1 Star Terrible…read moreexperience. I will not be returning. I brought my Omega Seamaster in for a helium escape valve/crown repair or replacement. Shlomo, the owner, told me the watch would be ready within one week. Two weeks later, Beth called and told me they had ordered the wrong part and would need another week. Then, oddly enough, she called me the very next day and said the watch was ready. When I went to pick it up, I was immediately pressured to pay before I was even given a chance to properly inspect the watch. I asked them to slow down because I wanted to make sure I was paying for the repair we had actually agreed upon. When I inspected the watch, the helium crown came right back off. What I found particularly frustrating was that, instead of acknowledging that the repair needed to be addressed, they challenged me as the owner of the watch and told me that I was unscrewing the crown too much. I know how I had been handling my own watch, so I found it very disappointing to have the problem attributed to me rather than simply addressing the fact that the crown had come off. I made it very clear that I wasn't trying to give anyone a hard time. I simply wanted to make sure I was paying for what we had agreed to, and I told them that I wanted to do good business and resolve the situation fairly. Rather than escalating the matter, I asked them to fix the watch and told them I was willing to give them additional time to do the repair properly. They apologized, and I left. Another two weeks passed before I was finally told the watch was ready again. I returned the following day, but Shlomo wasn't even there. Once again, before I could finish inspecting the watch, Beth was already pressuring me to make the payment. At this point, I just wanted my watch back so I could take it to an actual Omega dealership and have it properly inspected. I paid the amount we had agreed upon and left. As of writing this review, I honestly don't even know whether the watch has actually been repaired properly. Beth told me that it should be and that Shlomo had tested it to make sure everything was correct, but after my previous experience with the repair, I don't feel comfortable taking that at face value. I plan to have the watch inspected by an Omega dealership to determine whether the repair was actually completed correctly. My issue was never about refusing to pay or trying to give anyone a hard time. I was patient, reasonable, and gave them multiple opportunities to make things right. I simply wanted the agreed-upon repair completed properly and the opportunity to inspect the watch before paying. If you're trusting a business with an expensive watch, you expect professional workmanship, clear communication, and to be treated with respect when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I will not be returning.

When I picked it up, he told me (patronizingly again) that he'd spent far more time working on it than he'd expected, and what a favor he was doing for me by not charging more than the original estimate. A couple of weeks ago, same watch started running fast, but after my initial experience at Phillipe Medwar, I was not going back to him for repair. I took it to another certified watchmaker who told me my watch had been oiled with some cheap gunk used by jewelers when they don't want to take it apart to give it real service. He said this gunk was the butt of jokes among watch repairers. He cleaned it (for real this time) for *$150*. Interestingly, the second watchmaker had been offered a job by one of the Medawars after he graduated from his program and he decided not to take it based on his interaction with them. He went on to own two jewelry stores of his own in central Michigan. So he seems pretty legit. I concur with other reviewers who mentioned Mr. Medawar's ego. That and the way he spoke to me as if I was an idiot had already convinced me I would never go back. My now perfectly working watch with the $150 cleaning confirms it.

I'm getting endless compliments and I find myself meditating regularly because I'm so entranced when the sun or any light hits it. The ring feels so ME! Prices here are not cheap and you cannot just walk in and shop. You must set up an appointment first. This is because they only sell a certain caliber of diamond and the settings are engineered and created in house. They only have a small handful of settings that are prong. All of Phillippe's bezeled and tension settings are a work of ART. People must understand how this is different from the average jewelers everyone recognizes the name of. His work is meant to be cherished and family heirlooms. His business is clean and his staff is courteous. 10000/10!

The clock was working when Jerry took the mechanism for repair, but it had timing issues that needed to be corrected. When Jerry took the clock parts to his shop, he seemed genuinely enthusiastic about getting it working properly and told me to feel free to check in periodically. After approximately three months, I stopped by the shop to see how things were progressing. At that time, he told me he was still monitoring the clock because he wanted to make sure it would run consistently for about two weeks before returning it. More months passed without any communication or update. At approximately nine months, I finally called and left a message explaining that I was becoming concerned because so much time had passed. I said that if he was finding that the clock could not be repaired, perhaps at some point we simply needed to call it and have the parts returned. I was completely unprepared for what happened the next morning. Jerry called me twice within a few minutes. When I answered the second call, he began yelling at me and told me that when I was "in a better mood" I could call him back. Approximately 15 minutes later, he arrived at my home without prior arrangement, left the clock parts outside my front door, and videotaped himself while doing so. During this interaction, he told me, "Don't you dare follow after me," and accused me of treating him "like a 5-year-old child." He also made a point of saying that I "hadn't even paid" him anything. To be clear, Jerry had never asked me for payment during the months he had the clock. I had not refused to pay him or disputed a bill; there simply had never been a request for payment. Later that day, I went to his shop because I was still hoping the situation could be resolved reasonably. I was prepared to compensate him for the work he had done, even though he had never asked me for payment. My hope was that we could calm things down and either have him finish the repair or, at the very least, put the clock back together as it had been when I entrusted it to him. Instead, he told me that I had caused him a great deal of stress and that he was simply not going to do this. I left shocked by the entire experience. What is especially upsetting is that I started with an heirloom clock that was working, although not keeping time properly. After approximately nine months, I received the parts back without the repair being completed, and they were not even reinstalled in the clock. I understand that an antique clock can be difficult to repair and that sometimes a repair simply may not be successful. Had Jerry told me that he was unable to get the clock to run consistently, I would have understood. What I cannot understand or accept is being yelled at and treated this way simply because I asked for an update after months without communication. This was a treasured family heirloom, and I am now left needing to find someone else not only to address the original timing problem but also to put the clock back together. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business. Regardless of whether a repair can ultimately be completed, customers should be able to expect reasonable communication and professional treatment.
