I have had a Superior Water's Kinetico system at my house with a well for over 15 years and couldn't do without it! In fact i just had Bill and his team do a service call for me for a yearly routine check and they are top notch! They not only came out when they promised but the technician explained everything to me step by step. When we first moved to this home the water was pure rust the toilets and sinks where disgusting and being my wife is a blonde i knew that this was not going to work if i wanted to stay living there. But between Superior Water's Kinetico system and there top notch service my water never skips a beat and is crystal clear. I would recommend everyone to Superior Water..... I do not recommend this company. The "trip valve" will be installed without telling you first regardless of custom made cabinets or if a rubber mat is already in place. They will not do any work and you will still be charged, work done or not. They also do not back up their work on the trip valve or any leaks in their installed plumbing line. They will tell you to higher a plumber. Also note, they chart your conversation but only chart what is beneficial on their end. Not what really took place. Lastly, I was hung up on in our conversation by Ken. Customer since 2005, great product really bad "Family owned" service, including disorganized front office and often out of supplies. read more

We've had superior water softening system in our home for the past 20 years and recently noticed that the water was not quite as soft and conditioned as it should be. We called the company scheduled an appointment and John the technician showed up and installed a brand new water softening unit for us. He was extremely helpful in suggesting that we use salt crystals going forward instead of the pellets that we used. The system is quite wonderful because there is no timer on it as it constantly softens the water. Quality product for a very reasonable price. read more

SERIOUSLY LACKING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE STANDARDS Sadly, I can only marginally recommend this company. Two years ago I got a water system from them. The sales person was fantastic as was the installation. No issues and I am very happy with the system. I've been contemplating upgrading the system to add the pharmaceutical filter but after this recent experience know I won't go through this company for it for sure. I wish I had read the reviews here before deciding to go with them because I would not have selected Superior Water Conditioning if I had read all these negative reviews before purchasing. And they are mostly related to bad customer service post purchase. I recently ran into a situation where I had a water leak in my home and I had to reach out to them to check the system to make sure it wasn't what was leaking. I was stunned that there was a service charge from them - $119 just for checking. For a $4k system, I found that really surprising! In today's world where customer service is king I do not see this as good customer service. I was also advised that they couldn't tell me if that $119 charge would be applied to the repair if it was the system. Fortunately, it wasn't their system. Unfortunately, they absolutely did charge me the $119. I am seriously wanting to upgrade my system but will be reaching out to another company from another county for this. I can't in good conscious give this company any more of my money. read more

Unfortunately for a Kinetico water system, you are tied to this local service company. If the service is good, you'll be happy with your water system. And the service is only as good as the company's techs. We've had many services, some good and some were a waste of money ($150-200/service). It's like rolling the dice whether the service is effective, and we would not continue using them except they are the only ones servicing Kinetico in our area. read more

Kinetico is a solid water conditioning system and there are many reasons it should be the water filtration system to go with. But unfortunately it comes down to the supplier in your area. Although Superior Water Conditioning is not a franchise of Kinetico, they still control all of Tampa Bay area. Other Kinetico suppliers are not permitted to step on each other's territory. Therefore, they can conduct their business how they please and charge whatever they want to charge. And Superior Water Conditioning knows you don't have the option to shop around. So don't be surprised when you find their service repair fees to be substantially high. My first call with this office started off poorly when their rep asked me to give them step by step directions to my house from their office. I asked her, "don't your techs use GPS on their phone?" She said yes but she still needs to write down directions. I then asked her, "don't you have access to internet to print out the step by step directions from Google Maps or MapQuest?" She said that she did not have access to a computer or printer. So I had to spend the next 10 minutes giving her step by step directions to my house. The last time I had to do this was in the 1990s. Then she said I would need to pay them $150 to come out to my new home just to give me a quote to install a 2 year old Kinetico system I brought with me from my previous home. Then if I accepted their quote they would schedule another appointment for the install. I explained to her the plumbing lines are already there at my new home and had been hooked up to an old filtration system, now removed. So it should be pretty simple to install. She said she would still need to send someone out. I ask her if she can schedule the install and quote together and she said no because she is not going to send a whole crew out to quote an install. A whole crew! We are talking water softeners here! You don't need a "crew" to hook up a water softener to 2 pvc pipes already sticking out the ground ready to be connected! She also was unable to tell me what in addition to the $150 visit for the quote I was going to have to pay for them to come back out and actually install it. So they could essentially take my $150 and then quote me another absurd amount leaving me debating whether I should let the $150 go and deal with it myself or continue letting them rob me of more money. I decided not to schedule anything with them and hung up. I then called back to ask to talk to a manager thinking maybe I was just dealing with a poor quality rep. The manager ended up being just as unfriendly and stuck to their ridiculously policy of requiring me to pay $150 for them come out just to quote for the install. I told her I was going to pass this experience on to her corporate office, but she didn't seam to care. That's when I learned from corporate that they don't regulate these offices that are licensed to sell their product, they are not franchises, yet they only allow 1 company to sell their product in each area. read more

