This morning when leaving the house, we tried to close our garage door and it would start to close but then went back up. The better half noticed the cables on both sides where dangling. First thing I did was jump on to YouTube as I'm YouTube certified in fixing many things. I watched a couple of videos and thought to myself, heck I can do this, or at least I thought I could put the cable back in place. I got one side but the other side was a little painful and I decided to call around. I called some big names but they couldn't come out today (Sunday), and I came upon this company with raving reviews and Yelp said they were open. I called but no answer, but shortly after I get a text message. After describing the problem, they said they are wrapping up an install and can come out and see the problem. After they arrived Zach noticed my spring snapped which was why the cables came off. I can only imagine if I got the other cable on, only to find out that the spring was broken. I would've been disturbed. So much for YouTube certification as it doesnt beat experience which is what Zach and Michelle have. He told me how much they were going to charge to fix it and that if I wanted, they have the parts and could do it. I said, shoots and after a little while, they fixed it and did a maintenance on the moving parts, replaced some broken parts and we called it a day. Zach is very honest and even says to call around first if I wanted to. Trust me, you dont have to as his pricing is on par and their service is unbeatable. If you need servicing, maintenance installation of your garage door, look no further, as ZS Overhead Doors is the specialists for you.

When the original door was removed, it was clear to see that the opening had been modified. The original door was not the correct size for the opening. We had already bought a door from the original door measurements. Knowing that we would not be able to do it ourselves, I contacted Kama'aina Handyman. They did an excellent job and built a new frame for the doorway. They also replaced some cinder blocks that had broken with wood framing to make sure the door was straight and plumb. Our previous door maintenance firm lost our business because of poor performance, grossly poor value, and the inappropriate use of highly corrosive chemicals such as standard WD-40 on our hardware. H&H fixed everything including an annoying "clank" each time the door opened (note: it was a broken hinge bolt that the former vendor claimed couldn't be fixed). Kept giving error codes that something was in the way--but the area was clear. would not close. so we pulled it manually and then nothing. No response at all. so we called another company to come and look. Herre's their take: 1. The springs used in the installation are the wrong size. Too small for the weight of the door so eventually the motor will burn out. That's $$$! 2. They never did the exterior keyed entry for me, though it was installed outside the door. I'm an Iraq vet w/TBI--short term memory SUCKS--and just totally overlooked that part as it had building stuff there. He said they should have got that wired up, programmed for me too. The proper sized springs are +-$500 to install. They refused to fix it properly, saying they' d charge me as time has passed. Yes, but it was not insta;;ed properly to BEGIN with. so? The customer service rep that answered the phone was a bit rude, and I tried to explain my problem, but she wasn't very understanding and impatient, and I felt humiliated. When I did call to cancel she sounded happy to, so my assumption is they don't care to service broken garage parts unless they can sell a door. 2) prices to replace the spring system were almost 2x the price of few other companies I called. 3) They could not schedule to fix my door until the next week, so I found another company that could replace my spring system that same week at almost half the price.
