Visited July 5 2026 in Yuba City. This place is always busy! This was my first time here. I learned a valuable lesson..don't go to the first lane marked as cashier. After waiting 10 minutes for the car in front of me to deal with with some kind of coupons I backed up and went to the middle lane which is self pay. Although it did not spit me out my receipt I think it was 16 bucks. The third lane is for members that pay on a monthly basis and get right through. Complimentary coffee ( I passed on that). The wash itself was just okay. No scrubbing...just the employee using a hose before going through the wash. My car still had a couple little bug marks on my windshield! They do have a very large area to vacuum and clean your car. That was a big plus. Overall not impressed. Probably won't be back. read more

I've been a member at Surf Thru for almost six years, so I've seen it change quite a bit over time. There are still things I really like about it, and a few things I don't love as much anymore. The biggest downside is that the quality of the wash has gone down somewhat since they first opened, while the price has gone up, almost doubled. That said, I still think it's a decent value depending on how you use it. I'm currently paying $20 a month for the Express membership. I wash my car frequently, vacuum it out there, and then do the detailing myself at home, wax, wheel shine, the works. For me, the most time-consuming and annoying part is the actual wash, so having unlimited access makes sense. The rest I don't mind doing on my own. If you have more money than time and want everything done for you, the top-tier membership is probably worth it. Unlimited free vacuuming anytime is a big plus, and it's convenient if you want your car to always look clean without extra effort. That said, there are a few things I miss. They used to scrub the front and back windows with a brush, which made a noticeable difference. Now they just spray some kind of soap on them, and it's not the same. They also used to include air fresheners with every membership, now that's limited to the top tier, and you only get one or you have to pay for them and they are $1 each. Overall, it's still a good deal if you take advantage of the unlimited washes and don't mind doing some of the finishing touches yourself. We have the monthly membership and have been coming here for 4yrs and we aren't happy with the changes and service. Over the years they have had the air fresheners free, now they charge. The prices keep going up and the worst thing that annoys me more, is the Prepaid/Self Pay is ALWAYS closed for Maintenance!!! We are currently here on a Saturday and we are stuck in the Cashier lane!! This is very frustrating and disappointing!!!! I think it's time to look for a new car wash place or start going to the one in Marysville!!! read more

I took my brand new car here and it was damaged.. I spoke to the manager he took a report and said someone would get back to me.. no one ever did. I asked for the corporate number.. called they took a report and said they would get back to me.. never did.. don't trust this place they will F up ur car and not help u or even call u back read more

8:15 pm Tuesday. For the car ahead of us the young lady did a pressure wash over most of the front of the car. She then waved us through with no pre-spray or any attention of any kind for our car. After exiting, we noticed that our windshield and windows had spots on the outside. It was horrible and we didn't have time to go back through again. This young lady looks like she hates her job. So sad she can't even smile or have a pleasant expression. Most of the time your attendants are very good. This girl tonight got us very upset. read more

Posting for my grandparent! They damage cars here and do not cover it. My grandma lost the antenna on their small sedan (just one of the fin types so not sticking out far at all). The car wash said they'd file a claim but never reached back out and never returned the lost part to her. My grandma had to call in to find out anything and they said the claim was declined. The fin antennas are apparently is tricky to replace and cost her over $1000 out of pocket to fix. They do not do the right thing here, do not waste your money. read more

The employees are supposed to be guiding us in. The lady tonight just had me continue straight until the pipe piece that's supposed to guide the tire curbed my front driver wheel. She continued telling me to go straight. Never told me turn. Now my front driver wheel is damaged on my vehicle that isn't even a year old. If I hit a random curb I could blame myself, but she just wasn't good at her job and couldn't even do the minimum of directing me. read more