I paid $98 for Bill to come out and give me an estimate to reinstall my unit after a kitchen remodel. After he left I looked down at my paperwork and there were no numbers or any of the things we discussed in writing. THE 98 DOLLARS IS FOR NOTHING. They come to your house to tell you how much it will cost to reinstall your unit. My unit will cost $450. All my basic plumbing is there. I bought this system 10 years ago. I have called and let them know I want an email for a written quote. Maybe they will give it to me but maybe not. I am not sure why I would pay $98 for a piece of yellow paper that vaguely says change unit. I want to know the cost and the details of everything and in writing. I am seriously considering getting another brand name water filter. I was considering the water softener and updating my RO water filter. I called to request the written quote and Bill said he would email it to me. Fair enough he may or may not. But who wants to chase around an estimate that you thought you paid $98 for. I expect an estimate in writing that includes numbers. After reading all the reviews on this page I am extremely wary of buying the 1300 unit with the trade in on my old unit. A huge part of me wants to do this BUT... I do not trust the company anymore. Furthermore, I spoke to Ken a few months ago about upgrading the unit and he was extremely rude to me on the phone. I am a previous customer that spent nearly $1400 on my last unit and I am treated like trash. Why do they charge $98 to tell you the cost to install a unit. They say you get $70 back when you install but I think this is a scam. I really like kinetico but this is the only place to get your unit serviced. It is very sad to treat people this way. I am very disappointed. Update: Aoril 20th. I got an email quote today for the system and a call from corporate and Bill. I was too busy to take the call. I have sent additional email to find out the rules of what voids the 10year warranty and how much the filters cost. I am waiting for a response. I want everything in writing. I was shocked at what there service call was that outrages for a service call $139 last year it was $98. I wanted service done on our system and wanted to check the system while they were here. They said that they could not work on system without another charge of a $139. This is what the problem is in this world (greed). Horrible service. Had them install a Kinetico system 5 years ago. Good system but pricey. However Superior is anything but that as far as service. We have called them out several times and they are always 4-5 days before they can make the service call. Last week our Chlorine pump ceased working so our water smelled horrible and we felt not safe to drink. We called them hoping for emergency call out and still they said they wouldn't be able to come out for a week+. After I told them this was unacceptable, they gave us a time of 5 days. If you want any service done by the expect a long wait because I am not the only one with this complaint. I found a much better family owned business (FWT) who came out the day I called and replaced the pump the next day. They are now my water treatment people. read more

This company has the worst customer service! The service manager is rude and unapologetic. They were supposed to deliver and fill my kinetico system with salt every so often, I just realized that they hadn't come since September of last year. This is just one of the many failed customer service experiences I had with them. They are super nice when they want you to get their products but after you buy they treat you horribly. Just got off the phone with Ken, a supervisor, who doesn't understand the customer perspective. I scheduled an appointment with Joanne, who has abysmal customer service skills, to schedule an appointment this past Tuesday. I received a call that morning that the appointment had to be rescheduled, after I took the day off from work. I rescheduled for today, where I received the very best service technician. After the work was completed, I was looking for a compromise with the business as I not only had to reschedule, I lost a day's wages. I was willing to pay for labor and parts if they would reimburse me the service fee of $70. Ken said, and I quote, "We don't have a 'I don't pay you' process." So instead of finding compromise, he instructed the technician to undo all the work he did. Nice. I share my experience because no one should be treated so poorly. To think I was loyal to this company for over 13 years! No one in this office ever said they were sorry or even the words, "I understand why you would feel this way." Instead, I was treated rudely and without cause. I would never recommend Superior Water to anyone, especially if you expect quality, customer-focused service from the main office. To think that Ken would instruct one of his employees to undo work performed because he was unwilling to compromise on a service fee is not a business model that puts the customer first. I guess it's okay for this business to inconvenience the customer but if the tables were turned, I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate to expect something from me if I cancelled the appointment! All I can say is that if I ever treated one of my customers the way I was treated today, I would be unemployed! So now I will need to find another company that will stand by their customer and re-repair my unit. read more

This seems to always happen too, they come over, "fix" what needs to be fixed, but end up always coming a second or third time. Sad excuse for a company. I had my system re-bedded on July 15th. Ed was friendly, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. I told him that I was having a little calcium build up and tested the water to confirm that and when was done he tested the water again to make sure it was back where it should be. It's been almost two weeks and I can tell the difference. I could not be happier with the job he did. Ed is a real asset to your company. We had a very bad problem with our well water smelling. We called Superior Water as they are the only company who can get parts to service the Kinetico brand. In a year and a half Superior came out nine times for the same problem. It was what they call a duck bill. A little valve that retails for $5.99. They replaced the duck bill each time and a tube twice. The unfortunate part was the $98.00 service charge each and every time they came out. After numerous complaints to management and even the owner, an employee named Brian happened to answer the phone one day and went above and beyond to help me out. Brian asked me if by chance a certain tube was touching the bottom of the clorinator tank. Low and behold it was the tube they replaced twice and that's what was clogging the duck bill each and every time. Nine times four different technicians came to my home and either told me my system was old or they just didn't know what was wrong. It took a very nice man from behind a counter to diagnose my problem over the phone. Every person I dealt with but Brian were very rude and acted like they are doing me a favor by working on my system. As I mentioned, Superior Water is the only company that will work on the Kinetico brand. Now don't get me wrong, Kinetico is a fine system. It's Superior Water that either doesn't know what they are doing or knew what they were doing by leaving the tube in the bottom of the tank for it to clog on purpose. I feel that it was the latter. Looking back, it would have been in my best interest for me to have contacted the BBB. It's time for my annual service and all I can do is hope that I have an honest tech coming to my home this time. read more

