It's reasonably priced and it's in a convenient spot (centre of Grafton Street). The only reason I'd take away a star is because it's so bright and cold. It's a little like an empty canteen. It could be nice because it's got a huge sky-light and it's airy, but there's just no atmosphere. Anyway, back to the food. They do a good brunch (€9 - competitive) and little taster plates too. And they do kids meals. I went there for dessert, I just adore M&S desserts, so it's fabulous when the serve you a piping hot melting middle chocolate pudding with vanilla ice-cream. Even better than making it at home. Another bonus, they also do afternoon tea - super!

The interior however is so strikingly white that you feel more like you're aboard the Star Trek voyager and not within an establishment looking to grab some lunch. This futuristic and clinical-looking interior unsurprisingly lacks in any authentic ambiance. The sun rarely shines in Dublin leaving the rooftop a wasted initiative before you get to even so much as step out there. I never even made it close, staying back to take my seat on what I can only explain as a bar stool that has been designed to suit the milieu of a flying saucer. Uncomfortable and with legs on it so skeletal you remain in a state of apprehension the whole time you are sitting on it that it may not even be able to maintain stability. During the lunchtime rush it is a case of sitting wherever's available and so I was forced to sit on this awkward, poor excuse for a chair. The menu comprised mostly of ready-meals. I eventually settled for Italian vine ripened tomato soup that was served tepid in a bowl that was scorching hot, which rang alarm bells that this was a microwave job. It seemed almost ironic that the cuisine dispensed within this 'alien craft' (if the interior is anything to go by) was akin to NASA style food - heated up through the most counterfeit means possible. If hunger does indeed wallop you in the face when you're shopping then it's hard to overlook this eatery, especially if you think the pleasant rooftop translates into anything viable, but it doesn't so I beg you to take your business to somewhere else, somewhere well thought-of.

Being busy is probably as well due to the fact that the BFEI / College is just accross the road and it's definitely ideal for students but the audience is a complete mix of ages. Having to go to the bar to order both drinks and food is fine with me and worth the money they safe on staff for that. Speaking of which - no complaints whatsoever about the staff.

I have been in Wetherspoons across the UK and this reminds me of one I visited in Windsor which was most certainly one of the nicer ones. The interior was almost identical to it. From the carpet to the toilet doors. It's pretty big and airy and the seats are comfy. The most horrific I have been in was one in Sheffield. It was beyond depressing, dirty and the food was disgusting. I do not think this place is as cheap as what it was a year ago. There's a hike in prices of some of the beers compared to the menu pics on Yelp taken a year ago. Tsingtao for example was €3 a year ago and is now €4. In saying that I was drinking a pint of Erdinger for €3.50. It was icy cold and to my amazement the best I have ever had outside of Germany. That was my biggest surprise here I must admit. I did have one of their craft beers in a can for €2.75 initially which was a 355ml can. It was pretty nice for a cheap craft lager. I did a taster of some of the other craft ales and beers on draft before deciding on a drink earlier and these particular beers and ales were in no way near any sort of acceptable temperature. The cheapest pint is €3 but be aware that the beer percentage is lower than the Irish average. 3.8% for the Fosters and 4.1% for the Carlsberg. The food is very average but I wasn't expecting anything else. In fact it was a lot nicer than I thought it was going to be. I was expecting the worse. It was like good canteen food. So that being said the food is not that cheap for what you get. I paid €11 for a hot dog and chips which included a beer but the beer choice is limited to the €2.75 cans €3 pints. So €8 for a hot dog and chips isn't exactly a bargain. Also I asked what was on the dog. The girl said it was plain. Just the bun. I asked if I could get onions and gherkins added and she said no problem but then charged me €1.75 without actually telling me it was extra. So it was €13 overall. My hotdog was grand but my boyfriends burger was not nice at all. I expected that and that is why I went with the dog. Cheap quality hotdogs are fine, cheap quality burgers not so much. The interior is quite nice actually, it really just reminds me of an All Bar One or a nice Wetherspoons in England. But soulless and lacking any atmosphere as others have pointed out. They did have a GAA match showing on flat screen TV's so this has obviously changed since they opened as people had complained there was no sports on TV. I dislike sport so this is more of an annoyance for me personally. The staff were very friendly and the clientele quite mixed. There was some questionable characters in the smoking area however. Wetherspoons is always going to attract questionable clientele even in somewhere like Blackrock but for the most part the crowd was fine. I would not be going out of my way to come here but if I was in the area again I would deffo pop in for a couple of pints. I would probably just eat something before I did!

There was a guy playing music and the place was pretty busy. The bartenders were as friendly as could be expected with the loud music, and the drink options were fun. I was able to try a couple of local beers. The real hit was the bangers and mash. I honestly just got it because it seemed like an appropriate dish to get, given where I was -- but it was SO good. I loved it. Was only in the city a short time, but this will be top of my list to return to when I'm able to come back.

My mate drinks here and he lives in Arklow! Miles away! The reason for its popularity? Well, do does exactly as a pub should do, serves decent pints, in a comfortable well laid out space, with a laid back vibe and huge outdoor, covered, heated smoking area, with its own bar. There is even a cool little snug here as well, which is great if you don't want to be seen with your date! otherwise you will be seen here because as I said everybody drinks here! This place goes off when there is a big sporting event on, especially any Irish or Dublin games of any sport and it is always jumping on the weekends. There is a great food menu too, reasonably priced and eating here is really popular at lunchtimes and on weekends with families. The spring rolls with chili sauce make a great alcohol soak-er upper when you have had one to many vodka sodas, not that that has ever happened to me! Oh and the coolest thing about this place is the fact that it is built on a medieval burial ground! They took the tombstones, but left the bodies!!!
