I was amazed with the accommodations in the main lobby bathroom, the opportunity to let one rip was amazing. My only disadvantage of this hotel was one plied toilet paper. The facilities are amazing and I would definitely recommend any people that need to take a spot to drop. read more

Many places at the shore seem 'tired' this late in the season but the port o call was clean and service was on point and friendly. Convenient to a beautiful beach and the boardwalk. The pool was a blessing when rough waves make wading the best option in the ocean. Accessible for my elderly disabled husband who loved the beachfront view. It was the most awkward breakfast experience of our life...the manager "k?" walked past our table as we overheard him say "i need my coffee I haven't had my morning sh*t yet" then proceeded to walk by with his coffee. I'm not kidding.During the hour he briskly ran himself out 3 large bowls of food to the lobby area while taking bites as hes walking? unsure where he would be eating this don't want to know. My daughter was so embarrassed she started crying and said "mommy why is that man talking about poop I'm not hungry" we have not witnessed anything like this at any restaurant. check the cameras and find someone professional to manage your dining room. Stayed for 3 nights. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. Rooms have a mini fridge, and a Keurig coffee machine. No microwave and TV was not a smart TV for Netflix, etc. They charge an extra $15 a night for a resort fee, on top of the room price, wasn't sure what that is for. Wasn't able to use the cafe there because they had a convention going on so it was closed to the public and only one elevator was working. I've always wanted to stay here. It is a great location towards the end of the board walk, an steps away from the beach, and a private parking lot. For the price, don't think I'll be back. But was happy to finally stay here after all those years of walking past an wondering. read more

Went with 6 ladies for the weekend & reserved 2 rooms. Parking 5 stars: has their own lot which is a good size, 1 parking spot per room. Those who could not get a spot in the lot, found parking on the street & had to walk a few minutes back to hotel. Location 5 stars: the boardwalk is the only thing that stands between the hotel & beach. It's only a couple blocks away from where the action of the boardwalk starts. Rooms 4 stars: Clean & spacious. Plenty of storage. Shower & toilet were in a separate room, which was cramped & could use updating. Loved having a balcony. Restaurant 4 stars: open for breakfast & lunch. Service & food were good. A little pricey for what you get. Pool 4 stars: clean, towels available, plenty of loungers & a few tables with chairs. Wish the area was a little bigger & some of the loungers could use a good cleaning. Staff 5 stars: 98% of the staff were pleasant, 2% were ok just not as pleasant. Front desk staff were accommodating for any request we had, one woman in particular was fabulous! Will definitely stay here again & recommend. read more

The staff graciously implemented COVID-19 protocols that made us feel secure. We witnessed regular, consistent, and thorough cleaning and disinfecting of public surfaces. As a consequence our stay for a week was pleasant and without the normal anxiety of moving around other public places. Such amenities as free beach chairs and umbrellas at Bert's, and Ocean City Beach Passes, were included in the room fee making our beach time frictionless. Perfect location which can't be beat. Beautiful hotel. Most of the time the front desk employees were excellent, friendly, and would go the extra mile for you. Nice pool, but NOT heated, despite what they tell you. Towels provided. But there are issues which wear on you after a day or two. The floors and walls must be cardboard-thin. Everytime somebody closes their room door or the sliding door to their deck, it RATTLES and shakes your room, and it's LOUD. You can hear people talking and their TVs all around you. No fan or vent in the bathroom. (!!!!!) No air in hallways or elevators. They were HOT!. The restaurant is SEVERELY under-staffed and suffers from this. read more

A personal and family favorite. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and conveniently located to the beach. A few things that I really appreciate are the outside showers to rinse off sand, the common showers in the lower level (very well hidden) when the shower in the room is being occupied , the hotel restaurant, the grill by the pool deck, etc. The hotel is on the far end of the boardwalk which may bother some people but not me. My family and I definitely had a 5-star experience at Port-O-Call Hotel. Don't let the unassuming and somewhat dated looking exterior of this place fool you. The inside of this hotel is 100% remodeled and is absolutely beautiful. The lobby and common areas have a sleek modern yet beachy look and feel. The rooms have very beachy décor, teals, blues,whites and greys. Everything is very new and VERY clean. House keeping did an amazing job every day during our stay and even leave chocolates in your room at night. Everyone we dealt with from front desk workers, housekeeping to people working out at the pool were very friendly and accommodating. There is a nice decent sized pool which overlooks the boardwalk and the beach as well as a little snack bar outside on the upper pool deck that sells hotdogs and other snacks. This Hotel is located on the boardwalk on south end of the boardwalk right were it narrows, it is a perfect location, less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the part of the boardwalk where all the shops and restaurants begin. Less than a 2 minute walk from the hotel to having your feet in the ocean and less than a 60 second walk from the hotel to having your toes in the sand on the beach. There is also a small little shop that sells the essentials, sunscreen, snacks, ice cream bars and beach and pool toys right inside the lobby of the hotel. There is also a restaurant on property called Adelene, I will leave a separate review for that. read more

