handle me right away, I show up five minutes later and get told it'll be an hour. Today was another hour late. Just over it. I would not suggest this place to a blind person. Absolutely no customer service. The staff is terrible- All of them. Cecilia, Martha, and the entire team. I wish I could tell all this to the franchise owner of this place. I have had a couple of bad experiences in the past at this place, but today it was the third strike. I am never going there again.
