I needed to find some carpet for my clients upstairs condo. I walked into the store on a Wednesday afternoon around 3 pm, Jasha helped me. I am a person who really appreciates great service. I let Jasha know what I needed and it needed to be within my budget. He helped me find some remnants for my client project. He took the time to explain the process and explained to me that he would need to find a carpet installer. I needed the carpet to be installed by Sunday, midweek the following week at the latest. Jasha worked on finding an installer, he scheduled him to do measurements on Thursday, check back with me on the installers quote, I OK'd. On Friday, the installer removed the old carpet and prepped. On Saturday morning, the installer came out to install the new carpet. I stopped in on Saturday and saw the completed project. My client and I are so happy with the quick and speedy project. I was FLOORed! Well, in this case, it was carpet that rocked my world. We were on the hunt for some area rugs. We initially visited a shop in town, but thought to contact BFSS for a "second opinion". Thankfully, I'm glad we did just that. PARKING: Small lot in the front of the store. We were assisted by flooring ambassador, Carrie Punzal. Working with Carrie was such an exceptional experience! She's very knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and clearly has much experience in the industry. The main purpose was to find or obtain area rugs for our living room and a hallway. She took us into the carpet remnants section of the store to find any carpet that matched the dimensions we had in mind. A remnant was found that met our needs in terms of color and measurements. We put down a deposit with Carrie, and she made the workmanship arrangements with her staff. Later that week, we had the thought of possibly replacing the carpet in the master bedroom and guest bedroom as well. We contacted Carrie about possibly acquiring a larger portion of the same carpet remnant for our rooms. She got back to us the same day, and arranged for someone to take measurements in the bedrooms at our home. The installation of the carpet, as well as the delivery of the area rugs occurred a few weeks after our initial visit at the store. Sharing some perplexing chronology of events. Went to this business to browse and get educated about flooring. When you check in, you get assigned to a salesperson similar to a car lot. Was assigned to Kim Roy. After some pleasantries, he left us alone to browse because he had another customer that he said walked in that he needed to help. While waiting we witnessed another salesperson sharing about a product. We learned a lot from him. That salesperson was clear and thorough. After waiting for Kim to loop back around to us, we decided on a particular vinyl plank product. He also highly recommended an installer Mike from MK flooring. Left a deposit. Kim was adamant that he needed 50% deposit based off of the rough square footage estimates we provided. Then scheduled Mike to do an estimate to do the installation. Mike gave us a price that we thought fit into our budget, but did not know that Kim adjusted the material cost; upward of course. Now we were way over our planned budget. When asked why did the total material cost get elevated so much and why didn't he inform us about it, he said he did. We were operating on the initial quote he gave and he said he did inform us. Later he discovered and shared that he had an email, but must have forgot to send it. Oh, well. During the installation process, I got a call from Kim saying that there was an error and the "warehouse" gave MK flooring too much material and we needed to return some of it. I explained that he and MK made the arrangements for the order based off of the measurements submitted by MK and the pick up was handled by the both of them, so I had no idea what was actually ordered or received. After installation, there was a nick in one of the planks. Asked MK to assess it because it could have been caused by the installation. MK insisted it couldn't be, but said he could glue it to fix it. When I explained that the manufacturer, whom I called to ask about the standard protocol for fixing such a problem, shared it needed to be replaced. Mike immediately said he would contact Kim to put in a claim and left quickly. Shortly after I get a text from Kim asking, "How does your new floor look?" I respond in email that there was a problem. Shared the picture of it and and asked what would be done to remedy the issue. No response. Fair is fair, there were a lot of strange occurrences that happened from ordering and installation. Not blaming anyone, but all I know is that I was left with a damaged plank from a brand new installation with no assistance to remedy the issue. Paid more than what I originally thought and am not sure if I truly understand what went on? read more

