Best beef sticks in Wisconsin. Always stop in on our way through and it never disappoints!

We bought an expensive piece of brown sugar smoked salmon at Superior Meats in Superior, Wisconsin , and when we got it home we saw that it was two days past the use by date on the package. When we opened the package, the fish was dried out to such an extent that it was almost impossible to debone it. It tasted old with no hint of sweetness we'd expect with a brown sugar cure. We live a long way away, so we aren't returning it, nor will we ever frequent the store again if we're in the area. To say the least, we were disappointed! read more

My husband introduced me to Superior Meats, and we basically make it a point to stop by any time we are in the general vicinity of Superior. They have a giant selection of meats, as the name would suggest, but their many many types of brats and their many many types of jerky are really the standouts. Load up on both. The brats freeze well, too, as long as you wrap them well, so don't be afraid to stock up! The store itself has a modest selection of basics and a good sampling of beer to go with your brats, of course. If you are ever there on a day when they have the grill out front and are cooking brats and dogs, buy one. Whatever you had planned for lunch, just scrap those plans and get a brat. Staff is friendly and always willing to answer questions. It's so nice to be able to talk to the people who actually make the products! Recommend. read more

This is the only store I buy bratwursts now. Their brats come out juicy and flavorsul and they have a wide selection of fun flavors to choose from. Our favorites include the Jalepeno and Wild Rice & Cranberry. You can call ahead and see if they have your favorite flavor and if they don't, you can request it. Their steaks are cut thick and generous. I buy the ribeye or filet mignon. I haven't tried their other meats yet, but wouldn't hesitate. Great service and friendly staff. read more

Called last week to order 2 rings of potato sausage and 3 lbs of lutefisk for our Christmas dinner. Said we would pick up Wednesday morning (today 12/23/20). Get there this morning and they only have 1 ring of potato sausage and no lutefisk. They won't be making any more potato sausage today. Also wanted to get the 10 lb hamburger tube that is the Wednesday special according to their website. Oh they aren't doing that today. Thanks Superior Meats, you are quite the disappointment. Hopefully Super One can save our Christmas dinner. read more

In the last month I have placed 2 orders for bundles. The first order they shorted me one steak. The second was today, I placed the order yesterday. When I went to pick up my 2 bundles I was shorted one bundle. I paid for 2 bundles and only received one bundle in 2 boxes. The second bundle wasn't even done and didn't know I had 2 bundles. And receipt stated I had ordered 2 bundles. The employees are incompetent. read more

Really delicious double smoked bacon. They also have some terrific brats. Some of my favorites include the bacon cheddar, the Yellowjacket and the regular brat. They also will have a grill outside Saturday's in the summer and you can pick up a brat or hot dog for the road. read more

I was in such smoked sausage and brats heaven that I forgot to take a picture. From the outside thought it was a grocery store, but when you walk in, oh, my, meat market/ little grocery store. Huge meat market, has large assortment of dried sticks, jerkey, brats, weiners, and sausages, dozens of flavors. Then you go to next counter and all the fresh assortment, along with steaks and all the rest of the meats. Dozens of flavors and they are very happy for you to taste what they have. Very friendly helpful staff. We will be going there a again. read more

Called about buying 20lbs of pork shoulder a few days before a party. I was advised to call the morning that I needed it to have it set aside for me. I called back the morning before the party to be informed that they only had one call for a large order and that it wasn't mine. They told me that they could have more the next afternoon, the day of the party. The cook time is 8 hours, so that wasn't an option. I spent the rest of the morning scrambling to find the product elsewhere. read more

We stopped at Superior Meats because we have heard about this place and wanted to buy a bundle but they said they needed 24 hr notice. I live 2.5 hrs away and was not aware of this policy. I did not feel like making that drive again any time soon to pick up an order. I did not see any reason they could not have made this for us as there were at least 6 people behind the counter (with 3 of them standing around) and maybe 2 customers in the store at the time. We felt that this was very rude so we left and found another meat market in Duluth. I have no intentions of returning to Superior Meats again. The rudeness of the employees, or maybe it's more laziness, is enough reason for me not to return. Plus the meat I found in Duluth was beyond wonderful. read more