I was rear ended May 20th 2025... I tried to contact the Surf Thru on their website to suspend my account until I am cleared to return to the car wash after my paint cured. I couldn't get through to suspend my account online so I contacted them by email and they finally called me back only to cancel my service and refuse to refund the month of service I was charged and unable to use. They said I am cancelled now and that to renew my unlimited service I will be charged 5.00 more per month! Not only is this out of my control it's ridiculous! Most of the time the service they provide is half assed anyway! It's not right that they treat the customers in such a way. I am out $35.99 and in order to restore the horrible service they provide it will cost me $39.99! Friendly employees, but the wash leaves a lot to be desired. We were thinking of becoming members, but will not be doing so. Admittedly, I haven't been in a while because the location wasn't easy for me to get to for a while. Now that we are close to one again, we went to buy a membership. Couldn't do so with Google pay, must have physical card. So, I paid for one wash, and was glad I only paid for one. There used to be 2 people scrubbing the bugs from the front and the windshield, but no more. I thought maybe they were short staffed, but learned from another post they no longer have the extra person. And whatever he did spray my windshield with did nothing for the bugs. We live in a farming community and the bugs on your windshield are not only gross, but can be dangerous as they can hinder your visibility. All the dead bugs are still on my windshield. Believe me, if I was physically capable of doing my own, I would. But fornthe price, If rather find a gas station that offers a discount wash with a fill up. Customer Service is below what is expected at any business, rude and unprofessional in short. Talked to Andrew (MGR) last time but as they went from 2 people precleaning to 1 person squirting water and nothing more...worthless. Stuck behind a car in the prepaid line, unfortunately the poor lady didn't know she was in the wrong line and the girl working the pay line ignored her, even after being told of the issue. Don't hire lazy ignorant people, I canceled my membership, try calling any location and only get a recording saying they are too busy to answer, and if you go to their contact us part of their website someone a day or two later calls and does not leave a message or callback information, just hangs up, are you just that lazy or just ignorant . read more

Share card member for years. No communication when price increases. Since a member they have taken away so much. No brushing the vehicles, no air fresheners, no express lane access and sometimes vehicle is sprayed. My vehicle usually comes through with a lot of soap, so bad that the employees will even ask me to run through again. Service has really taken a nose dive and communication is non existent. Even their employees are frustrated. Wash your car at home or support a better alternative in your area. This place is a gimmick and joke. read more

When they first opened they were great!!! But..... they have slowly gotten worse. They used to have two guys with pressure washers and brushes to do a pre wash. It was great!! Well, now one guy standing there looking like he's bored spraying a little soap on half the windshield! Big deal, waste of time. The dryers used to do a good job, now we have to basically dry our own car. The vacuums used to work great!! Now half of them are plugged up completely or just hardly have any suction. No one seems to care at all. We cancelled our monthly wash's last month, it's like why bother. Too bad because it used to be a great place! read more

Worse car wash customer service ever! So I came here 2wks ago to get my car washed. And they had an option at the kiosk where if you paid $20 "Extreme Wash" you save $5 off for the next time you visit by providing receipt to cashier. So with that ad that populated on the screen, I obviously chose that so I can save $5 the next time I came in. Which is would be today, so was hoping to save $5 off of the Extreme Wash. Hold and be told, I was told by the cashier that they discontinued "save $5off Car Wash" of Oct 2022 and no longer honor it. Like WTF!!!!! Why is still advertise when I came in 2wks ago, and now you're telling me it's discontinued and can't do anything with your system? TF! This is pure a bad representation of the company and Team Staff members not being able to honor it while still advertising it. NOTHING MAKES SENSE! So I basically spent $20 upgrade 2wks ago for no apparent reason in hopes of saving $5 for the next washed I came in for that upgrade. Next time, at least manually post a sing next to the kiosks that this ad no longer works than having it been posted as of Feb 2023 when the promo is no longer valid since Oct 2022. Like TF!!!!!! Never coming here again, and I advise others to not come. To add insult to injury, the vacuums don't even work or is barely sucking any dirt. THIS CAR WASH HONESTLY SUCKS! This whole car wash isn't professional and ethical by going to their word. I used Surf Thru regularly when the first opened. It was a pretty good wash and I liked that they have vacuums. a couple years ago I started using a car wash that's closer to home. But they were not open consistently. So I thought I'd give Surf Thru a try again. I noticed they don't have the two guys with brushes at the entrance and figured they were just short handed. Today I returned and found still no brush guys. The fellow that gets you started simply sprayed the front and driver side of the car. The first two brushes on the passenger side ran dry: no soap or other liquid. I look forward to some very fine scratches on that side. The was left much to be desired: very wed and a number of areas were missed that should have been cleaned. A lot of bug residue was left on the front and on the side mirrors. I hope the management can fix these problems, as word travels quickly in a small town.... People will probably pay a little more for a better quality wash. I'm going to start washing my car in the driveway again. read more

I have a monthly membership here and it's hit or miss on the helpfulness of the person leading you into the carwash at times but one day I went and this gentleman named Landon directed me to the car wash, but stopped and took the time to spray off the sides of my car that usually remain dirty after I leave the car wash. I was pleasantly impressed by his attention to detail and how much effort he put into his job!! Tip the ones that hook you up like Landon does!! read more

