I went to Surge this past weekend to check it out for my son's upcoming birthday. I looked on YELP for reviews and I just had to go see in person before I booked. I arrived about 12:45 PM, the first thing I noticed is that the workers were ready to greet customers as they came in. It was clean. VR machine was down, which is OK. I immediately looked around and it was CLEAN. I went up to a group of workers asked question. They were ready to answer with a smile, which is important. I went to find a manager named Bailey and he helped me book my party. Me and my son did a test run with the $25 pass and we both had a good time and can't wait to look forward to the party. The "cashless business" model is horrible. I don't know when they changed their policy. My son wanted to bowl with some of his friends, so I took him there and stayed with him. I had to pay for all the bowling and shoe rentals with my credit card, or they wouldn't have been able to bowl. They brought money and couldn't even spend it. They're too young to have credit or debit cards. They asked me, "How do we buy food?" I said, "I guess you can't. We'll eat someplace cheaper and better when we leave." Little update since my original review was replied to: Everyone was carded. Then the manager told the lady to card everyone again. After carding us 3 separate times, the manager got the cop that stays on property to come up to us, and card whoever had an alcoholic drink. I never had one. I didn't even have my id on me cause i wasn't drinking. I explained i was the designated driver. The cop followed my husband out the building because she thought i was going to leave. read more

When they first opened we went all the time! Almost weekly, now the food is ridiculously expensive for small portions. Always missing something and now they don't have servers for thr restaurant so you have to wait in line to get things you missed from your order. Bathrooms are disgusting, bowling area is trashy when they put you in a lane, 98% of the staff is just sitting or standing around chatting and looking at people like they hate them. The games have gotten more expensive over time and you can never win anything from the machines. Will be very few and far between visits for my family. As far as their response, self serve is perfectly fine with me. But at least have servers who come by and check on you after you've gotten your food. We're in town for a tournament and our group spent a lot of money with supper and letting our girls play games. The service from the beginning was terrible. It was almost as if not a single person employed liked their job. We had to ask for our cups after ordering on the kiosk. The guy didn't seem to know where the cups were or what was even going on. We had to ask someone else for our cups after waiting on the first guy to show back up after walking to the back. A few of us ordered house salads. We got what looked like a caesar salad with half a tub of dressing and severely wilted lettuce instead. Entrees weren't made correctly. We all continued to eat because none of us wanted to cause issues. After finishing our meals we decided to let the girls play arcade games. That part was fine. When it came time to cash in our tickets the person at the ticket counter seemed as if we, the paying customer, were a bother. They had their phone in their hand the whole time. Sour face and each question was met with a vague response. I work at a restaurant as a server. I would never treat my guests this way. That's how I make my money. Even when I'm at my second job clocked in as an hourly employee and I'm having a bad day there isn't a person who sees that on my face. We will be back for another tournament soon, but we won't be back to the Surge entertainment center. We figured with Drew Brees name on the building it would've been a great experience. Walking in, there's no direction on where to go. One set of kiosks at the front for a waiver, another set of self-serve kiosks to buy a card that seems like it's only for gaming, but it's actually used for all of the other attractions. No prices or points listed on any of the attractions. Very frustrating, if it wouldn't have ruined my kids' night I would've left before we ever got started. Should have left. Laid more money for my kids to play games and the activity card can't be used for games so I lost $25 on it as well. read more