I went in to buy a carpet remnant today to use as a rug in our living room. We have a baby that will be crawling soon and felt that our hard wood floors wouldn't suffice for her baby soft knees. Once we entered the store the front desk was already calling a sales person to the showroom over a PA system to assist us. Imagine entering a car lot to purchase a car and the salesmen all jan ken po for who gets to work with you. That's pretty much the experience here. Anyways we walked to the remnants section in the back of the store through the glass doors. We briefly browsed and of course here comes a salesman Kim. I often like to browse alone first and if I have any questions then I would go to them. However he kind of just stuck around, then left, and then was right back by us again. I felt a little pushed to make a decision. I ended up finding a rug and I was glad to hear that it would hold up better to stains. When we told him what rug we wanted to purchase he immediately tried to sell us memory foam cushioning for the bottom of the rug. That was going to cost another $250. I was already paying $475 for my rug and then tack on another $250...no thanks. He literally took another 10 minutes trying to get us a quote for the memory foam and in the end I said no. My husband tried to ask if we could get the rug packed up already so we could finish faster but that never happened. We paid and had to wait another 10 minutes or more to have them wrap up the carpet for us and load it into my car. When we got home we unrolled our carpet only to find that in the inner part of the rug it has a giant black stain on it. Very disappointed that I just paid $475 on a rug that is pretty much damaged. read more

If only negative stars were an option... Here is my experience with Bougainville Flooring Super Store (BFSS): I ordered and paid $3,100 in advance for hardwood flooring for one room. When the flooring came in, one of the boxes had been damaged. I was told to just take the damaged box and try to make it work and that they would order me a replacement box if I couldn't. I declined to avoid getting halfway through installation and not have enough to finish. I informed BFSS that I had contractors scheduled based on their delivery date, so I needed the replacement wood soon. BFSS said they would need to make a claim to their insurance company before they would order me a new box. A month went by. I called, texted, went to the store, etc. They gave me the run around every time. It was always someone else's fault. I had to cancel my contractors...they didn't care. Eventually when I started calling the manager, the replacement box got ordered. When I got ready to install the wood, I called them to purchase the glue as I was told my warranty depended upon using the recommended glue. They told me to come into their store to purchase it. When I drove down to their store, they didn't have it. They told me that I needed to travel to another one of their locations to pick it up, which I did. When I opened the glue, there was mold on the glue. I called my sales representative at Bougainville Flooring because it appeared that the manufacturer's code said the glue was 5 years old and the manufacturer's website stated not to use any glue older than 18 months. My sales rep looked up the date they received the glue they sold me and told me it had been received by BFSS 3 1/2 years earlier! She said they didn't have any glue in their warehouse that was within manufacturer's 18-month limit and that I should just go buy glue at Lowes and she would refund me the money for the glue, which she never did. After I purchased glue from Lowes and began to install the floor, I unboxed the transition piece only to find that it was defective. Half of the transition piece had not been stained and there was a dark line down the middle where the staining process obviously stopped. I again called my sales representative who asked me to send her pictures which I did. Again, BFSS said they would need to submit another claim to their insurance company, and I would need to wait. I told them that I had carpet schedule to come in and I asked them to please just have the manufacturer ship another piece rather than wait for the insurance again. They declined, and for 6 weeks, AGAIN, I waited, called and texted only to get the exact same runaround and blame shifting. When the replacement piece finally came in, I went in to pick it up and checked to make sure they had processed the refund for the rancid glue only to discover that, of course, they never did so I had to go down to deal with that as well. I ended up having to have the carpet installed without the transition piece in place and will have to pay the carpet installers to come back and fix the issue once it is installed. In summary, this company is terrible. I only needed 3 things from them, flooring, glue and a transition piece and every single step was a nightmare. I didn't realize when I went there that they are one of the most expensive places to buy flooring on the island, but that aside, their customer service is horrifying. They did not care about me as a customer. They did not care how their errors affected me. They knew their glue was too old to sell, but they did it anyway. They obviously don't have an inventory control system to make sure they don't do things like sell 5-year-old glue to their customers. They made me chase them down with call after call after call after text message, etc. I had to make roughly 7 trips to their store to get everything resolved. In short, if there is a list of businesses to avoid at all costs on this island, Bougainville Flooring Super Store should be at the top of the list. read more

