We have been coming to this supercuts for 2 years now. Ever since we moved from the mainland, my husband and son need to find a barber asap cause they get a haircut every 2 weeks. We need to find a place where it's not so expensive and can do a good job. As soon as you walk in, you will be greeted by at least one stylist. It's always so busy here so they also call out "we'll be right with you!". They have an app where you could check in to your chosen time and choose your stylist. It's not an appointment but it gives the stylists an idea what time you'll be coming in so they can be sure to be available for you around that time. There might still be a little bit of a wait, but it's better than not checking on the app at all because you have priority over the people who are just walking in. You will notice that they keep the place really clean, neat, and tidy. You won't see any hair on the ground chillin cause they sweep it up right away. Bathroom is clean too, and well stocked. We love all the stylists here, they are friendly and they know what they're doing. We'll be sure to keep coming back here. read more

My son responds "I cant tell you where I live" and then he proceeds to ask if he lives in the area. Like dude! Do your job and Cut hair. After showing him a SIMPLE photo, he was still confused. Dumbing it down and I finally got the picture across enough for him to comprehend. His response "im not a barber". Just fire him. If you really dont like your job, stay home. Located in the same parking lot across from Manana longs and petco, on the same side as yamagen, hana tea and AT&T, across the main street from walmart, there was only one hairdresser to cut hair. The hairdresser was really nice, but she only could cut one way. She cut the same way as the lady before me, and the hair in back of her head didn't look too nice. Even as my hair is growing out, it still feels weird in the back because there seems to be 3 layers for the bob cut. The most outer layer was cut halfway up my head, the middle layer is cut long and the inside layer is cut short so the hair doesn't hold together to be able to make a ponytail. The back of my head looks really messy or not even. Don't think I will be going here again. read more

I took my 5-year-old daughter for her first haircut and asked for a simple trim with light layers--not a blunt cut. The stylist started using clippers, which scared my daughter, especially when they got close to her face. She began crying out of fear. I asked if she could just use scissors, but the stylist refused, saying she'd cut her fingers because my daughter's hair was "too slippery." Even when my daughter politely asked for scissors, the stylist kept insisting it wasn't possible. She finally grabbed the scissors, made one uneven snip, and said, "OK, done." What was supposed to be a minor trim ended up as a butchered cut. My daughter's long, beautiful hair--down past her bottom--was left uneven and choppy. We didn't want it cut short, but I had to fix it myself at home. I paid $30 for an upsetting, careless experience. If someone is a licensed hairdresser, they should know how to work with all hair types, including children's fine or slippery hair. Upon arrival I made an appointment online for the next available for a haircut with shampoo and found it first very convenient as there were many time frames available on a weekend. Having the flexibility to do so and get a haircut spontaneously helped as mothers know it's sometimes hard to plan around our toddlers schedule. I have been here to this location more than a few times but this time I was very impressed with the quality and services provided. I wanted at least 3-4 inches off to create a bob cut needing a change after a life altering event and Tina was so wonderful. Her customer service was top notch and she was very sweet and kind to me and I loved my cut and styling! The vibe there was peaceful and relaxing and the shampoo tea treatment was much needed and smelled amazing. My girls decided that they wanted to cut their hair shorter. We were already out doing some errands. So i looked up on yelp to find the closest place for kids hair cut.This location is located right across the street from pearlcity walmart. PARKING: Dont worry about parking because its HUGE. It will get kind of busy now that the new foodland opened. The wait wasnt that long. Had mayne 3-4 people before us. I really dont get why kids hair cut are kind of pricey. $20 is worth it if you cut a whole lot but the youngest thats 5 just trimmed her hair like half an inch and it was a set price. I feel maybe they should price the kids hair cuts off of what they do with it. The lady who was doing her hair sprayed her hair till it looked like she walked out of the shower, & to top if off after she was done cutting her hair she was done, didn't atleast dry it or style it. This a review of the Supercut in the Aiea shopping center. I there about 2 months ago, had