Went to get my water tested and even though I got there 5 minutes before they closed, they tested my water with no problem, helped me pick out all of the chemicals, and gave me thorough instructions about how and when to put everything in. WARNING!! DO NOT USE THIS POOL COMPANY, SURFSIDE POOLS. THEY DO NOT BACK THEIR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. I purchased a liner from Surfside Pools in August 2024, it was $700 and change and then with tax over $800. I was looking for an installer for the liner and the girl at the store said they have installers that work for Surfside Pool, they are not independent contractors. I hired one of their supposed installers but do believe he is an independent contractor. He showed up without any notice and called me at work and said he was there. I said I could not leave work and did not know he was coming. He said you don't have to be here. When I got home, he left debris all on one side of my pool, plastic, paper, screws and a razor blade near my pool pump. He also took my spade shovel. I was not impressed at all with the installation, the bottom of the pool was wrinkled but as long as it was installed correctly and would last, I did not want to complain. I called the installer and said you took my shovel by accident, and he said he would return it the next day. He came the next day when I was in the backyard and he stuck it into the ground on the side of my driveway. I said thank you and he said oh ya you would have been out all of like 30 bucks and he left. The pool was closed after the installation because it was late Aug 2024 and was too cold at the point. We used it the summer of 2025. It was then closed properly. Early April I had a blow out and all the water drained. I looked at the liner and noticed it was split all at the seam of the liner at the bottom of the pool. I contacted Surfside Pool and thought surely they will help me and back their product and services but NOPE! I sent pictures and they said that is not at the seam so I asked them to send one of their employees out to look for themselves because it was absolutely right at the seam all around. I got the same rehearsed speech from 3 Surfside Pool employees, it was a very bad winter and alot of people unfortunately have the same problem, nothing we can do. They sent out a repair man and I was told by him how wonderful Surfside Pool is and that I would get a free liner, which really is a replacement liner, not free! And he would be able to install for around $1,100 to $1,500. I just paid over $2,000 a year and a half ago and I have to pay again!!!!!! I asked to talk to the owner Rick and Rick did call and offered to sell me a left over liner from last year. It is $550 but I will sell it to you for $350 and will set you up with one of our installers. I would have to buy the liner again and pay for installation again. If Rick had met me somewhere in the middle, this would not be on here but NOPE, no CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL!!!!!! Don't use this company, if you have any trouble they will not help you. read more

Terrible service. Awful prices. Poor communication. My regular pool person retired so we had to get the pool open in a pinch due to area damage. I was hesitant to call them, seeing the negative reviews, but they were the only ones who could come out quickly and I figured that a pool opening was straightforward enough. I was VERY wrong. The opening cost us $400 for a 20x40 in ground pool and then they ADDED $50 on top of that AFTER they opened it, due to us having a pool heater! Mind you, the heater was not working/did not even turn ON due to the damage, but they decided to charge us anyway because that's what they charge "opening pools with heaters." What? Also, they just tacked the extra $50 to the invoice without any detailed explanation. I had to call to get a clarification and even then I was puzzled, because the heater did not work. I guess they charged the extra $50 because the broken heater existed! For the $450 they charged, they rolled off the cover, threw in some chemicals (or so they said) and were gone. They didn't even drain and stack the water blocks that were all around the pool (they hold cover in place in the winter) or get rid of the leaves that were at the bottom of the pool. The area was left a mess. They never told us that they were leaving and they didn't ask if everything was okay. We just got the bill with cryptic line items and prices. Now I need to find another pool company to come in and get the pool in shape. Bottom line, don't waste your time and money with this pool company. read more

My husband and I went to Surfside in Leominster on May 30, 2025, hoping to purchase a table and chairs for our pool deck. We were the only customers during our entire visit, but still had to search for an employee, who basically tossed us a booklet by their supplier "Telescope," and walked off. I suppose we were meant to navigate the many possibilities of sizes, table top materials, fabrics, etc, entirely on our own. And since no prices were listed, I guess we were meant to ask what each possible option would cost. They seem to expect to ring up an expenditure of over a couple of thousands of dollars with less effort than the convenience store employee rings up your coffee. But finally, our "salesperson," now sitting a good distance away at the cash register and chatting with a buddy - and having an apparent aversion to walking - called out, "Any questions?" I responded pointedly, "Oh, I guess I'll just have to take the book home and figure it all out myself!" She seemed happy enough with that answer. When we walked out, I looked over to see her "salesperson" buddy flipping through photos on his phone, totally uninterested, I guess, in providing customer services and making a sale. read more

