We discovered the leak had been cause by an improper solar installation, which made the entire process that much more stressful, especially after mold was found during their tear-down. The team at JBS was amazing through the entire process. Their installers assisted us by taking photos throughout the entire process (before photos included here), their job supervisors and installers kept us informed of progress and issues the entire time, and the office staff was extremely supporting and helpful, answering our questions and providing necessary documentation to aid our interactions with the insurance company. The team was always punctual, professional and friendly. They cleaned up so well that our yard looked better when they left than it did when they arrived. To top it off, the cost of our roof repair, even with the extra material needed, was 30% LOWER than our neighbor, who has the exact same floor plan. I highly recommend JBS Roofing. If you prefer to be more than just a contract number, definitely use them for your roof.

JBS Roofing was not the cheapest of the 10, but they took the time to explain things in every detail. We were told that this would take 4-5 days to complete. It did not. More like 15 days before all of our issues were somewhat straightened out. As it turns out selecting JBS Roofing was the worst decision we ever made, I guess we fell for the sales pitch. Everything seemed to be going fine on day one, and day two as they removed the old roof. On day three no one even showed up, because apparently the equipment to load the new tiles onto the roof was unavailable. We were not informed of this until the following day. No phone call, no text. On the 4th day, on the back side of the roof where it meets the patio, they decided that they would stop one row short with the tile of the roof meeting the patio. What employee thought "hey that looks OK"??? (see pictures) After speaking with the supervisor, they added another row of tile so that it met with where it joined the patio. Also on the fourth day the heavy equipment that they used to load the tiles on the roof put a crack in our driveway. We spoke to the supervisor, and he agreed to get that fixed. The cement company (Blue Steel Builders) came out, and replaced the entire slab of the driveway. We have a texture pattern on our driveway which they tried to match, and the color is so far off, it's unbelievable. Literally like night and day (see pics)... again what employee thought "hey that looks good)??? It's not even a close match. They used chocolate brown when our driveway is sand colored. The cement company has come out several times to try to make it match to no avail, and eventually ghosted us by not returning my phone calls. In hindsight , I would rather have the cracked driveway then this comedic joke of what they call a fix. We should have never asked for the repair On the fifth day , while we were expecting them to finish, they ran out of tile, and the garage, and front patio were not complete. What roofing company that has been in business for over thirty years runs out of tile ??? Rookie mistake. We were told they would be back to finish on Tuesday because Monday was Memorial Day. Come Tuesday no one shows up, instead they show up on Wednesday to finish the job. We also have a small section of roofing, maybe two tiles deep over our pop out kitchen window. They worked on this section of the roof and it looked like a small child did the job. (see photos) Unfortunately I didn't see it because they had left without saying they were finished. You would think a roofing company would at least ring your doorbell, and let you know that they are finished, and let you look around to see how it looks.... not JBS they hop in their trucks, and haul out of town. Another call to the supervisor to have them come out and fix this mess over our kitchen window. He sent someone else from his crew that did a much better job, but the flashing where it met the tile was still separated. So I had to call the supervisor again, and he eventually came out and fixed it himself. So in closing, our roof is finished after much poking, prodding, and frustration. Our driveway is ruined, and like I said , I wish we could go back to just having a cracked driveway. We in no way shape, or form could ever recommend this company to anyone. It's literally amateur hour at JBS. The person who actually recommended this company to me will no longer do so.... I urge you all to stay as far away from this company as you can, unless you like to have $20,000 extracted from your pocket for amateur workmanship. Wish there was a Zero star for this review.

This is the firth time I've used them in probably 20 years. Prior to this house we've used them a…read morecouple times for flat roofs over the patio and inspections and repairs pre sale. They have always been fair with their prices and prompt with their service. This time we were working with a 30 year old roof. Over the 13 years we've owned the home we've had a few repairs and patches. This time Oliver said he could repair the one section that was leaking and reattach the tiles that had fallen of the peaks for $1500 or replace the whole roof for $12000. 6 years ago I had a quote from another contractor for $16000. I wanted the complete roof because we are going to put solar on the roof and the last thing you need is incremental repairs where they need to remove and replace panels. The issue with Porter is they are busy. Very busy. So we had to wait 3 months for them to get to our roof. The winter rains delayed the date an extra month but once they got us on the schedule they showed up every day for 3 days solid and did an excellent job. How do I know. Because I watched them work for several hours over the three days. They replaced wood where it needed it and did an excellent job replacing all the flashing. They cleaned up every day and when they left on day three, other than seeing the new flashing and straight edges on the tiles you'd never know they were here. When I told Oliver we were putting up solar panels he said after they were up to let him know and he would inspect the roof for cracked tiles and the places where they secure the racks to make sure his roof would last. He would also come out once a year and make sure there were no problems or fix them before they became a problem. I strongly recommend using Porter Roofing even after you read the one star reviews.

Porter roofing owner Dennis Porter came out and inspected roof and told us it was an easy fix replacing 7 tiles with new underlayment for about $1000. We hired them again once we sold our house in Gilbert 2017 and they addresses minor issues that were mentioned during home inspection purchased by the buyers of our home. Moving forward we just sold our Mesa home and the prospective buyers were concerned about possible roof problems and were concerned by suggestions in the home inspection report. Oliver Porter came out and inspected our roof, tiles, underlayment and our attic. Told us our roof was in good shape and that we only needed 2 tiles and concrete end caps repaired. Total $350 repair. They operate their business with integrity and we will only use Porter Roofing for future roof concerns. Thanks Porter Roofing! They also carry an A+ BBB rating.

The real roof is what lies beneath the tile. He showed us how the felt paper underneath is what really protects the home. Our underlayment was dry-rotted, cracked and there were piles of mud all over it. I had no idea how such a beautiful tile roof was in such bad condition. When we started talking price, he explained that the other bids were lower because the other companies were selling a contractor grade "underlayment" he said his price will be more but the difference is night and day!. his system sold me on the spot. I'd rather pay more but get a substantially better roof system. It included something he called "Elevated Batons" these are the sticks that the tile sits on. they allow air to pass below the roof tile so the heat can escape thus keeping our attic cooler in the summer. The underlayment was a peel and stick material which doesn't get nailed down thus eliminating all the penetrations which over time could leak. The guys showed up on the established start date and completed as scheduled. The team worked very hard. They found the sources of the leaks, replaced the decking added new roof vents, replaced the skylight flashings as they are called. The guys kept the property clean during the process and informed me whenever there was a issue I needed to know about. They were always professional and courteous. It's been 6 months and many rains with ZERO leaks and many recommendations to friends. Outstanding job to Weston, Vidal and team!

In which case there was also bad communication from the sale person to the scheduler, to the Forman, to the labor personal. They removed vents that they say weren't in use , and I said the were but to leave and I would redo them myself. Found that they use silicone instead of replacing wood. So in closing I now have to replace my laundry room ceiling, the vent pipe to my hot water heater, new vent for my stove hood, vent for the bathroom fart fan, and paint the bare fascia boards. One thing to add, the metal may not leak and I stress "may not", but the under layment does not! Keep out the heat! So now I have to add gable fans!
