I recently hired Ron for a total remodel on a 3-level condo and could not be happier with the work he and his team did.

We hired this team for a major structural renovation--adding a loft in our high-ceiling living…read moreroom, building a wet bar underneath it, and replacing our kitchen's back door and window with a beautiful bifold door. (Note: The furniture bar cabinets and library were added later on and were not part of this contractor's project). From start to finish, the entire team was extremely professional, dedicated, and highly skilled. On the very first day we met, Nir helped design a 3D view of the project that perfectly captured exactly what we had envisioned. Throughout the build, we had a weekly walkthrough with Nir to check if we had any questions or concerns, which kept communication incredibly clear. Elba was also an excellent project coordinator who was always available to answer our questions and keep everything on track daily. The construction crew themselves were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable; they followed our approved plans meticulously and were happy to accommodate extra requests along the way. You can truly gauge the quality of their work by the fact that every single city inspector visit passed on the first try--nothing ever had to be rescheduled or redone because everything was built perfectly to plan. Additionally, all of the finishes--from the drywalling to the trim work and paint--were done with high-quality materials and top-tier craftsmanship. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend them!

Garnet: This is the second renovation I have done with…read morePreferred Builders and I am so very happy! I was first referred to Preferred Builders by my tax preparer, Happily, my first repair/remodel turned out wonderfully so I immediately started a remodel on my own home. Scope of work: remove all the carpeting in the house and install laminate plank flooring in those areas. The travertine flooring in the entry, kitchen and hallway had large craters which collected dirt and water residue after washing. I had the floor steamed, the craters filled and the whole floor resealed. I had a gasline installed in the kitchen and a new gas oven installed. I also had a complete bathroom remodel which included removing a huge jacuzzi tub and installing an elegant and safe walk in shower. For the bathroom Nir listened to my concerns and needs and then gave me two 3-D renderings of my options. Elba was fabulous and fast with permits, a purchase list and provided weekly job schedules and updates. I have now completed this remodel and I can't be happier. My Preferred Builders team was pure gold! I highly recommend Nir, Elba and Orel, the Foreman. Orel was caring and his experience was invaluable, Roman, (drywall, moldings, paint, flooring) Carlo (beautiful tile work) and Abnir were all professional, caring and kind. My remodel was reasonable and fast. I definitely recommend Preferred and I already have.

Summary = DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! We worked with Alon during the pandemic on a home remodel…read moreof our kitchen, 2 baths, plumbing and electrical improvements, and paint. Alon was friendly and nice and the work was eventually completed after a roller coaster of a process that took 6 months. I had been sitting on this review after living with the remodel for over a year. I finally decided to post this review due to some recent upsetting discoveries. I hire a general contractor to manage coordination with sub contractors and to check on their quality. There were issues with both management and quality! Minor consolidation was that they at least finished. On the management side, they subcontracted the structural work, plumbing, and electrical. Something happened with the plumbing/structural contractor part way through and was replaced and we were warned not to engage with them if they come to me for payment (strange). Then they fired a sub contractor to the electrical sub contractor (who damaged a lot of the new electrical wires). They had a payment dispute with the electrical subcontractor, who later tried to put a lein on my home. To their credit, they did take care of it. Quality and attention to detail was not great. After dry wall and paint, I found lots of little divots in the wall because of poor patch work. Paint kept on peeling off the repainted doors and required several repairs. After several rounds of getting them to come back to fix things, we got gave up. A part was not installed correctly on our new pocket doors; instead of taking off the trim and installing things correctly, they installed an ugly fix on top of the trim. I was looking around the attic recently and was shocked to find hidden issues. Many of the electric wires that they fixed with twisted wires and electrical tape not enclosed in boxes. Some electrical boxes were not attached. Some nuturals were twisted together without a wire nut and it got loose at some point causing open nuturals and broken outlets. None of my my bathroom vents were connected even though I explicitly asked before it they can double check. The vent duct work was laying next to the fan. One of the fan duct flaps still had the factory stickers to remind the installer to remove before installing the duct! I will not trust them ever again.

Pride Construction and Remodeling has enabled my wife and I to have the most beautiful remodel that…read morewe could have ever imagined. We remodeled two bathrooms, three bedrooms, and a stairway. Alon helped us with all the decision making including choice of flooring, cabinets, wall tiles, and perhaps most importantly colors. Alon became a valuable consultant and a person we could really upon to be at our home on a regular basis and when we needed him. All of the people who worked on our project were professional, courteous, and dedicated to making our dreams come true. For example the remodel of our stairway was in the hands of a true artist who would not end his days at our home until every detail was completed to both his and our satisfactions. With out any hesitation I highly recommend Alon and Pride Construction and Remodeling. We are already planning our next project!

I have to highly praise Tom who has been our initial contact with the company. We never felt he was…read moretrying to push us, or glossing over some rather thorny issues that cropped up with the project we wanted to build. He generously spent two visits trying to help us solve them and honestly educate us through his own experiences as a contractor, dealing with city inspectors, and the extra financial challenges older properties potentially face built before current codes. He certainly made us want to work with MY Home Builders as a trustworthy company if we can pull this project together because he specifically addressed the myriad of details. We so appreciated this rather than rushing partway into the project and then either be told "oops here's an expensive problem" we didn't discuss (we've had that happen on three projects with other companies that went outrageously over budget), or get shut down by an inspector after we've paid for a very expensive building permit and ripped into the building. Thank you, Tom!

That alone is huge since it's an industry that has a reputation of adding 50% to the time commitment but not with this group. Our contractor, Liron was incredibly helpful. He replied to questions quickly, gave realistic expectations and gave great feedback. Our first week he set up a group access on the notes app. As I found different interests in lighting, tile, flooring, etc. I'd add links to the notes. He'd make important observations and suggestions helping me before I made purchase commitments. This saved so much time and allowed for quick communication. Was a brilliant idea. Liron also works closely with Maya, a truly incredible Forperson. She really, really knows her stuff. No nonsense, get it done. It's very difficult to remodel your home but I had a team of experts to help.

The pavers and driveway are honestly stunning - our neighbors have given us so many compliments already! The team was easy to work with, showed up when they said they would, and explained the process clearly along the way. Communicating over Whatsapp with them was great. We went back and forth proposing solutions to the drainage issues and where to put the stairs - they really listened to all our ideas and improved them. Their proposed amazing drainage solutions are effective and work great. The quality of their work and planning was top tier. They were respectful of our property and left the place clean when the job was done. It's not easy to find contractors you trust, but these guys absolutely delivered. We're extremely happy with the results and would recommend them without hesitation.

I set up an appointment with somebody who answered the phone to make an appointment and get a quote…read moreabout getting an ADU built behind my home. Later, "Jacob" called me back later and expressed condescending concern that I had ONLY a $150K budget. I told him that's where the budget starts, not ends and asked him what the true cost was. He responded back that it's between $300 and $450 a square foot. So I told him, "Okay, if my calculations are correct, if I go with $350 a square foot so I'm not at the rock bottom, and I multiply that by 600 sq ft for a small ADU, that is roughly $210K for a price starting point with your company?" "Well no it's not exactly... "Then what did I miss?" "Well there's all sorts of other things blah blah blah..." Overall the tone was condescending and he made it clear that I didn't know what I was talking about, when in fact I have 15 years experience as a home designer that designs and budgets facelifts on houses that are about to go up for sale. I have dealt with contractors for many, many years. Eventually I got fed up with his tone and told him to cancel the appointment. As my grandma always said, you'll catch more flies with honey than hot sauce!
