We hired Molyneaux to install manufactured hardwood on our first and second floor. They were…read moresupposed to have it installed while we were on our honeymoon. Instead, they barely finished our second floor and had none of our first floor done when we returned. On top of that, it took them an additional three days to finish the job. The final job included uneven floors, floors that creaked, and floors that were not evenly distributed. They clearly were in a hurry, with quality being a minor concern. They offered us $500 credit for a future job but their pricing for said future job was so outrageous it seemed a joke. Instead we went another direction. We used Empire for our addition 6 months later, and the quality difference is noticeable. The Empire floors are solid, even, and stable. The Molyneaux floors are uneven, inconsistently placed, and lacking quality for the price charged. Overall very disappointing.

I cannot recommend Roycroft Contracting LLC due to breach of contract, severe project delays, and…read moreunprofessional conduct regarding a deck and roof installation contracted in August 2025. The project, quoted as a 7-10 day job, began late and stretched to 45 days. This was due to the contractor's consistent failure to appear for work and a complete lack of proactive communication. We were forced to constantly contact them for status updates. On November 17, our township issued a "Stop Work" order because Roycroft failed to secure the necessary building permit, a clear breach of our contract. They initially blamed a subcontractor and delayed the project for another nine days until a permit was approved. The subsequently revised contract completion date of December 3 was also missed. Following this, the deck failed its inspection on December 9 due to faulty workmanship. Roycroft missed the scheduled repair date and then unprofessionally demanded final payment before the work had passed a re-inspection. After the deck finally passed inspection on December 15, Roycroft again demanded immediate payment and instructed me to retrieve the final permit paperwork myself. They have abandoned the permitting portion for the roof and we are now stuck working with their subcontractor to finish the job. We have been left with an incomplete project and a property littered with construction debris. Roycroft's conduct was unprofessional, their communication was unacceptable, and their disregard for the contract was blatant. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company to anyone looking to deal with professionalism, timeliness or respect. The craftmanship was good, after meeting code; the overall experience was less than satisfactory.

My neighbor had told me about Roycroft Contracting, LLC, and I also saw this company listed on Trex's website as one of their TrexPRO Gold builders. I had difficulty with obtaining estimates from many companies, but I was able to easily communicate with Emily and Jason Roycroft from Roycroft Contracting, LLC through their Facebook page and Messenger. Emily responded to my text messages usually within mere minutes, and she stopped by my house within a couple of days to give an estimate. For weeks, I was exploring options such as adding a gate, sunroof, and ADA handrail as well as transforming the current two-level deck into only one level. Emily contacted her Trex representative, answered all of my questions, and updated my estimate. In October 2021, Emily wrote an updated estimate and contract. The payment terms were a $500 deposit, half down 3 weeks prior to the job starting, and the other half at the completion of the job. I did have to catch a typo of 12'x28' dimensions rather than the correct 14'x24'. We planned to build the new deck in early March 2022. In January 2022, I realized that my township had no plot plan on file for my property, so I planned to hire a survey company to do a land survey. Emily contacted my township, and she confirmed that I needed a land survey. Emily understood that I needed a little more time to get a land survey done, so she flexibly pushed back the start date for the construction of my new deck by a couple of weeks. In mid-March 2022, Roycroft Contracting, LLC began the demolition of my old deck. Then they dug new holes in the ground for my new deck posts. The weather was very cold and rainy and caused the muddy holes to partially collapse. The inspector approved the holes on his second visit. When the workers were digging the new holes in the ground, they accidentally hit one of the grounding rods for my new electrical panel. (We had not known exactly where the grounding rods were located.) They told me that they inserted a new grounding rod into the ground. (Weeks later, my electrician looked at the grounding rods, and he said that the code requires using two 8-10 foot grounding rods that are 6 feet apart. My electrician tidied up the grounding rods and wire a little bit.) The entire process from demolition to building of the new deck took roughly one week. To this review, I attached a couple of photos to show the work in progress, so you can see the framing, boards, and railing over time. When the building of the new deck was completed, the township inspector returned to inspect the deck. He noticed that one post for the stairs shook. I think that the post is actually two pieces that might not have been joined together tightly. The inspector questioned the workmanship for the post, but he said that he did not expect the post to be a huge problem. Everything else looked great, and the inspector approved the inspection. Overall, the new Trex deck looks very nice. One of my backyard neighbors commented to me, "It's a really nice job...That new deck looks really really awesome. You'll be grilling out on that new beautiful deck in no time flat. Wow! What a nice job...The finished deck looks spectacular!" Indeed! :)

We had gotten a quote on carpet and LVP from Molynaeux first and had gotten the second quote from Romanos a few days later. Same carpet as what we selected at Molynaeux and a better quality flooring than Molynaeux in a color that we loved. The owner came out all the way from Plum/Penn Hills area to Wexford to measure everything and had given us a few sample options based on what we had told the receptionist we were looking for. He didn't pressure us into going with one brand over another. He brought the same carpet option we wanted from the other place and a couple others that were going to be durable for a baby and dog living in the home. We looked at the samples while he walked around and took measurements. He had sketched a rough floor plan with dimensions of each room where as Molynaeux just used their phone to measure and enter dimensions. We had selected a nicer option or the LVP flooring than what we picked at the other place and we were told that it was actually a little nicer than some of the other options because it was thicker. He assured us with our size dining room that going with something a little nicer wasn't going to add more than a hundred or two onto our total bill. When we received our quote, they were about 1.5k less than Molynaeux. We weren't nickel and dimed for removal or padding that we were at the other place. We pulled the trigger and got scheduled out to do the carpet. Two of their workers came by at 5-6am on the start day and had almost all the original carpet pulled up and the new padding out down. I think they were down in less than a day and a half. For two older gentleman, they were quick and they were clean and professional. Better than the staff that we would have had at our home had we went with Molynaeux. I already plan to use these guys again when we decide to replace the tile in our kitchen and bathrooms with the same LVP we got in our dining room. I couldn't recommend a better company and I'm glad we went with a small owned business over a large chain with terribly unprofessional customer service.