I won't spend my money here. It is a giant scam. The packages Are expensive and have time limits. The games rarely work. your kids think they are getting tickets to maybe get a prize at the end, but only if they have a certain package. It's a nothing but a scam. The location was great since it was close to the hotel. The options for kids to play is not bad. The issue really was with the service. We went to put our name on the list for a table and the girl wasn't very happy. She said it will be an hour or so and when I said ok she was super exasperated that we wanted to wait. The bartender was good! The place itself was not filthy but definitely not clean. After an hour I went to check if we were getting closer and the restaurant literally only had 2 tables of people. She came back and said she could seat us and the server would be with us eventually! Who says that?! The server was sweet but seemed rushed, not sure why since there was only one other table and a different server was helping them. We were in town for a volleyball tournament. We were debating on whether to eat here because reviews made it seem like it would be a long time. We got our food quick. We had a large group of girls and parents bowling. They waited and served us while we bowled. Food was delicious; highly advise crawfish egg rolls. Bar was backed up. My family has frequented this location for years since it has opened. The past two visits, we have been treated horribly by the staff. This time, in particular, (11/8/2024) we ordered drinks & food and then proceeded to play games, as it our daughters reward for getting straight A's on her report card. As we are enjoying games, waiting for our food, the staff CALL THE POLICE TO FIND US. Our daughter was scared to death having both of her parents pulled aside. Apparently, we are stealing our food & drinks. Every time we have ever came, there has been an open tab with no issue. I felt like being treated as an every day criminal. I visited this place while in town and it was amazing! There is something for everyone, bowling, sports simulators, laser tag, a huge arcade and even a full service restaurant with a bar for the adults! The food I had (Who Dat Shrimp) was fantastic and there's a giant screen TV to watch sports or take a break while the kids play. I could even see bringing the team from work here for a special event in the future. It would be great for just adults as well! read more

The customer service was the worst i have ever seen! we ordered our food she wrote it down and 45 mins go by and one of the waitresses comes and says that she did not enter it until 45 mins after we ordered. We came for my son's birthday a little while ago and went to laser tag. We were told by the worker at the bowling alley someone was there to work the laser tag. We made our way to laser tag and did not see anyone so we walked to the door and could clearly hear people in there but they would not come out. So I went back to the bowling alley and the young man working apologized and was so helpful and called for someone to help us. While I was gone two workers walked out of the room in laser tag and then one of them started the game for us. This is just sad, we won't be returning. read more

I stay at the Hilton Garden Inn when traveling to Monroe every year. Was pleasantly surprised by the new Surge Entertainment building. Wonderful concept...horrible service! We went when there was a large event so we tried it two nights later when it was pretty empty. We did actually get a waitress and ordered drinks and food after 30 minutes in the simulator this time. I didn't get my salad until our time was up (1 hour), and they asked me to move aside so they could get thr bay rented. Again, great concept...but they are in desperate need of some good help. What's worse is noone even pretended like they cared when we explained the issues that occurred both nights (just out of courtesy). Spent my son's spring break every day here. Absolutely the main reason for doing was because of the staff. Sure the activities is why we came but to come back day after day after day was worth it because of them. To see our son's excitement with so many things to do money was no object. You can't put a price on his enjoyment. I myself also participated and was very adult friendly. Overall the place is nice and new, but the service is HORRIBLE. The employees aren't attentive. Not to mention, they don't help you set your bowling game up, don't help you try to get balls for your game either. I'm standing at the desk waiting to be serviced, and the girl working the desk is standing there talking to another staff member. Lots of fun but very overpriced! When you have similar things in the surrounding area that don't charge nearly as much, it's hard to justify coming here for a rope course. That's about all I saw that other places don't have. Didn't try the food because they don't have good reviews yet and like everything else here...it's overpriced. This place SUCKS. All caps. The food is subpar, the service is worse, the "mixed" drinks taste pre-packaged. The games are absolute rip offs. They charge your card even when the game doesn't work. If you're not paying attention your young child may swipe their cards multiple times and use all credits on a game that is out of service. I do not recommend. Have heard lots of good about this place for their restaurant, but I'm thinking that was probably they had some drinks. Our food was pretty blah. I had the steak finger slider and I sent them back. It was supposed to have white gravy on them, but it was not gravy. It looked more like mashed potatoes, which would have been better. My wife's salad was good, but you don't really cook that . Everything else was meh. The service was pretty terrible as well. We were seated and had to wait quite some time for a waitress while we sat next to a table of 8 wait staff rolling silverware and chatting.