a terrible experience with the only male barber there. Apparently he had his own idea of what my hair should be styled like. I came in there with a middle part, told him my usual stylist uses a #3 on the sides and the just blends the top in. Told him no hair gel please, just comb it back. When he was done he had me in a side comb with some super thick extra hold type gel in my hair, and he asked me how do I like it. I told him again I use a middle come, and I comb my hair back with no gel. He seemed insulted that I did not agree with his cut. Seems he wasn't listening when I told him how I'd like my hair cut, or even took notice whether I had a side or middle part. This was the most terrible cut I've ever had. I knew I should've had him cut my hair, as I usually don't like male barbers. But this guy was something else. Not listening to what I said and not taking notice of how I came in. I asked if I could have a haircut assuming there wouldnt be anyone there at this time. I was put on hold and heard that they don't want to take anyone in anymore since it was almost 9. When returned, I was told that they couldn't take me in because there was someone coming in for an appointment and that they closed at 9. So I said thank you as I said goodbye. As I was going home, I stopped by the pharmacy next door to pick up some medication. I was curious to see if the Supercuts really had a customer or not. To my disbelief, I saw 3-4 workers talking as they were tidying up the place to close. (This time was about 8:30-8:35ish). I don't know about anyone else but the typical time spent on cutting my hair is equal to or less than 20min. Ps. Passed by again on the way out to see the employees sitting on the chairs talking to each other. She tricked my daughter by saying " I'm going to style it " my autistic daughter said ok not knowing she was being conned for $32. So I told her no I specifically said the $38 dollar haircut. I think we all have been Supercuts at least once in our life time because either your go-to salon was booked or you're dying to get a haircut. Did you know you can check-in to Supercuts through their website? I'm not taking about yelp check-in. You can check-in to secure your time slot so you can minimize your wait. But of course I didn't check in so I came an hour later and there was a little bit more of waiting. No problem. The two ladies who were working here were very nice and accommodating. While I was waiting I over heard the word coupon and I quickly signed up to get $2 off. That's a deal. Women's haircut is $20 but $2 off. Totally worth it. As for the haircut it was few inches trim which turned out fine. They offer complimentary warm towel. This is place is fairly new so very clean and well kept. Review update: great cut today. I decided last minute to get my hair cut today. I did a quick check in online with the Supercuts app. Once I arrived, I had to wait 4 minutes tops before I was seated by a stylist. I didn't catch her name, but she pulled up my hair cut preferences from their system and she confirmed the preferences with me. To top off the expert/friendly service, she used a hot towel to wipe off any residual hair pieces. This service and the resulting cut is why I am a repeat customer of this Supercuts location... Had a scheduled appt waited 45 -55 minutes to get hair cut. They need to schedule their workers better. Bc one person's shift ended at 2 and the next worked didn't come in at 3, which leaves one worker by themselves for one hour. Which is why we waited so long! Definitely will be complaining to corporate about this. Also someone did a color on someone and it was horrible! We laughed to ourselves. It looked like boxed hair color lol. read more

My visit was on 5/14/16. DO NOT GO HERE FOR COLOR ESPECIALLY WITH CATHY! I went to the Supercuts Pearl City near my house. I was a walk-in and I understood that I would have to wait a few hours. 1. it's a weekend 2. I didn't have an appointment. I waited about 1 1/2 hours, checked in around 1:55pm and got seated around 3:30pm. The manager Donna assigned me to Cathy. Cathy right away started saying that I should have made an appointment if I didn't want to wait so long. I didn't even say anything to her. Then she starts asking what I wanted to do. I told her light brown Ombre. She saw the picture I had, and she said that she couldn't make it exactly like the photo. I told her I understood, but I wanted it light brown. She conversed with me about how blonde won't be nice for my hair but she'll do brown. Yes, that's exactly what I wanted. She proceeds to do my hair and half way through putting foil, she removes the bottom layer saying, "Oh it's Blonde." I was so shocked! She kept saying that when she washes my hair it'll darken. She kept reassuring me through the process that it'll look great and to trust her. If the color was to light for me she would darken it. As she finished my top. She took another customer, so she had me