Dillon, the manager at Surfside has been very helpful in the past. However, this year (2024) for our above ground pool opening the following occurred. Two pool guys came to the house promptly. They didn't let us know they were working on the pool --okay, although I prefer a doorbell ring as peeps have done in the past. They went quickly, so quickly that by the time I got out to see what was going on, it was unclear whether some water on the top and leaves had gotten in the pool because of the way they took off the cover. If I hadn't looked in the pool, one of the guys would not have even noticed the deflated pool pillow he left in the pool after he pulled off the cover. The other guy hooked up the pool and did not tighten the hoses well enough (one is still leaking). Another hose seems to have sprung a leak since the guys left. No one asked for the basket to put in the skimmer that collects debris. They did put our ladder in the pool--good--but never asked where it should go, so we had to move it (we are 77 and in good shape, but still...). They never let us know they were leaving, i.e. asked if everything was okay. I realize these guys have many pool openings in one day, however when I called the company to say that some things went wrong and asked to speak to the manager, he wouldn't speak to me. I was told by Patrick "If you don't like our work, take your business elsewhere." After my husband reached them after THREE phone calls (and threatening a bad review), they came out for a return visit to fix the two malfunctioning hoses. I felt better about the company, but still. Was this sexism? Maybe. They left the old hose and the box the new one came in strewn on the grass. And they are not dependable IMO. We paid $300 for an above ground pool opening, nothing for visit#2, and $26 for a new hose. Not good IMO. read more

I just had seasonal pool opening by these guys. The guy was so rude. After removing the cover and spending about five minutes on the site the guy was gone and he left us a three hundred dollar bill????? Really customer service is not in the company DNA. We called the company again. The second visit was even worse. First I did not know that they were coming today. I said hi to the two guys. The younger ones was pleasant enough. I asked the other guys whether he was here a couple days ago. He said yes and walked over the pools. "You still don't have enough water in the pool" he said, before storming out the gate. So impressed with the staff at Surfside Pool. They have a new location on Chelmsford Street, Chelmsford and the staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful, especially Dylan. He was so patient, calm and helpful, even when everyone happened to show up at the same time and he was alone. He acknowledged every customer. This store has pool/hot tub supplies and ski gear. Ski and snowboard rentals are priced very reasonable and the condition and quality are so much better than renting at the mountain. Highly recommend. read more

For a pool that was supposed to take days to install now is on month 3. But they are quick to cash checks. The typical company that leaves you asking yourself the same question, regardless of industry: "How do these people stay in business in 2012?" The sales process was fine, but installation was a nightmare, and thanks to Surfside not properly compacting the sand under the pool and grading the land, we are looking at $10,000 of follow-on landscaping work. They didn't even bother to tell us we needed a permit in our town for a pool of our size, which added a lot of undue stress to the project. Their response when we brought it to their attention? "We don't get involved in that stuff." I suppose they don't get involved in noticing that we haven't spent a dime with them since the pool went in for all the chemicals and post-setup work. Their loss, I guess. if you're looking to add a pool, stick to Budget in Peabody on Route 1. read more

Don't know what happened to these guys. They did a good job as I used them to open/close my above ground pool since 2018. The opening this year was a disaster as they dumped the contents of the pool cover into the pool and mangled the ladder. I decided to write that experience off and called in July to secure a mid September closing date and all was good. I called the day before the closing to confirm and was told I was on the schedule. The day of the closing, they did not show! I thought OK, they had a tough day and would come the next day. I called the next day and was told the technician refused to close my pool. The reason was that part of the filter was under a deck. This was true, but it has been true since they have been servicing my pool for the last 5 years-nothing changed! Instead of telling me in July they would no longer service my pool, I now have to find someone in late September as the leaves are falling! Horrible, do not use! read more

I went shopping around looking for a pool last year and i was really impressed with the service at Surfside Pool in Chelmsford. When I called a few weeks ago they offerred to come out to the house look at the landscape and brought all the materials to explain the different above ground pool options and accessories. They also did mention having to get a permit and how far way from the home and septic you have to be. Very professional and will be ordering a pool from them this week. I will follow on with reviews once it is installed. So far top notch. read more

