The positives are they are communicative and on top of scheduling. The technician arrived on time and did a inspection of the dryer.He said everything was working properly. Also, suggested cleaning the back of the dryer for any excess lint that might need cleaning. I agreed because I was hoping it would solve the issue. unfortunately, it didn't make a difference. I have updated to three stars due to one of the two issues being it not cooling was repaired. And the other (ice maker) was not repaired but was communicatated that the motor was out and they would replace it if I wanted it done. I opted not to as the part is pricey. I believe this company is honest and pricing is fair. But I think customer service and communication. And expectations on customer could use improvement. Water Leak & Millions of Mold Spores. After having Starfix complete a repair we have experienced property damage, loss of use of part of our home, out-of-pocket inspection costs, laundromat expenses, and no meaningful resolution in sight. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering Starfix to ask very detailed questions about how repair-related damage claims are handled, their licensing status, and what happens if something goes wrong after their work is completed. We hired Starfix to replace our washer water pump on February 16th. Upon the first use of the washer after that repair, a severe water leak occurred that spread through our laundry room, garage, hallway, and bathroom walls. When Armen came out to inspect the leak, he did not identify himself as the owner. When I had initially reached out on Yelp his response stated they are licensed yet as of recent searches I have been unable to find Armen or Starfix on Arizona's ROC site. Armen has deferred to insurance rather than stepping in to help rectify the situation directly while the claim has been delayed over a month's time. A restoration company first inspected the damage on March 2nd and a second inspection took place on March 4th with the restoration company and the insurance adjuster. We submitted the remediation company report and quote to Next Insurance on March 5th, and the insurance adjuster submitted his report to Next on March 6th. Despite having that documentation no timely claim determination or approval for mitigation costs was provided while conditions continued to worsen. We paid $800 out of pocket for a microbial inspection on March 16th as high levels of moisture remained in the walls for the entire month while the claim remained unresolved. The report found extremely high mold levels consistent with recent water damage. The hallway wall cavity sample showed 1,200,000 total fungal spores per cubic meter of air, compared to an outside baseline of 370, including 970,000 Penicillium/Aspergillus-like spores and 27,000 Chaetomium spores. Mold exposure is well documented to be associated with respiratory and allergic symptoms, and can pose greater concern for people who are immunocompromised such as myself. The report stated that remediation should begin right away. Remediation was estimated at approximately $9,500. Starfix's insurance company has taken the position that we should have remediated sooner to prevent further damage or involved homeowners insurance. That is completely unacceptable. No upfront remediation cost should occur or outside insurance should be involved due to a leak that began immediately after Starfix's repair. The claim process has caused an extreme amount of stress, time and energy. On March 20th we were told there may be another 30-45 days before any determination. We were also told microbial-related issues were not covered, despite the fact that the microbial growth followed the leak that occurred immediately after the repair. There were also repeated issues around the adjuster report, including being told it had not been received even though the adjuster had proof it was submitted. I wish I had done more research before hiring Starfix, and I hope others do before making the same decision so they do not end up facing the same financial burden, disruption, and mold-related health concerns that followed our experience. read more

diagnosed our fridge, replaced the compressor but didn't bother to check for a blockage in the line so installing the compressor was a waste of time because they don't fix blocked lines so now we have to get someone else that can perform the work completely. Didn't have to pay for the repair but did pay $75. Initially for the diagnoses which was pointless. I pointed out at their initial visit that I had diagnosed it was 1 of 3 things, 1 compressor 2 leak 3 blocked line. It is always possible for a compressor to fail and push something into the lines, I showed him a picture of the inside coils with ice only on the top right which the tech took A picture but disregarded the fact it could be blocked and failed to say that he couldn't fix it. I believe they just rolled the dice with replacing the compressor and took the gamble to get the $700 payday for the few hours work. I asked brought up to the tech why did he not check the lines when he had it apart, he proceeded to ignore what I said three times and diverted from that topic and never answered. 42 days of unresolved water damage! Be careful hiring Starfix. What started as a washer repair turned into water damage through multiple parts of our home after the first use of the washer following their repair. Since then, this has turned into over a month of ongoing damage, inspections, out-of-pocket costs, laundromat trips, and no real resolution. We had inspections done in early March, reports were submitted, and still Starfix insurance has delayed the claim and caused the situation to get worse. We ended up paying $800 for a microbial inspection, which found 1,200,000 fungal spores/m³ in one wall cavity sample, and remediation was estimated at about $9,500. Mold is a real health concern, especially when someone in the home is immunocompromised, as my wife is. Since this water leak happened, I have also been dealing with ongoing sinus issues. Starfix insurance has delayed the process. They have also taken the position that they are not responsible for the mold and suggested involving homeowners insurance, which is absurd given that the microbial inspection found mold consistent with recent water damage. In other words, the mold developed from the leak that occurred directly after Starfix's repair. That is not what anyone expects after hiring a company for a repair that led to this kind of damage. I would strongly recommend asking a lot of questions before hiring this company, because if something goes wrong, you may be left dealing with the consequences for a long time. read more

Mike was very helpful. He worked on our ice maker and it's working. During the repair process Mike somehow had water all over the Kitchen floor in front of the fridge and inside on the shelf. While he had booties on to protect our floors, he left water on the floor and shelf never cleaning a thing. I ended up mopping the floor and cleaning the fridge after Mike left. My recommendation, leave the appliance...and the floor in the condition you find it. Using the roll of paper towels on the countertop would have resulted in a five star review. read more