This place has gotten ridiculous. We stopped going and cancelled our membership because our cars rarely came out fully clean....and it's not as if we were going in with horribly filthy vehicles because we had a membership and went about once a week. It's been months and I made the mistake of coming through to give it another shot today. Definitely nothing has gotten better...prices continue to go up, and they even charge an extra fee for the one air freshener stick you used to get included in the car wash price. I went here, because my car had a fair amount of bugs on the front and the website had a picture of a person cleaning the front prior to going through the wash. Needless to say, they didn't do this and I had a bunch of wet bugs on the front after the wash. Last week, I watched an associate wash both sides of some pickup truck. So I thought I better ask why some ppl get both sides washed. So asked, but an associate wasn't too friendly, I guess he didn't like the both sides wash question. So he radioed his manager. I told him that it's ok. u guys already held me for 10 mins. Today, when I went for a wash, i was told that they traminate my account in yuba City and Marysville. But I'm paid for Feb already. So, I asked if both of my cars are terminated? Yuba City Location associate said, "Call corporate next I asked, "Did you delete my c/c from your system?" Yuba city location associate said call corporate. What? You guys terminated my account for asking simple question but don't wanna answer about C/C in your system. He told me to ask corporate but don't wanna give me #. I had to Google corporate #. I had surf thru for over two years when I purchased my new Outback and love the service. However, recently my card on file was compromised and my membership was canceled even though I had previously attempted to update my new card prior to my membership being canceled. I attempted to get my car wash one day and was told my membership had "expired". They were willing to sign me back up but at $3.0O increase and would not honor my previous membership and gave me a card to speak to "Dana". who is Dana? I am never able to speak to a live person and only get links to sign back up at the new cost, I currently refuse to do business with Surf Thru because of this- bad customer service. read more

Unfortunately this place has fallen pretty far downhill. Ever since they stopped having attendants pre-wash your vehicle, it seems the automated system alone doesn't really clean your car. If the owners cared about their customers, they would notice this (either in their lot or via bad reviews) and fix this but it's clear they don't care so long as people keep on paying. The quality of the car wash is atrocious. I literally had to take my car home and house it down on my own after. Add to that my car was in neutral and towards the end of the car wash it started to reverse my car into the vehicle behind me?! I literally had to turn my car into drive and drive out or we would have collided. When I called to inform them immediately after a feminine voice was rude and condescending to me like me sitting in my vehicle touching nothing, had done it. Update in response: My car was in neutral from the start. I mentioned before that I do come here 8-10 times a month. I am fully aware of the instructions. I always put my car in neutral when I enter and let the tracks do their thing. The only time I put it in Drive was at the end when the attendant came over to wave me forward from where I was stuck under the dryer. If this can be caused by other cars up ahead not following instructions then wouldn't spacing cars a bit more help prevent collisions? After the first hit I thought maybe the car in front of me was braking to try and stay under the rinse longer. I made sure to watch and see if they were stopping but their brake lights never came on. Their car just wasn't moving and they seemed as confused as I was. The only reason I ended up using my brakes was because my car was physically being pushed up and over something, into the unmoving car in front of me. Had I not used my brakes, my front bumper would have come down on top of their rear bumper. I don't want a discount. I don't want a refund. I don't need someone to fix the tiny little scratches on my car. I would just like to be able to come in for a basic car wash with confidence that my car isn't going to hit or get hit by another's. read more

I stand behind my review. The washes went downhill when you reduced staff. I don't want to go back through for a second wash when it should be clean the first time. The mechanical brushes will not get the rear of an suv clean. If you get the two people back I'll give it another chance. Not sure how your testing shows otherwise. Nearly every negative reviewer here says the service went downhill when the two preppers were eliminated. Maybe listen to your customers? read more

Besides it being busy all the time, I've had no problems with service and no problems with my car coming out of the wash. I know they've raised prices, but I always go with the cheaper option which is $11 as of right now and it cleans my car pretty well. read more

I have been using them on the monthly multi-car plan but I've finally had enough of the poor quality. I was told they are under new management and that is why the two employees who used to give your vehicle a short prewash are no longer there instead there is one person who squirts stuff on your car. One of the air blowers to dry the lower half of the passenger side hasn't worked in the last 6 months or more.
