Emmanuel and his team did an outstanding job with our front and back yards. It was a pleasure to walk the property with him and hear him recommend several plants that would thrive in their particular locations. I did have a couple of plants I really liked, and he would explain how they wouldn't do well but gave suggestions of similar-looking plants that would. He know his plants! After nailing down everything we were going to do and scheduling the work, it was a well-oiled machine with his team taking care of layer after layer of everything needed. His team's discipline and organization was incredible. He was on top of it all, and even when I didn't specify exactly what I wanted, he put his design hat on and made decisions that made things look beautiful. He communicated with me when necessary and was very easy to work with. Our front yard was full of random plants and very tired DG, and he got rid of the weeds and excess gunk, reworked the irrigation and lighting and made it STUNNING, complete with a dry creek bed running from the house out to the street. The back yard was mostly rock, with ficus that had been planted around the fence. We wanted a cleaner look, so we specified simple agaves as well as some lovely grasses in the back. When we discovered we didn't have the room needed for the grasses, we came up with a solution of putting them in decorative pots. And his team automatically put a drainage system in each pot so that the plant could be seen nicely but also receive proper drainage. He also fixed a couple of irrigation issues lickety-split. You specify what you want, and he executes with an absolute professional flare. We got it all, from gopher wire and weed barrier, to beautiful rocks of different types, and a nice variety of plants, all of which are still flourishing a month later. He was not cheap, but he is a professional and commanded a reasonable price with payment options. What I did NOT want was someone who did a halfway job for cheap. And with the bids I got, at least one company was 50% higher. I consider his work a very fair price, especially with the excellent work they put in. I was new to the area and didn't know anyone to provide me with personal recommendations, so I did what I've done before, go to Yelp! I reviewed contractors for a few days on line and after reading all the reviews of 4 companies I selected, I contacted them for bids. I specifically told each company my wants, needs and BUDGET! Budget was most important! It's ironic how some contractors ignore that word when giving you their bid. El's bid came in the middle of the bids I got. What impressed me was the responsiveness I got from the first phone call I made scheduling our initial appointment, during the bid/negotiating process, awaiting approval process, scheduling the job and during the job itself! El's worked with me in the bid/overall plan to where I was satisfied and when we scheduled the job, he showed up as promised. Did you read that! He showed up as scheduled! His crew was great! They were respectful of my property, cleaned the job site at the end of each day and were pleasant throughout the 5 day job! In the end, I got what I imagined and more! Excellent work, fair prices, easy process, guaranteed as promised.......I couldn't be happier! I'm a very prudent consumer and I trust my instincts and listen to them from the get go. His crew was on my property every day and did a great job. I replaced some "grass" (which was mostly weeds and dirt) with artificial turf as well as a patio area and walkways with pavers. His crew also removed about 145 square feet of rock, removed excess dirt to level, laid landscape fabric and reinstalled the rock around the turf.
