Ken (company owner) answered our call the first time we called, gave us a very reasonable quote for labor, came by our house to measure the garage door the next day and had the door installed the day after he measured! He even picked up the door from Menards and took away our old door for no additional cost. His attention to detail was very impressive and he went to great lengths to explain the nuances of the door, opener, sensors, springs, etc. He seemed to genuinely care about our costumer satisfaction and not just getting the job done. Ken's grandson accompanied him on the job. Not really relevant, but it struck me as cool. I highly recommend going to Menards to get your door and have KB install. We got quotes from Lowes, Home Depot, and two local companies and this was BY FAR the cheapest route. Plus, Menards have the doors in stock which is a rarity right now.

Two people came out to install the opener and after looking at my garage door for less than 2 minutes said that it couldn't be installed and I needed to buy a side mounted opener because it would be a lot easier. He told me once I had that opener to call the office not Lowe's and they would come back out. The side-mounted opener was almost three times the cost of the one I purchased and luckily for me I have enough knowledge of this trade to know he wasn't correct. So I called Lowe's to send another company out who was able to install the opener in about an hour with no issue. After digging in with Lowe's a bit, I learned that contractors receive some of their pay even if a job cannot be completed so these individuals simply did not want to complete a task that was more difficult than average. My guess is they simply went to lunch instead. I would not use this company to even screw in a lightbulb, they clearly can't be trusted and only have their best interest at hand.

They failed to complete the job, leaving parts of our home exposed to the weather for two full months. We hired Clarkston Roofing to re-roof our home and install aluminum siding on 10 windows. The salesperson recommended adding five roof vents ("roof cans"), which we agreed to. When the crew completed the roofing, I noticed they hadn't installed the extra vents. Only after I pointed it out did they correct the oversight. That alone raised red flags about their attention to detail. The real trouble started with the aluminum window siding. When I showed Tony how poorly it was done, he admitted it wasn't up to his standard and promised to "get his best siding guy on it." That was on May 12th. It's now July 12th--two months later--and no one has returned to complete the work. Meanwhile, our windows remain exposed. I had to repeatedly call Tony week after week, only to hear excuses like, "He's on a big job, he'll be there next week." Every promise turned out to be empty. The lack of follow-through and professionalism has been appalling. I paid in full the roofing portion, in cash, trusting that they would honor the agreement and deliver the rest of the work on our signed purchase order agreement.
