This has been one of the worse experiences I've had as a home owner. In the midst of all of the disaster came Grunt Works Construction. They were contracted to complete my en suite bathroom. They finished on budget and on time (I'm still waiting for the other contractors...that's another story). I can not speak highly enough of my experience with Grunt Works, specifically Jose and Albert. Yes, they were professional and did quality work. But, more than that they were compassionate, patient, and helped ease all of my frustrations. They went above and beyond the call of duty, answered every question, laughed at my corny jokes, picked up items from Home Depot for me, were patient when I cried about the process of navigating insurance company (on more than one occasion), and generally made their part of a stressful experience smooth. I proceeded to give a brief description of the RFP. He said he didn't remember anything about the Yelp request and the line went dead. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I called back. He didn't pick up. I'd like to thank him for showing me the real picture of his work habits before I hired him. I've had more than enough losers, stoners, under-skilled and/or time-wasters that claim to be professionals but aren't on-time, reliable tradespeople. Sound asleep at 3:30 p.m. isn't my idea of someone that actually works on indoor construction.

Near the end of the day he texts saying he got "held up". Failed to mention that he had any projects as I thought the Tuesday was my appointed day. Rescheduled and confirmed for Thursday. I ask for confirmation on Thursday for him to show up and responds with him still being "held up".
