Having moved into a house in Sun City Palm Desert in late September, we realized that the very bare back patio needed some serious attention. We met Hector in October and really liked his approach to drawing up a new look for our garden. All we had were several of the usual boxwoods, caesalpinia, and a lime tree. The new image had to be colorful so we approved the 5 yellow trumpet flower bushes because we love the hummingbirds and pollinators so much. Two additional spots would be occupied by two very generous ocotillos, always a favorite. We needed front and back faucets to be upgraded and a regular maintenance team as the spring season requires. We made a date for work to start in early December due to all of our personal commitments. The initial crew worked to rearrange the rocks in the patio area and set up the plantings. They are hard-working and knowledgeable and we appreciated the changes they made. Scheduling is easy with Hector because he responds to messages quickly and he is flexible and understands the importance of the client's needs. This past week the team arrived to prep the ground in the semi-circle of turf and to rearrange the rocks and clean up. We watched them work so hard from early morning to dusk and the results are pretty wonderful!! Motivated by drought water penalties in 2022 and continued water tier escalation, the HOA started to research options to find alternatives for a drought tolerant perimeter. After failed contacts with 7 other landscapers and nurseries, DD Landscaping was highly recommended by a Landscape Designer. David Diaz and his crew were exceptional. The CAD drawing had to accommodate different traffic patterns, lack of curbs, sun & shade issues, and 49 palms and fruit trees. David Diaz the owner was onsite every day which makes a huge difference for quality control. He is customer focused and very easy to communicate with, and very responsive. They worked 6 days a week for 3.5 weeks, refitting all the value work which is a huge job in an older 1964 HOA, added all new drip lines for every plant, carefully repositioning mature agaves and Mediterranean palms as required, and designing turf around a complimentary 3/4" gravel, planting 8 different varieties of new drought tolerant plants. The artificial turf installation is exceptional, they put 3" of base below the turf and 2" of gravel which provides an elegant look. CVWD came out to inspect for the turf rebate and was hugely complimentary stating it was one of the best, most beautiful, professional jobs they have seen. We are thrilled with the exceptional job DD Landscaping did for us and know the beautiful landscape will last us for many years to come. I would highly recommend them.