Today was my first time going to this store because we were looking for new carpet for our loft. Previous owners had cats and long story short, it smells like cat pee in the loft.. Anyways, my husband and I drove separately because I work closer to the store so I just drove from work. I got there early and decided to check it out before he came. Service here was great. A lady came up and attended to me right away. She asked me questions of what I was looking for and what size. Of course I told her I don't know and that my husband would know. Renovating your home for the first time can be intimidating. Don't get me wrong, after watching all these reno shows there's a certain excitement of picking your own color, style, etc. Of course price is another thing altogether, but that's a whole different thing and was already built into the research we did. With that said, we had already picked out and purchased flooring from a different vendor, but they were out of the "stair nose" that we needed to have. The time for it to come in was too long for us. The sales rep from that vendor referred us to this store. The ladies that greeted me were very nice, asked if I had a flooring specialist and since I said no called for someone to come out and help me. The floor specialist Kim was very helpful, and showed me a couple samples that closely matched the flooring sample I brought. He checked to see the availability and lucky for me they were both in stock. One was priced lower, but was of same quality. It took some time for me to make a decision, so Kim was very nice to give me some space until I made up my mind. Once I made my decision, he was very thorough and confirmed prices, color, and style. I couldn't pick it up that day, so he said that I could pick it up on the weekend, which is much more suitable for me. Thank you Kim for your help! Forgot to mention, they have their samples on the floor (in which they have a large floor space) and tons of samples. Bougainville Flooring made us feel like everything is normal. We didn't have to experience shipping nor installation delay for carpeting three bedrooms! Here"s the tip... ask Carrie Punzal, Flooring Ambassador, to show u good quality carpet that is in stock. Would u believe there were many choices. Carrie patiently explained the differences in each carpet and padding available. We chose a color, wrote up the contract, and made a deposit. Carrie scheduled us for a Saturday 2 weeks out. We had enough time to move furniture and paint the walls before they installed the carpet! Romel and his team (Amiel and Christian) promptly arrived at 8:00 am and completed 3 rooms by 11:30 am. The 3.5 hours included installation, sweeping the floor, rolling up the remnants for us to keep, and loading their truck with the old carpet and padding. All the while the installers were quiet, efficient, neat, and polite. They did an excellent job! I asked Carrie to set us up with Romel's installation team when we do our master bedroom. I came to return a carpet because the one we bought yesterday was bigger than expected. We walked in and the person we spoke to said we couldn't return it because the warehouse is closed. WEIRD because yesterday the warehouse loaded the carpet onto our van at 4:45pm! The guy probably didn't want to help cause he wasn't going to be able to get a sale. I was pleasantly surprised to find a huge remnant area - the largest of any store I've been to! I found one that was very unusual and Del came to help me. He arranged to have it cut as a rush as we were being recalled to the mainland by the military in response to the covid-19. We worked with Deborah Holbrook and she was very helpful, pleasant and patient in answering all of our questions. We stopped by just to check out their flooring stock and before you know it, we put a large order in due to their sale that was going on at the time. Although this was a somewhat impulse buy, Deborah was extremely accommodating and informative through the whole process. As a side note, I did do my due diligence prior to making my down payment and checked with another flooring store. Bougainville's sale price and their sale price for the same flooring material was the same but the other store's regular price is $2 per square feet more than Bougainville's. That made me feel better that I went with the company that is usually on the cheaper side for the same material. At the end of the day we were very pleased with the Pergo Extreme LVF that was purchased and the contractor that we used for installation also complimented us on purchasing high quality flooring that will last a long time. You need to be able to lay them all down together! So, today I spent the afternoon with Rick White at Bougainville Flooring and I have learned so much. Plus I have selected THE perfect vinyl plank floor for my house--and the carpet. (Wish I didn't like the Karastan so much). As soon as I entered the store, I was met promptly and cordially by flooring specialist Sean Okamoto, who proceeded to offer me water and welcome me to the store. Sean was extremely knowledgeable and patient as I asked him a myriad of questions not only about the products sold at the store but also about the process of flooring installation in general. After visiting few flooring material stores, I was quite impressed with showroom, selections, and reception that I received at this store. There were so many choices in the store that can be stressful, but Deborah Holbrook helped me finding vinyl plank, explained to me about materials, color coordination etc. Deborah was very cheerful, upbeat, and very knowledgeable of products that really made my decision making very easy. She coordinates with my contractor pick up and all the way to turn-in of left-over materials after the flooring work, showed me how whole process works. I am sure that she is very busy person, but she consistently demonstrated how happy to help me every time! Excellent service!!! Came here to look for flooring after looking at different stores, I had a specific idea of what I was looking for. When I came here I explained to Del what I was looking for and he brought out catalogs for me to look through. I found exactly what I was looking for, there were 3 different tiles that I liked. Del was so helpful and ordered me samples that came in really quick! Del offered GREAT customer service and communication where I felt like I could call him with any questions I had regarding my order. Our installation had some hiccups and again, we called Del to order more tiles and he came to the rescue.
