Over the weekend me and my fiancé went to pacific city for a getaway and on our way back from our hike my car died. my battery AND alternator were both shot and we were stranded on the side of the highway and everywhere around us was closed with no way to get my car home. My finance was able to find Sherwin and called him and he said he would be able to fix it THAT DAY! We got a tow truck to take us to his shop and he drove all the way to tillamook to pick up a battery and alternator for my car and once he got back he worked on it for a couple of hours and got everything back up and even noticed my oil was low and put more oil in my car. He was super sweet to us and even helped a handful of other people who had a flat tire while we were there. Not to mention it was Sunday morning when we had called him and he was in the middle of his breakfast and stopped to help us out along with other people who came across him. Imagine you could go to your uncle Jim's mechanical shop and he would work on things for you all day for $300. They're good old boy nice guys, and they wants to help you and do things right. We were on a road trip with my F-150 and a 27 ft travel trailer when my water pump blew. Let's just say we were stuck and no mechanic within 50 miles would see us or take us in. The True Value in Pacific City gave us Sherwin's name and contact. He not only took a look at my truck immediately he gave us a ride to our campground and drove the truck back to us 24 hours later totally fixed. The price was shockingly low and the quality was amazing. The review on this site about the cheap guy stuck in the sand not wanting to pay $60 to free his vehicle is laughable. Our small car got stuck in the sands on the way to park at Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City public parking. So did another car right ahead of us. He towed them out first. As I waited they told be it cost them $40, for the pull out of their SUV. When it was our turn, the tow man said ours is not as bad as theirs. So after it was done And we got ready to pay, he said $60, for us. Wtf??! Yes, know that he was so judging by appearances, as he throws a price out there. He did not know the last guy he towed and I had talked. I said, wait, "the last car you charged $40, and supposedly you said ours was easier?" "Well, okay $40, is fine", was his response. Be warned! Sickening that I was forced to give 1 star as this business deserves 0 stars. I'm not going to go into a bunch of detail for my review. Its as simple as this. My daughter went to apologize the the tow truck driver (OWNER) for his confusion about the address and he said "there's no address fuck." I will add that if you GPS or google our address it is spot on every time. But honestly who cares about any of the details. Who owns a business and speaks to women in this manner? Earlier today my fiance and I got stuck up in the woods in our truck. We called Sure Win at 11 am and got an ETA of two hours. 1 o'clock rolls around and no one shows up and I receive no phone calls. Gave him an extra hour for the benefit of the doubt and once two o'clock came I called and was told he hadn't even left yet and would be another hour. (Ended up being 3:30 when he finally showed up) it was freezing. We were stranded with absolutely NO one around and it was getting dark. Once he finally showed up, he had my fiancé hook everything up and practically do his entire job while I watched his pup. We asked to follow him down the mountain since we were unsure of which way to go, which he agreed to until he tried to charge $200+ after being 3 hours late and not doing his job so we told him we'd match the price another towing company gave us since they could've been up there in less time. He eventually gave us the price we wanted but as soon as we paid he sped off down the mountain and left us to figure it out on our own. Will NEVER be using this towing company again. Get your workers attitudes in check. both reviews you have on here are negative, take that into consideration. read more