Best feature in the room was a mini kurik coffee maker which equals 4-5 stars for me. Beds were comfortable with nice linen. Front desk reception was not super friendly upon arrival and had a slight attitude but nothing terrible and nothing that would not make me stay here. I've eaten there several times and only one meal was memorable- they make an outrageously good roasted chicken. The also make tasty breakfasts and do the buffet thing on the weekend. First I have to say I was not able to stay at the Port O Call Hotel but I do want to review the customer service received from them. We had 2 rooms for 4 nights for my 100 year old mother. I ended up having to change to 2 nights and then cancel due to my mother's health. The whole reservations staff were so easy to deal with in the endless number of calls I made to the hotel. We will return (it is the only place our family stays when in the area) sooner rather than later to have a relaxing few days stay. Employees make the hotel and these employees are great! I can't say enough amazing things about my 3 night stay! As a newly single mom, I was very nervous about handling my very first trip alone with my kids but wanted to make it a special summer for them so I booked. I'm so glad I did! From my arrival I was immediately greeted by Brandon, a helpful young man who wanted to bring everything up straight from my car. It was like this moment was the precursor to everything amazing that would just keep coming. The standard bay view rooms are least expensive and that was perfect for me. I was in room 609 and was able to sit outside each morning and night for much needed "mom time" and look at the bay in the distance and the lights of OCNJ. The private balcony was perfect for relaxing. The room was beautiful and so clean. The cleaning service did a fabulous job. Every night they left me a bag of snacks and juice for my children. This was such a warm touch that really left an impression! The pool is super clean and beautiful. I was steps to the beach and on the boardwalk. Whenever a child had to go potty on the beach we could leave everything and walk to the lobby bathroom quickly - this was such a win for a mom with little kids. Nothing could have been any better or easier during my stay. The bathrooms are absolutely beautiful. The mini fridge is actually really large and fit a gallon of milk and everything else I needed. My kids loved the koi fish out front. Everyone who works here was so friendly that I felt like I was in Disney world. Just the greatest experience, and made memories my girls and I will never forget. This is one of these things where you truly get what you pay for. I'm so glad I stayed here! read more

My husband and I stayed at Port-O-Call the 3rd week in May. I'm happy to report that Port-O-Call is a clean, beautiful, well-run hotel. From the moment we arrived we received excellent customer service from every single employee. Whenever we saw an employee in the hallway, they always made eye contact and said "hello." Their wonderful attitude and pleasant demeanor was evident in all aspects of our stay. Our room was immaculately clean and beautiful, and had a lovely balcony and a great view. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotlessly clean. Our room had a small kitchen area with a sink and coffee pot, the sink was so clean I could see my reflection! I just cannot say enough good things about this hotel. There was one stand out employee that I want to mention. Rene is a young man that we encountered quite a few times during our stay. When we checked in, Rene was there to offer to carry our bags, he was pleasant and friendly, but then we started seeing Rene everywhere at Port-O-Call, and he was always busy doing something helpful for someone. Whether he was carrying bags or sweeping up in the restaurant area, he was smiley and pleasant. Whenever we encountered him in the elevator, he inquired if we were enjoying our stay. My husband and I started noticing him and commenting to each other, "there goes that hardworking guy again." He is a wonderful asset to the hotel, and I hope the management recognizes his professionalism and excellent service to their customers. read more

We stay here every year in the spring. Once again, the most beautiful hotel in Ocean City does not disappoint. Also, the cleanest hotel in Ocean City. We stayed on the top floor in the Penthouse Suite. Excellent accommodations and a friendly staff. The restaurant also has excellent cuisine. I highly recommend this place. We have been staying here for years. Even when I was a kid we stayed here. Not many choices for hotels right on the boardwalk but this a place that is at least consistent and well maintained. Pool is great and the pool deck is large enough to have your own space to spread out. The room we had seemed to have had some remodeling however it was a little sloppy but oh well. Restaurant convenient on the first floor of the hotel however the food is ok. We ate primarily for breakfast for the convenience. Would definitely stay here again. read more

We stayed for two nights. The staff was very accommodating. We arrived prior to 3:00 check in and went to the beach. The front desk texted us at 2 that our room was ready, which was nice. The rooms have Keurig coffeemakers, which I do not like (k cups are terrible for the environment. To add insult to injury, when I went to check on my coffee, it exploded, spewing piping hot coffee grounds all over my body. I told the front desk and they were very sorry and concerned. They even offered me a doctor. I was fine; just a few small burn spots. I left a note on the machine to let housekeeping know that it had malfunctioned. When I got home I realized I had forgotten my pillow in the room. I called the desk and was connected to housekeeping. The housekeeping manager was off for the day but returned my call the next day. I asked about my pillow and told her about the coffeemaker explosion. She said she'd get back to me. The next day she called to tell me that they had found my pillow and they were shipping it free of charge because of the inconvenience from the coffeemaker. Excellent customer service. read more

