We have been coming here more the past two years since they expanded to more food options. With hot dogs, lobster rolls and pulled pork also available they have become a last minute dinner idea for my daughter and I while my wife is work. Lobster rolls some how fit about a whole lobster of meat on a roll and are available with butter or mayo. One of my favorite ice cream options, with the many available is the vanilla frappe with a shot of maple syrup, a unique and delicious option for sure. Where once I would have traveled the extra 10 minutes to go to Kimballs, Charlie's exceeds their flavor options and selection ans you are best served by staying in town and going to Charlie's. read more

The service was great. The two women were nice. Unfortunately the flavor that I wanted wasn't available so I tried vanilla and chocolate twist, which was very good. Much better than most. The only thing I would advise them of is cleaning up the property. I know it's outdoors, but it could be very cute. If the grass were cut tables were cleaned and a little bit more aesthetically pleasing however, I will definitely be back for the ice cream hopefully the flavors that I wanted will be there and the staff was awesome. read more

Strictly only reviewing their Ribs. I know this is an Ice Cream place but he serves Ribs, and Pulled Pork, some dogs, sometimes lobster rolls, so hey had to give it a shot. First off he only serves the ribs as 3/4 racks for some reason. Came wrapped up in foil and lots of juices. Also with a good sized cup of BBQ sauce, kinda tasted like a sweet baby rays, maybe a sweeter type like their pineapple teriyaki or something. Cutting these ribs with a plastic knife wasn't as difficult as it usually is with some of the other bbq joints but damn they stayed hot for quite awhile. And I know that these ribs are nice because he takes them right out of an actual smoker. Pork taste and tenderness was pretty good. Seasoning was a bit typical still a good choice in spices. Wasn't like the full on super dusty coat of red spices and stuff. just a nice glazing over of sauce. I kinda had to use the sauce because of the heat but what was I to really expect from a tiny little ice cream hut. We were just cruising by down the highway at the speed of light and I don't even know how your tiny place caught our eye, but hot dang! It was a blessing that it did! Your scoops... baseball sized scoops it seemed because I was hypnotized by their generous size! (For what I pay for a tiny scoop in SF, I'd say I was loving your prices.) The Blackberry Chip and Carmel with Chocolate Covered Pretzels rocked my world.. The Mint Chip cone with choco jimmies on top wasn't too far behind in the taste-bud rocking department. Really it may have been love at first lick. My heart immediately fell in love when I saw a little mom and pop shop on the side of the road with a colorful sign that was welcoming me in. The vibe of the location is so quaint and cute. I think there's just something about the genuineness of small, independent businesses that operate with passion and hard work. You can clearly see it in the owner and staff member in their joy of service and how friendly and kind they are. We had a 7 person party, ordered all large hard ice cream in a cup. Serving size was extremely generous and so satisfying after a day of hiking. Love that the ice cream is homemade and locally sourced not to mention delicious! Stopped for lobster rolls on a Friday on one of my NH pilgrimages. Loved that when I went to the counter to order it, was asked if I wanted it made with butter or mayo. The roll was filled with fresh, briny, and meaty lobster. The only critique is that I prefer the rolls to be lightly toasted. The smoked pork smelled amazing, but the lobster roll was calling out a little too loudly. Save room for ice cream as well, it was well worth it. Charlie stopped by and checked in on us, as was talking about pulling the lobsters out of the traps. Something fun that you won't get at some chain place. The soft serve ice cream here is fantastic! We stopped by on a cold rainy day and there were a few cars there. When we walked up to the window Charlie asked us how we were doing. My wife is suspicious about all soft serve chocolate places and asked to taste it before ordering. Charlie said no problem and told us that his soft serve is the only 10% Milk fat soft serve around, and that all the other shops served 4-5%. He told us that would make his ice cream taste thicker and creamier. Well, he was right. My wife loved her chocolate and I was impressed with my vanilla. We're living near Harrisville for the summer, and we've been looking for a great soft serve ice cream place near us, and now we know we'll be coming back to Charlie's on a regular basis. ps: Charlie is very friendly. read more

A very cute old-fashioned country style ice cream shop. We stopped with our family to get the kids something sweet and this was a hit. They have a large variety of flavors to choose from. I actually tasted 'Caribbean Coconut' and it was yummy. We ended up with 'Cookies and Cream' and 'Strawberries and Cream'. I just have to say that this is by far the best 'Strawberries and Cream' ice cream I have ever had. The large fresh strawberries make it perfect.