sit and wait 20min. I was so worried that my hair would turn blonde. Donna who had the chair next to me, asked if I was okay, I just nodded. I was so scared on how my hair was going to turn out. When she returned she told me to sit and wait more because it was brown. I told her I wanted it brown. So she removed the foils. After washing my hair, I wanted to cry. It was golden yellow! The top left of my hair was a rusty brown, the color that I wanted! She kept saying how beautiful it was and how nice it'll be when it dries. She kept referring to me as "my project." I felt so disregarded as a client, customer, or even guest. I was so irritated when she finished and told Donna that her project is done. I told her that it's blonde and it's to light. She kept telling me that it's fine and that it would be more money today to make it darker. ( She was trying to get off of work already and she kept pushing for me to leave my hair as it was). She kept saying that it would take to long and sitting in a chair for a long time wasn't easy for me. It really seemed as if she was trying to make the situation benefit me when it was really so she could get out of fixing my hair. She starts cutting my hair while complaining about how ugly the ends are and she'll fix it. She chopped off my thinned out tips. I asked her for bangs and she said "no, your bangs are fine and I'll just take a little off." At that point I just wanted to walk out and leave. She then put conditioner in my hair so my now BLONDE hair doesn't frizz. As I was paying she kept saying that now I can make it whatever color I wanted: Pink, purple, green, or light brown. I was in shock, all I wanted was light brown. I paid and left. I will not be returning there again. I was advised by family and friends to go back and demand them to correct it or have a refund but I honestly don't trust them to do anything right. Total: Color + Cut + Tip = $170 UPDATE: MON 05/16/2016: After much convincing by my boyfriend. We went back to SuperCuts and Donna the manager was there to speak with us. She was apologetic about the situation. She asked me if Cathy showed me the color chart, I said no. (I wasn't aware there was a color chart). She issued me a refund for the color ($130). Donna is very nice and helpful. She persistently asked if there was anything she could do to make the situation better. In the end I was just glad I have my money back. Lesson learned. read more

The Worst experience ever! I requested trim with a slight layer for my long hair. A Korean stylist made some recommendations about the style but yet insulted how damage my hair was. She refused to layer and wanted to cut more than 5 inches to cut off the damage in order for her to layer and style my hair. My hair was layered before and it could have been doable without cutting 5 inches off! I gave this place many chances, and I definitely will never go back and recommend others not to do so. Horrible experience today with a hairdresser I normally do not see. Maria was out today, so I had to be seen by an older Asian lady. I told her I wanted a trim and with long layers, she started using razor for my layers, I told her no razors please and she said well you asked for layers I said I prefer the scissors she asked me if I was scared?! WTF! I said politely no I just don't like the way it looks when it's cut with the razors. I asked her to layer with scissors and please don't use razors. So okay she started cutting away layers with scissors, at this point I don't think she was even paying attention to the layers because she just kept cutting away as if there was no tomorrow. I have been looking for a hair stylist for years. Because I have thick Polynesian hair I don't just trust anyone with my hair. I have had several bad experiences. I meet Chelsea many years ago and when I found out she is working supercuts I had to make an appointment. She is highly referred by so many people. All it took was one visit with Chelsea and I'm hooked. Literally it's like I come to see her weekly now. She is such and artist. She does amazing work. She turns me out every single time. Words cannot express how thankful I am very single time she does my hair. I feel like a new woman. A woman with confidence and beauty. I attached several photos of her work. I'm the red head. Zero stars!!! Apparently booking an appointment means nothing. I called around 245 and booked a highlight appointment for 430. I get there and the Korean lady at the front tell me she doesn't have an appointment and am I sure I called the right number? I told her yes, showed her my phone, and then she asks the other stylist (white middle aged woman) if she booked someone for 430. The other woman says yes and the first woman proceeds to tell her they're overbooked and I need to come back another day. Umm... what!?!! I told her I don't understand because I called and schedule it... how are they now overbooked? And I cannot just come back as I live