It was a lot of things and activities for the kids to do! It was a kid friendly environment! Safe and fun for the kids!

***This review is only regarding their sensory hour session. Our friends saw their flyer and sent me a picture of their sensory hour time. OMG....SUCH a huge game changer. The sensory hour is only available on the first Sunday of each month. This is our first-ever experience and it did not disappoint. We didn't do anything ahead of time because I didn't want to risk any confusion and additional paperwork. Very easy to do and sign up - we all decided to do it as a family to jump around. I'm so glad that we got the chance to try this for our boys. Our boys loved it, didn't get too overwhelmed and just had the place to check out at their own pace. My boys loved their arcade (mainly because of the crazy lights and the movements). Overall, it was just an awesome experience for the amount of time that they offered (2 hours). It was amazing and worth it. It's forever marked on our calendar as long as it is offered, we will be coming here every month as soon as we can. Thank You!!!! read more

We were in town visiting our grandkids, 6 & 5, and joined them at Surge for a birthday party. It's a fun place with tons of fun things for kids, but could not believe the lack of unsupervised areas by the staff. Big kids, and adults jumping in the same areas with little kids, and ziplining right over little ones who were still in the pit trying to climb out, totally unsafe, crazy, and irresponsible for thus company to allow. But way worst is the huge mall door entrance which remains open. We saw 2 little ones running out the door, parents nearby, and a lost 4 year old which we return to his parents. I was a nervous wreck by the time we left. read more

He definitely enjoyed his visit here while attending a birthday party. He was too small for the zipline and climbing walls, but enjoyed the foam pit, dodge ball, basketball, slides, and other trampolines. The hosts were kind to us all. read more

My son had an amazing time and that makes us happy! He's 2 so they have toddlers and kids time at 11A with reduced price. An hour was plenty of time but we prob could've went on for another 30 mins. Just plenty of space for him to enjoy and explore. We will be back! read more

Lots of fun areas for different ages. However, this place is run by teenagers who don't care about doing their jobs. They've walked around, charged their phones, and one kid took a nap on the clock. Also far too expensive. Brought a toddler here for the toddler time and ended up paying $60 for two adults and a toddler. We chose to stay because he was so excited but overall this place is poorly run compared to other places nearby. read more

Surge adventure park is located inside of Regency Square Mall. Although the mall is dead Surge is alive and well. We waited about15 minutes to get inside the park. While waiting we had to fill out a waiver form. You also have to purchase their safety socks which are about 4 bucks a pop. They host select specials during the week for discounted prices like 2 for 1 and/or reduced prices for toddlers which is a really nice perk. They have several play areas for the kids: * Ninja course- which is like an America Ninja warrior style course. *climb house: the sign says it's for little kids 4&under but no one is standing there enforcing that. *bounce basketball: you jump on a trampoline to dunk the ball *dodge ball: this is a huge attraction for older kids. A lot of smaller kids got hurt playing in the dodge ball area. *arcade: you can play games and win prizes They have a few other attractions as well but the above mentioned are the ones my kids loved. This place like so many others is being impacted by Labor shortages. There were only 2 employees managing the entire place. Between getting people checked in and doing the occasionally sweep to make sure everyone was safe there was no time for sanitizing or cleaning anything. I'm surprise that this place has a total of 2 1/2 stars. This is the perfect place you want to take your kid to let out all their energy. It has everything from rock climbing walls for the professionally skilled a jungle gym for kids for an under zip lining trampolines and even the surge ninja course. Plenty of benches and couches to sit on since parents we really just come here to watch the kids have fun. Having a birthday party soon for your kids birthday party here. If you're an adult and you're gonna be jumping here look for a good work out. They keep it nice and cold in here to keep you from sweating bullets. So far we've been three different times and my son and husband are the ones that are always jumping and having the good time. Great fun and I bet in winter mo the they are busy! I wish i could give 0 stars. Arrived for a birthday party that was to begin at 10:00 a.m. today. Arrived around 9:55 and the place was dark and locked up. Parents of the birthday boy arrived and were shocked to see that no one was there. They called many numbers, got no answer and one person saying "oh someone is on their way." One person to work a birthday party with 30 kids? By 10:30 no one had showed up so we ended up singing happy birthday with cupcakes in the atrium of the dark mall. Never again. I feel so bad for the parents who were promised and paid for a party to get nothing. I pre signed the waiver with the party information listed, so it's not like they didn't know it was happening. Also, there was a dumpster of trash outside of the place with a pizza box completely open. So unsanitary and just asking for rodents. Added: i can't reply to the managers response but no one had covid. I was there with the birthday boy and his family (plus his 20 guests) as his parents tried to get someone to open the facility. We went here this past weekend so our kids could play with their friends. It was busy but the kids loved it. I was pleasantly surprised, it's not just trampolines. My daughter had been wanting to try a rock climbing wall and this place had a few different climbing option. There is also an arcade but it's quite pricey. My daughter loved their socks. The equipment was ok but the place was severely understaffed. They hosted a line out the door because there was only one person checking everyone in on a Saturday at noon. I asked what was going on, and was told their boss just left. So they left the staff on a Saturday at noon. Great management. The facility was pretty dirty and reeked of low effort. Between trash on the floor and hand written signs for information that seems permanent, it really didn't make you feel like the rest of the place was maintained well, especially when your kids are jumping into foam pits. Suggestion: get some permanent signs made to look the least bit professional. And vacuum and sweep the floors. Also, maybe support the staff if you're managing the place. read more

