He came back and looked at again and said the "closed compressor" was shot and said he was new and didn't know how to replace a closed compressor. He estimated a repair cost of $700. The refrigerator cast $700 new (9 years ago). $200 wasted and a whole freezer full of food gone. The tech was a nice guy. He recommended that I go to a used appliance store to buy one for less. I don't think I want someone else's problem. BTW Do not buy SAMSUNG. They don't stand behind their appliances. (Costco had the same size Whirlpool for $700 which is working perfectly.)

Their quote was more affordable than the others, and when they came to the house and diagnosed the issue, it was what they thought --an inlet valve. All while handling everything under warranty. Owning a small business, they went out of their way to rearrange their service calls to get us help as soon as possible (on multiple occasions). This was also during the Thanksgiving holiday which made it even more difficult, but they still found a way to fit us in. Even when the manufacturer created more obstacles, they came out on their own time to fix the issue, simply to help us make things right.