4 yrs later and 3 attempts to fix a leaning issue my pool still isn't installed properly. I still have a side leaning in and the opposite side leaning out since it was installed. The contractor surfside uses are absolutely horrible, the guys name was Mike I think. Last time he was here he said "if you think i'm going to completely reset this your nuts, not gonna do it, its just a visual aesthetic". A different contractor told me that this guy didn't have a clue as to what he was doing and issue is actually getting dangerous. Gonna cost me around 2k+ next spring for someone else to come assess the base as it seems to be starting to slope and then reset the pool. Unless your going to have someone else do the install I wouldn't do business with Surfside. read more

I went in to the store last night with my husband to find out as much information as possible about above ground pools, we know nothing. The gentleman who helped us has no enthisiam. We were hoping to speak with someone who would be knowledgabe and forthcoming with information, instead we felt we had to pull what little info we could from him. Sell us on a pool! That is what we came there for and of course, information. We weren't looking for a binder with dimensions, we could find that online. No thank you, on to another pool company. read more

Called for a estimate to install an inground pool. A nice woman told me someone would be in touch with you shortly. Scott sent me an email and asked what I was looking for. I gave him an idea but really needed to have someone come and look since they give free estimates. I didn't hear back so I sent him another email. The next morning he sends me an email on how hard it is to put in a pool where I live. Scott gave me an estimate of 55000 to 75000 without even looking at my yard. Told me the city I live in would make it more expensive to get materials. The whole experience from the start made me feel like I was bothering him because I sent a couple of emails.It would of been easier to say I don't feel like driving down to Revere you might have to look at another company instead of overpricing a job you NEVER looked at! I would rather dig the whole myself than ever deal with this company. read more

We had our pool liner replaced this year with Surfside Pool Company, despite the fact that we had a written quote from another company for four hundred dollars less. The primary reason was because Surfside stressed their quick turnaround - that it only took two weeks to get the liners fabricated and shipped, and that they'd be able to install them in two or three days. We ordered our liner on May 10th - and were told it would be installed by the end of May, or the first week of June if there happened to be really bad weather for a few days. They also confirmed that Surfside would do a pressure test of all the lines (as the competitor mentioned they would do as part of the install process). The first week of June (when the liner should have been completed), I called Surfside to inquire when to expect the liner to be installed. I left a message and never received a call back. Over the next week and a half, I called Surfside once a day - ten times, leaving messages and never receiving a single call back. When the right person happened to answer the phone by chance during one of the calls, he told me that they were busy and just not calling people back, and that there was some sort of issue "at the factory" with our liner which had delayed it, but that it should be in any day. On June 7th, they said the liner would be there the following Monday, and should be installed that week. I called again on June 13th, having never received any sort of follow-up, and he said that they were waiting on the Fitchburg location to schedule the install. On June 18th, the install finally started, and was completed 3+ weeks after the "worst case" date we'd originally been given. Having not heard back from Surfside, I again called the next week to ask about the pressure test which had been promised, and was told that someone could come out on 7/7 (at this point, 4-5 weeks after everything should have been completed). The entire process of working with Surfside has been extremely frustrating. Although delays and mishaps can occur in any business, the complete lack of proactive communication and any sort of follow-up has been completely unacceptable. read more

Many issues with the contractor they hire. As with another reviewer- they did a poor job grading the sand under the pool. There are may creases and lumps in the bottom of the liner. When pool first installed, they had to come back and redo the liner, as it was done poorly the first time. There has a been a dent in the side 2x now and still waiting for them to come back and repair for the second time- 2 no shows. We've had to fill and empty the pool 2x now. So disappointed. The ladder we received was broken and the pump came with a broken pressure gauge. Never again. Contractor they use is MH Construction- horrible. read more

We were searching for an in-ground pool and had shopped at quite a few places, we came across Surfside and spoke with the salesperson who immediately came out to our yard and reviewed the entire process with us. We were having a hard time visualizing the pool size and space, so the salesman actually had a full size template of the pool which he laid out in our yard, that was a huge help. Two of the other companies we tried to talk to seemed to be more bothered by us than willing to help. Our salesperson from Surfside actually spent several hours showing various options and completed pools, and came back and visited with us again to help us position the pool template just right and help us visualize what we would eventually have, I am so glad he did, the final layout works best. We got a full quote including possible additional costs involved in building the pool, the other companies did not mention any of these costs, and our pool came in on budget as estimated. The crew worked very hard to build the pool on time, and it was completed in less than three weeks. Our family loves our pool, and have had no issues with it. Occasionally I will have a question and when I call the store, they are always helpful. I would ( and have ) recommend this company. read more
