It's very cozy. The waitress we had was very nice and we never ran low on coffee which is of course very important. I had the big breakfast with three eggs, two pancakes, bacon, sausage, home fries, and toast. They have blueberry, cranberry, apple, or chocolate chip pancakes for 60 cents extra per pancake. I got the cranberry pancakes. Everything was delicious and I brought home most of my pancakes because I was stuffed! For those who love real maple syrup they have a whole bottle on every table, not just a little cup of it. You can also buy a bottle to take home. A screen over the pick-up counter shows which orders are waiting and which are complete so you can track when your order will be ready. We ordered two medium hot coffees and it did take quite a few minutes as the orders are filled in the order they are received. I immediately smell the coffee beans were brewed at too high a temperature and they have been scorched. This makes the coffee bitter as well as making it impossible to drink my coffee immediately. Which is what I need and why I am here. Even at 90° I want a hot coffee, so cold brew is not the solution. As a purveyor of coffee, with so many coffee companies to choose from these days brewing coffee at a slightly lower temperature seems like an easy fix and good business move imho. This location has a number of beverages on tap from tea and cold brew to hot coffee. They also have all the breakfast items. A real all-in-one stop.

I stopped by Village Art Café very recently and headed to the café counter (Village Pastries) in the back room which serves up coffee/espresso drinks, homemade baked goods, and crafted sandwiches. Since I already had coffee back at my vehicle, I needed some takeout sweet treats and I went with a Cinnamon Roll and Chocolate Chip Cookie. The homemade baked goods were really good. The cinnamon roll had brown sugar & cinnamon topped with a creamy icing & maple syrup. The homemade chocolate cookie was plastic wrap (homestead label) was soft and slightly crumbly, with plenty of chocolate chips, very sweet. If I have more time next time around, I will stop by again for a coffee drink with a sandwich and hang out.

So it couldn't be an ordinary grocery store cake. So I drove the hour and selected the chocolate cake with raspberry filling and Italian cream frosting. It sat on my counter for 2 days before the birthday. What a fantastic cake! It was so moist, not overly sweet or gritty. The raspberry was delightful. This will now be my go to for every cake need.