They have all the traditional bouncy house trampoline plus diving in the pit, obstacles, basketball, and climbing. This place even has a little people zone. This is perfect for all ages. My family & i have been going here for a long time, celebrating birthdays, going for fun etc etc. Now it is very sad that i have to write a bad review because we'd love coming here, but last night we went & my daughter split open her forehead. there was two employees 1 was very helpful & the other stood there with no help at all. (no managers were present) was told the next day to call or come in to file a incident report. So i did call this morning, spoke to a manager (andrew) was so rude & i explained what happened & i just wanted the video what had exactly happened, what did she exactly hit. etc. i wanted to help in the future for any kids so it doesn't happen again.( more padding or styrofoam ) & he hung up on me while i was still talking. as a manager i don't think that was so professional. i was so upset. my husband also called & was hung up on... so I went ahead into surge today & filed an incident report & no manager present again. you would think there would be managers there at all times for things like this or at all times no matter what. Manager was in inappropriate clothing and bickering with his staff. He was on his phone with ear buds in and not helping his staff. My kids kept complaining to me about his clothing and I had conversations with other mothers about this situation and they felt the same way. Surge managers need to be dressed in appropriate clothing especially when working with kids the kids should not be able to see other people's private areas because clothing is too tight. overall disregarding this situation my kids had fun and we would love to come jump again. read more

Arrived for a birthday party. They never came to open the park. They were supposed to and the reservation was booked for 10am but they never opened. Then they claimed on Yelp it was because of Covid? First time coming for my daughters 4th birthday and I can say I won't be coming back . The facility was dirty and the wavier station kept crashing. The system as a whole took everyone a long time to navigate. It seemed like that the entire staff had been hired before opening today . Most were on there phone or playing on the obstacles themselves, not providing supervision or instruction on there given area. Like most trampoline places I expected adults to be jumping around but to have 40 year old men back flipping in a 4 and under zone? I guess that's why they have you sign the wavier huh. But this goes to how the staff and facility is managed .The entire experience was a complete no go for me and when made our way out to the car I saw three employees smoking at one of the buildings and it wasn't a cigarette. read more

