We loved eating here. We stopped in Grants on our way to the Grand Canyon. Pizza was great!!. Prices were awesome too. So glad we skipped Sonic to go here! The place is vintage but has friendly people and good food. They even have an old Slush Puppy machine, if you like those. We fed our family of 5 (with two teenagers) for $40. We went for a birthday party. No gluten free pizza or sandwich options. I got a salad, modified and a sandwich without bread. All of the games weren't working which displeased some of the kids. This is a small operation but I think they could easily take it to the next level as there are very few places to have larger child friendly gatherings. I hope to see positive improvements and visit again in the future. There is, unfortunately, a lot of pizza competition for a town this small so they really don't stand up to the other locations from a GF perspective. read more

The lady taking the orders at the counter was holding a toddler when we ordered. After sitting down I noticed that the toddler had no shoes on. the toddler was placed on the ordering counter and the bottom of her feet were so dirty they looked black. The toddler was walking on the counter with her dirty feet which wasn't wiped after. very unsanitary. Pizza is not the greatest some ingredients are under the cheese like the pepperoni causing them to be soggy and not crispy which may be a personal preference but it's not for me. This place is also an arcade. Maybe 4 of the 20 machines were working. Even the change machine wasn't working. The place is run down. read more

Good food and fast delivery, all in the middle of nowhere New Mexico?! (sorry locals, don't hate me...I'm passing through and it's shows) We ordered a large thin crust pizza, chef salad & 6pc. wings. The food was delivered hot & fresh. Pizza was really good! Perfect amount of sauce, crust was crispy and it was loaded with toppings. The wings were kind of sauce-less, but tasty none the less! And the salad really impressed. We were only expecting just basic iceberg & deli meat but it was loaded with veggies and came with tons of extra dressing. Have ordered pizzas for takeout about four times. Each time I was satisfied by their pizza. This time I ordered a thin crust for delivery. Once it got here and I sat down to eat it, I realized the pizza was practically burned. It tasted burned and the crust was hard. We stayed in Grants on the way back home from vacation. We came across Surf Shack Pizza on YELP and Trip Advisors.....good ratings. We ordered a 4 topping Jumbo for less than $20 and it was Waaay better than most other pizzas at $30+. Great crust, sauce and toppings. I called ahead and picked it up. The staff was very friendly and the pizza came out less than a minute after I walked in. If you are in the area, give them a try. You will not be disappointed! read more

Ordered an XL pizza, and got the sorriest excuse for a pizza I have even seen in my life. It was quite literally over half crust. Just the center 1/2 had toppings, and so sparse it looked like something you would find at a post-apocalyptic diner. I tried to call (3 times) and give them the chance to make it right, but no one answered. To top it all off, they didn't deliver the 2 liter that I paid for, either. I have been ordering from them for almost 20 years now, and it was always hit or miss. Usually "hit". Lately, however, they have been epic failiing; delivering the wrong sandwiches, and forgetting drinks has become the norm. Great atmosphere for parties and the service has always been friendly! We make the drive anytime we can!

We came in today and while it was fun for the kids, I wasn't super impressed with the seating arrangement. The kids loved the slides and the games looked fun - we didn't play because the kids were acting up. We ordered 2 pizzas, a side salad and a pitcher of root beer. The pizza was really good and the salad, although plain was good. I only gave 3 stars because I wasn't that impressed with the condition of the inside. Next time I'm in Grants I will probably order the pizza for delivery. Crust was crunchy and fresh. The sauce was super fresh and very tasty. Excellent toppings and cooked to perfection. read more

Having lived in NYC for the last 16 years, I've had some really extraordinary pies. We decided to have fun and get a large Hawaiian. (We also got a salad to make ourselves feel better, but it was merely "meh": - I believe it was called the All Veggie, though it had Bacon Bits in it, which I could have done without). Back to the pizza - Just the right amount of cheese nicely browned on top, not too much marinara sauce, sweet and tangy bits of pineapple and some salty pieces of choice ham, again, made crispy right from the oven. The crust was not too thick and not too thin, had a nice bite and al dente texture. There may have been some corn meal on it; hubs said they made it fresh in house. Yum. read more

Certainly better than Domino's and Pizza Hut, which are also in the area. The thin crust is crunchy, which I love. However, the pizza had very little sauce. I couldn't barely see it, let alone taste it. The pizza tasted oddly similar to Celeste frozen pizza. I don't mean this as an insult, but just wanted to offer up a comparison. We found this place at the last minute as we were driving through. What perked my interest was that they had stuff for kids to do and decent reviews for the food. Pizza was definitely decent. Not anything fancy, but good overall. My 9 year old son loved the arcade area and my toddler loved the small rides. Great for some time out of the car on a long road trip. Nice pizza in a family friendly location. We chose a Hawaiian pizza (veggie option) and one with chili on it. Both personal size, they were big enough to be lunch the next day too. The place is unusual as there is a kids area which reminded us of Chuck e Cheese (with apologies if spelled wrong!). This place is off the beaten path, a few blocks from Old Highway 66, but the pizza is delicious, the thick, crunchy crust variety. The staff are welcoming and the parlor's decorations include at least a dozen actual surfboards, some of them classics. This place is great! Has a good family vibe and the staff is very accommodating. I got a veggie salad that came with bacon bits (they were vegan to my pleasant surprise.) I told them I would try them but they could probably tell I'm not a big bacon bit person, vegan or not. They offered to remake it and assured me it was no problem at all. Okay where should I start. Well the pizza is good. But hardly any of the games work and no refund because they don't have keys to them. Also don't plan to put you child in a high chair because none of the seat belts work. Overall just okay food nothing to brag about. read more