on the other side of the island. The Korean woman then throws the other stylist under the bus by saying "oooo... she's new and old age so she doesn't know what she's doing." Wow... nice. No offer of a solution. I mean I'm already there... they could've squeezed me in or offered some type of discount if I was willing to come back. Nothing. I left because obviously they're incompetent.... I don't want them touching my hair and screwing that up too. I always get the perfect hair cut. I don't ask for anything fancy. I just want it cut straight with long layers and trim my bangs. Easy right? The stylist isn't super talky, but very friendly and patient. They have a special deal/gift card good for 2 cuts for $30, so I save a little which is always nice. Depending on the day, the wait can be about half an hour or not wait at all. You can utilize the Supercuts app, but it told me that there wasn't a wait and I ended up waiting 20 minutes. ugh. I think the other people had appointments so I had to wait for one of them to finish. I don't mind. I didn't think to make an appointment. Not to mention she did it in a timely manner & all for a reasonable price. As for my make up, I wanted to go natural & she delivered. This is the most prettiest natural look I've ever had done on me. It doesn't look like I have foundation caked on & yet it gives me a slight dramatic look that brings out my natural eye color. Sometimes you have to revisit a business years later to remind yourself of why you never returned... Supercuts is a perfect example of this. When I was a teenager they gave me the ugliest haircut anyone could ever imagine (location was where Tea Time Taiwan currently is in Pearl City). My cousin had to drive me back there and yell at the workers to get them to fix my hair. So why after all these years did I decide to return and bring my mom here to the new pearl city location several weeks ago? 1) she was in desperate need of a haircut and 2) she refused to let me make an appointment where haircuts started at $40 (I'm glad she doesn't know how much my haircuts costs!) So off to Supercuts we went, where a haircut for senior citizens is just $18. They only take appointments the day of, so I called at 9am for a 2pm appointment with a stylist I kept seeing pop up in other Yelp reviews. We got there before 2 and checked in. The receptionist asked if I wanted any stylist and I said I scheduled it with a specific one. She then told us to have a seat. It's very difficult to get my mom out of the house let alone wait for any type of appointment which is why I scheduled one. After waiting & seeing a handful of people getting their haircuts who walked in after us I walked up to the receptionist and asked when my mom would be seen and she said maybe in about 10 minutes (this is when she decides to tell me the stylist is running behind). She then asked if I wanted another one (after we've waited for 30 minutes). I asked how much longer it would be, & she responded the same amount of time.. so I told her we'd just stick to the one I made an appointment with. My moms haircut came out ok, nothing worth waiting 45 minutes to be seen for & a pretty disappointing outcome compared to the high review ratings. I learned at the register while I was paying that it's $2 extra to request for a stylist. I think after waiting so long for the appointment they should have waived that fee, or even to begin with I would have appreciated if they could have said something about that particular person running behind, I would have opted for another stylist. That is why appointments are made after all, right?! I mean all my moms doctors don't make us wait that long & this is just Supercuts. One day I looked in the mirror and I realized my hair was trying to eat my face! I quickly decided I needed to get a haircut. So I decided I'd go to supercuts becauuse it's literally five minutes away from my house. But anyways. This location ROCKS! I came during the day so there wasn't anyone getting their hair done. So that meant I had three of the stylists talking to me and making suggestions on what to do with my hair. I ended up having Eilleen who by the way is the bomb. She was super nice and made me feel very at ease. She also made me feel like we were friends forever. I barely had to give her any direction and she made my hair look and feel great! She even let me try some of the products so I knew which one to buy. By the way the hair spray I bought smelled like ginger and made my hair soft AND not frizzy. It was awesome. Oh and she also did my eye brows. Throughout the entire waxing process she kept asking me if I was okay and if it hurt and if the wax was too hot. Now during this whole session I had my hair cut and styled, my eye brows waxed and I bought some hair product. At any other salon that would be a hundred bucks right? Not here it was only 50 dollars. For 50 dollars I got a quality hair cut, awesome brow wax and amazing hair spray.