*READ BEFORE BOOKING A BIRTHDAY PARTY* We booked a party for our two daughters, paid for the 10 jumper package. The table wasn't set up and they only gave us ONE table, stating "you booked a package for 10 jumpers" yes, that doesn't mean only 10 kids were coming therefore leaving all adults standing the entire 2 hours and all kids squished into one table. I had to ask for the balloons and water that were supposed to be provided, then I was told we would only receive 10 waters because we only paid for 10 jumpers. Online it says no outside drinks allowed, but other parties brought their own and the ones who followed rules were only give the amount of waters per jumpers (not posted anywhere on website) The place was packed, our guests had to wait in a long line (only one line was open and it was out the door) because the party line wasn't operating/open due to the lack of staff therefore cutting into the 2 hour party window that was booked for. The package included set up, utensils, party shirt and clean up which we received NONE of. The jumping areas were complete chaos, you pay for your time when you get there but there is no staff enforcing your time limit. A recap if you made it this far - nothing of their party package was provided, they didn't have any birthday shirts, the information about only having one table and only waters for jumpers is no where to be found on their website. 100% look elsewhere for booking your party, at least Defy offers your own room & is staffed, which is worth the extra $50 if you're to bring in your own food. And if you do happen to book a party, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. read more

Half the features were "closed". They ran out of socks. The staff consisted of a bunch of surly teenagers who couldn't possible care less. We attempted to use contactless payment (ApplePay) and the person behind the counter refused to take it despite all evidence that they do take it. Twice as expensive as SkyZone with no additional benefit. Save your money and avoid this place. I give it six months tops before they're closed. The management should be ashamed. The facility is great and my kids always have a blast. It's also a convenient location. However, it is poorly managed. I went on a Monday because I knew it wouldn't be in the packed since most kids should be in school. I took my son here for his 4th bday a my friends daughter and let them run around and tire themselves out. I would definitely recommend coming here on a weekday if you're able to. read more

'SURGE DESTROYED OUR DAUGHTER'S 5TH BIRTHDAY.' I am writing this as a warning to anyone who might have a birthday party planned or is currently planning a party at the Surge Adventure Park in Recency Mall. My family booked our daughter's 5th birthday party far in advance (for 11/14) and on the day of the party the staff decided to "walk out" leaving us (along with dozens of other customers, including several other birthday parties) high and dry. We were notified that additional staff was on the way, but they never showed and we were then asked to leave by mall security. This was obviously devastating for our daughter and all of her friends, and embarrassing for us as parents attempting to host a party of over 30 guests. We ended up having her party in the food court of the Regency Mall. To make things worse, Surge has shown very little concern or empathy over what happened. We have yet to hear from anyone in upper management to offer a proper apology. Every communication we've had with the Surge corporate office has been us calling them, they have never taken initiative to reach out and try to right the situation. On top of the lack of professionalism, the facility was absolutely filthy. Trash everywhere. Bathrooms with clogged toilets, urine, and feces everywhere. We wanted to give other parents a heads up so this heartbreak doesn't happen to your family. It was devastating to tell our 5 year old and her friends they couldn't be there and enjoy the party they were promised. There are a ton of other trampoline parks in the Richmond area (Launch, Skyzone, etc.) who would have probably loved our business and who treat people right. read more

