The only thing that has been done by customer service is a $75 credit while I've been paying more monthly for months to store rat shit all over my belongings in two separate units.

I knew this was the right place to house our belongings when I asked the manager during the tour if they had issues with pests or theft, and he was mortified and responded "what kind of storage unit would we be if we had pests and theft happening?!" (A response I had not gotten from a different storage unit I toured before finding R and 21st storage). He then went on to share with me all the security and pest prevention measures they take. Booking the unit was easy, the price was reasonable, and it's very clean and professionally run. They have ample available carts and do a great job with security. They also have ample parking. Also because there's only one entrance and limited hours, we felt especially confident in our items staying secure and in quality condition. Cons - the hours are somewhat limited (particularly on weekends when they close at 4) and because it's a fortress vs. drive-up it does take a bit more effort (and time if using movers) to get stuff into the single freight elevator, down the hall, into the unit etc. All that to be said, it was the "cons" which gave us a much better sense of confidence, security, and anxiety reduction leaving our belongings here. You will absolutely get an arm workout from the lifting the elevator rolling door up and down though! We can't say enough positive things about the experience and it's great that it's located right in the heart of midtown!

It's not their responsibility to protect my belongings. It's mine. One of only two places I've rented from in 25 years that insists in this manner. If they want to protect their facility from renters then that should be baked into the rental fee, not forced as an add on through questionable business practices and privacy and PCI violations.

I have rented with two other storage facilities before and at those other facilities I experienced rodent damage and droppings on my belongings, flooding and water damage, reported theft on the property, insect damage and spiderwebs on everything, excessive dust, the list goes on. I almost thought that was part of for the course with storage... so much so that I put all my furniture on palletts in case of flooding and covered everything in my unit with a tarp. Both these measures proved unnecessary because the husband and wife who own this facility keep it IMMACULATELY CLEAN. Prior to selecting this storage facility I wrote down a lengthy list of requirements in a facility to store my items in, as I was storing many vintage and sentimental items. It was highly important to me that rodent and insect damage would be unlikely, that my items would be damaged by flooding or leaky roofs, or that my items wouldn't be stolen (seems like bare minimum but you'd be surprised! ) I just vacated my unit today after five years and I found no water damage, no rodent or insect damage, and the only spiderwebs on my furniture were the ones I moved my furniture in with (proven by the ancient dog fur caught in the webs). Communication with this facility has also been excellent. Any rate changes to my monthly bill I always recieved both email and postal mail notices. Office hours are broad which means if I have any changes to my account, they're open when it's convenient for me to stop by. The couple who owns the facility live on site and the property has massive security... I never had to fear theft or damage. Staff have been friendly, expedient, and helpful 100% of the time that I've had to interact with them. I would strongly recommend this business if you need storage and the security and preserving the cleanliness of your items are your priority. There are cheaper options available in town if you're willing to go with companies whose storage facilities are notorious for pest/water damage.

During this time Executive Mini Storage was purchased by Safe-Hold. They had send many messages but I must of missed the one where our code was changed. Fast forward to this past Sunday... I scheduled a time for our family to come and look through everything and take their items. Once we got there I couldn't remember by code (there used to be a formula on the keypad, the unit number and then the last 4 digits of your drivers license and * and # somewhere in the mix) The formula sign was missing, yikes!! We saw a car exiting and went in and wasn't sure how we were going to get our family in or even how we were going to get out. (Keep in mind it's Sunday and the office is closed) I walked over to the office to see if the formula was on the inside of the gate or check the saw a sign with an phone app. Once at the office area there was a very nice gentleman outside doing some lawn maintenance and I asked him if he could possibly help us, and when he said yes! He was one of the managers and would help us on his day off... that was AMAZING! Whew!!! I was able to get my updated code (which was nothing like the previous one) and let our family members in to go through stuff and the best part of all we could all get out, lol. I didn't get his name or have forgotten it... but I am truly grateful for your help. We have been trying to plan this day for years and it all worked out because of you! Thank you!!!!

At least one has been dismantled in the front as well as the walk in side gate is wide open with some random lockbox open. Basically anyone can get in there now and riffraff around again. My moms unit has been broken into and item stolen, I've called customer service and they have no idea how to get somebody out here to help. I cannot access my unit. Fyi..Don't have anything in your unit over $5000 value because apparently the insurance policy only covers 5000. My bad I should've had my mom get renters insurance. My mom is never been laid on Payment. As I've been in and out a lot getting stuff again to vacate our unit completely I ran into several people who said they're also out of there due to the same reasons that my mom is moving out. What I am criticizing is the complete lack of compassion and professionalism I experienced dealing with this facility & staff. When I arrived, I was informed by scott(a staff member) that my unit had been sold. The contents of that unit included years of personal belongings, books, awards, clothing, camera equipment, and irreplaceable personal items. Instead of being told privately or with any degree of sensitivity, this information was delivered in front of other people in the lobby. This experience was humiliating. What I did not expect was the absence of basic human decency. There is a way to communicate devastating news to a customer without making them feel exposed and degraded in a public setting. There is a moral difference between an abandoned storage unit and a storage unit belonging to someone who is actively trying to save their belongings. I was not someone who disappeared, walked away, or abandoned my property. I called the week of the auction asking for help, asking for options, asking if there was anything that could be done. I was trying to save my belongings and was met with what felt like indifference and callousness. The loss of my belongings was painful enough. The manner in which the information was delivered made an already heartbreaking situation significantly worse. People going through storage auctions are often experiencing financial hardship, family crises, illness, job loss, or other major life difficulties. They deserve professionalism, dignity, and privacy. That was not my experience. This facility does not employ good people. They only want to humiliate you. What I will remember most is not that my unit was sold. I will remember how little compassion was shown to someone who was desperately trying to prevent it from happening. If you rent here, understand that when you fall on hard times, you may be treated as an account balance rather than a human being. I now associate this facility & the people they employed with one of the worst moments of my life. I will never recover from this. I am devastated.