Buyer Beware!!!! Absolutely horrendous company to deal with. We had them install a new water softener system a year ago and it has been one headache after another. Monthly service technicians show up at odd intervals, add chemicals & salt randomly resulting in salty water. Have had to go out and buy bottled water on multiple occasions because of what they added to the system (and they would not come back out to correct the issue until the next day). Management is argumentative, rude, condescending, and refuses to be accountable. It is my hope that others read this review and save themselves some grief by not doing business with this shady company! read more

Great water conditioner and reverse osmosis drinking water.

We have had there Kinetico system probably about 15-20yrs. we live about 1 mile from this place. Customer service SUCKS. Delivery is never on time and sometimes they delivered to the wrong place. when you call them for service they charge you a arm and a leg for service. always rescheduling your appointment for service. You don't even get an apology for their faults. they only fix just enough so it will work for them at the moment. WE'VE HAD IT WITH THIS PLACE. We have spent close to $1000 last year to fix our system and it still isn't right. WE ARE DONE. PLEASE PEOPLE THINK TWICE BEFORE CALLING THIS PLACE. Someone in a truck with a big sign in the back of it said SUPERIOR WATER SUCKS well believe it. I honestly don't know how they stayed in business this long. read more

Let's start out with I have been a customer of Superior Water Conditioning of Lutz since May 19th 2005. Paying over $3000 back then for highly rated system. But it's not the system you should be concerned about, it's the customer service or lack there of....We have used them a few times and each time just to get them to come out it's been a service fee and $80 an hour after that. When our system stop working, we called for a technician to come out. Turned out that we picked up some debris from our well and it held the valve open causing the system to not function properly. The technician supposedly cleaned the valve and put it back together. He promised soft water within 24 to 48 hrs. That never happened! After a couple of days ( over the weekend ) they were called back out just to find more trash in the valve. Maybe the the control head should have been flushed. To my surprise they charged me another $40 for a job that was never completed. After speaking to Ken , he tried to justify the additional charge do to us not accepting his outrageous recommendation for a inline filter over $200. Something I did for $30. He refused to remove the charge!!! I told him that I would never use his money hungry company again. He was quick to point out that he was the only company. In the area that services Kinetico and can obtain parts. So If you want to purchase a system from a co. that has a monopoly on the product and has poor customer service, good luck! read more

Customer service is HORRIBLE. I would give it zero stars if I could. I purchased the system 10 years ago for 6,000. thinking I was purchasing the best system out there. I have now spend 4,800 in repair bills just paying for parts that break. Every 4 to 6 months the chlorination will stop working or the water unit will stop working and you have to pay 200-500 to have them come out and fix it. The service techs are smug and very condescending. The sales people are great and if they had the same attitude in service I would have zero problems. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. read more

These people are just plain downright RUDE!! Someone was suppose to call me between 8:30 - 9:00 am just to set up an appointment for the day and no one called me as of 9:45 am. I called over there and talked to a lady named Cindy who was RUDE. She wouldn't tell me what time my appointment was going to be and she told me that I would have to wait for their call. After seeing all the complaints on here, I'm surprised that this company doesn't care enough to change their attitude or the way they run their business. This company is very rare. They still believe in and provide old-fashioned customer service! They have been very diligent about ensuring my satisfaction on all matters regarding bringing up the quality of the well water for our home - NOT an easy task to accomplish! Just had this company come out and install my new water system I purchased from them. Got a great house with horrible smelling water but someone recommended superior to me so I called them and was given a very informative education on what I needed. Today it was done! HORRIBLE!I do not know where the positive reviews are coming from unless they are manufacturing them. I have been with them for 10 years because I have a proprietary system and no one else can sell me parts or service. I feel like a hostage in an abusive relationship and cannot wait until it's time to replace my system. DO NOT buy a system from them unless you want to be in the same boat. The sales manager and owner are both arrogant and could care less about the customer because they know you don't have a choice. I suspect the good reviews on here they have made up themselves because I have NEVER gotten good customer service except from the clerical people that work for them. They charge you to diagnose each problem and if they are wrong about their diagnosis they will charge you again and don't care if you have orange water for months and months. Jerry R. seems to have had the same experience and I have had the same horrible treatment by them for years. Once you buy your system you are stuck so please research this company. You will find other reviews from real customers that will share their nightmare. The ones composed with 5 stars are suspect to me. They are either brand new customers who just purchased the system or seriously the owner and his sales guy posing as customers. NO WAY are they real consumers. read more