My boys love surge. So I will give it 4 stars. I love surge too, and I'm believe it has a lot of potential, but I'm sick of listening to INAPPROPRIATE MUSIC around my 2 and 3 year olds, they definitely need a better playlist for kids! And there are too many kids working there, I'd rather my 2 year old be strapped up to climb a rock wall by an adult, not someone in highschool. This has quickly become our favorite trampoline park in the Richmond area. Located inside the mall in the former Macy's North building, it's a big warehouse full of fun! This place definitely makes kids tired! There's a lot more to do here than bounce on trampolines: there's climbing (safely with a harness and auto belay), a dodgeball trampoline court, a Ninja course, a zip line, a trampoline basketball court, a special area for ages 4 and under, and even more. Plenty of couches for the adults to sit on while supervising too. All of this is included in admission, which starts at $14/hour and goes up to $28/3 hours, with pricing by the half hour in between. There is a special discount of $8 for 2 hours for the 6 and under crowd (T-F from 11-1) with a $2 charge for an adult to jump with them. One price for unlimited jumping on Tuesdays and a special homeschool time and discount on Thursdays. The rest of the time, you only pay for those that are jumping so adults are free as well as kids under 2. Unlike other trampoline parks, any trampoline socks will do (and if you're like us, you already have some from SkyZone, Defy, etc.) but you can also buy a pair for $3. You can spend a whole lot more at the adjacent arcade but you sure don't have to! Our kids, 9, 6 and 4, have been perfectly happy to play in the adventure park without touching the arcade. We've been on a weekend and it was pretty busy but there was no wait to buy a ticket at the door. On a weekday, it was practically empty except for a couple of birthday parties. There were plenty of attendants both times to operate all of the amenities. Bathrooms were clean and there are tons of cubbies for shoes, etc. Also tables that can be reserved for birthday parties. I'm not sure of all the details for booking a birthday party but it looked pretty DIY; I saw people bringing in their own party supplies and food. I apparently walked into the "wrong" open area in this big warehouse style building and instead of politely letting me know he proceeded to yell " you can't be right here!" I'd like to respond to the review below. We were the parents of the party. We booked a private party for 20+ kids and when we arrived at the party the doors were locked. This party is something that is offered outside of normal business hours, and was booked for 10am. When we arrived and realized there was no one on site we called multiple numbers with no response. Only one text saying "we are working on it". No follow up. No explanation. No phone call. This was for a party we had spent a good amount of money on. We waited a full hour with still no response. I did my best to entertain restless children with cupcakes, games and so on, but we left with no communication from any staff member. We did not cancel the party due to covid or any other reason. I had confirmed via email and phone several times. At no point did anyone offer an apology or even offer a refund. Honestly, I know people make mistakes and I'm a reasonable adult and can give grace where it's due. Things happen, right? We are all human. But, better communication, an apology, a guarantee of a refund, or any of the above would've helped. My son was devastated as he had looked forward to this party for so long and was so excited to celebrate in one of his favorite places with his class. I do hope/expect that we can make this right, but i did want to clarify the details listed below. I hope this helps improve the business model for booking and communication regarding parties especially those done outside of normal business. read more

So in the past I have loved this place. Been probably a year since we last went. So now the place has half of it activities broken. Both the zip lines are down. The spinning arm that you jump over is gone, and the game trampoline that you jump and hit lighted buttons one of the 2 is broken. He immediately backed off and told his other associate 'I can't do it' and walked away. What an as*****.. then when we were jumping one of the staff members yelled at a kid from distance for just a minor mistake of sitting on the rotating ring. overall kids enjoy the rides but the staff is the key to any business. read more

First, it is slightly confusing trying to find out how to get in there if you have never been. But Surge has the potential to be a great place. My kids mostly had fun. The employees need a lot of work and some attitude adjustments. We came to celebrate a birthday (we didn't have a party, just brought a group of friends). The employees, with the exception of one girl at the counter/register (wish I knew your name - shout out to you girl!!!) didn't seem like they were there to work or be helpful in any manner. They were hanging out around the couches and such, shoving food in their faces behind the check in counter, etc. There were no employees manning any of the stations on the trampolines, the zip line, etc. (We have previously been to Sky Zone, where there are workers at every station to ensure safety and rule following). One of my kids wanted to climb on the climbing walls, and went to ask at the desk for assistance because nobody was over there. The girl was annoyed that my kid was interrupting her flirting and touching session with a coworker and stomped her feet all the way to the climbing section, pushed the door open angrily, and walked through...leaving the door to bounce back and slam into my child. Once my kid got hooked on the climbing wall this employee left her in there by herself to go back and flirt with the other worker. We had to get her attention to unhook my kid so we could leave the area. The employee came back to do so and then jumped the fence back to flirt again. Ridiculous. The same day there was a tiny child digging his way to the bottom of the foam pit while other kids were trying to play and falling in him and around him. One of my kids went to tell a group of workers (lounging and all over each other on a nearby couch) that there was a small kid way down in the pit, and the group of them just told her "he'll be fine", "he's okay", etc. My teen son had to go over and help the kid out because he was actually stuck and couldn't get himself out. There were several other things that I could add, but I think you get the gist. All in all, the kids did have fun. But if you have younger kids or expect the workers to actually do their jobs and make sure security measures are in place and enforced, don't count on it. Make sure you watch your kids and don't assume the employees with help with anything. Even my kids (a group of 5, 10-16years) said it was fun, but it would have been great if the workers had better attitudes. read more