My family and I had a wonderful experience at Port O Call this summer. We stayed from Mon-Thurs before the season really began (mid-June), so I don't know if that matters or not. The hotel was not too busy during this week, which was obviously fine with me :) From the moment we pulled up, the friendly bell boys welcomed us and offered to help with all of our stuff. We arrived at noon and our room was not ready yet, so we went straight to the beach and then the pool for a few hours after check in. Check in was smooth and friendly (they require 1 night paid in full during time of booking). You have to sign for the pool and beach passes at check in, and there is a charge if you lose them, so dont! You can tell right away that this is not your average beach place - it is modern, clean and well-lit. Friendly, knowledgeable staff at the front desk that have been working there for many summers. The lobby is small, but inviting - there is a full service restaurant, and small gift shop and sitting area with comfortable couches. The lobby also provided a nice place to escape the heat during the day! Pool was small but clean. Would recommend more umbrellas poolside as there were only 4 (in the corners) and with little kids, this is always a concern! Restaurant was clean, inviting and flexible with kids' meals. They even delivered lunch poolside for us... Only 3 blocks from the south side of the boardwalk and ground floor access, with elevator. Room was made up every day nicely and extra towels were left, upon request. Bed rails were installed quickly, per request. My 3 year old son keeps talking about our vaca here, so I know he liked it! Would stay again there next summer. read more

I went to the Port o Call hotel in Ocean City N.j labor day weekend. All I need to say is great staff and clean spacious rooms. The staff made every accommodation we requested. During this time of covid they made us feel like it wasn't even going on. They followed every covid rule but made you feel so comfortable. They helped us with recommending great places to eat and even some things to do. My family and I have been going to the Wildwood Crest area for 25 years. We couldn't get a room so we decided to try ocean city N.j. All I have to say is shame on me. What a great place , and great hotel and we will DEFINITELY be back to Port o Call. We stayed at the Port O Call with some friends this past weekend. We had four hotel rooms near each other and our group consisted of 8 adults and 9 children. The hotel staff went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable stay. They had cookies and juice boxes for the kids each day and were quick when called upon. I asked for my room service tray to be picked up and someone came within minutes and also called down because the safe wasn't working and someone came right away to fix it. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. The elevators are a bit small and the grill at the pool is a bit pricey (room service was cheaper) but the cleanliness of hotel and friendly staff more than made up for it. I've been coming to Ocean City forever. Owned a house there on the ocean. Stayed in the Sindia apts with my parents when I was little. Now I'm in NY, so when we go to Ocean City, it's always the Port O Call on the ocean. The rooms are beautifully decorated with all the amenities and the housekeeping staff is attentive. Every room has a view of something - the ocean, the town, the bay, the boardwalk. The high floors are the best, and of course oceanfront is wonderful. There is a good sized swimming pool, plenty of lounge chairs and towels. An attractive restaurant serves breakfast and lunch in the lobby. Ocean City is a dry town so you won't get a Bloody Mary with your breakfast. Every visit has been sensational and the staff bends over backwards to make it that way. read more

Nice hotel but will NEVER stay here again. My fiance and I were enjoying a quiet afternoon on our balcony after coming back from the beach when all of a sudden a worker peered over our balcony wall and said how they received a complaint about smoking. I said "ok? Well its not us. We don't smoke" then another worker peered over saying "we've gotten 3 complaints about marijuana smoke on this floor. Im not saying its you, we're going around to everyone." She then proceeds to continue on "if we get another complaint the police will be called and they can come in and search your room" We just got done telling you that it was not us, you said you weren't blaming us but if you get 1 more complaint our room is being searched?? It was a very windy day and the smell could be coming from literally anywhere on the beach or boardwalk. Then when we left for dinner we spotted 3 different balconies with people smoking on them. If it wasn't for their cancelation policy we would've checked out immediately after that threat. I don't appreciate being accused of something we didn't do and then threatened. I refuse to spend any more money at this place, we will make sure to dine off the hotel property and never give them another penny. read more

My first time ever to visit ocean city. In looking for beachfront hotels there is not a lot to choose from. This is an older hotel that has been recently renovated. We had an ocean front room with a great view. They have done a decent job in updating I thought it was a little over priced but from what I saw they really don't have any competition. The staff truly takes Pride in what they do and show it with each and everything they do for the guests at the hotel. The Supper Club at Adelene's was fantastic! The ambiance, food and service are as good if not better than most high-end restaurants located in center city Philadelphia! My compliments to the chef and the staff on a fantastic meal! We come here every year and always enjoy it. The ocean front rooms are heavenly. The rooms are very clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff is always wonderful. I overheard others commenting that the front desk is not like a bunch of robots that you often experience in other hotels. In particular we loved Mathew. He is so helpful, kind, and accommodating. We really enjoyed him. We also always enjoy seeing the older gentleman who does all kinds of things at the hotel. I wish I remembered his name. We see him every time we come and he is always helpful no matter what you need. This time he took up our luggage for us at night. He should be commended. We will be back again this summer! read more
