Let me share my experience with you. I did my PRK over 5 years ago. It's been over 5 years, from age 32 to 37 my vision stays the same. I'm a little more sensitive to glares at night, but it doesn't bother me since I don't usually drive at night. Due to work, I have to stare at my computer for over 8hours daily. Every time I do sports or go traveling, I'm so grateful that I did the surgery. Thanks, Dr. Manche. Looking back, the process was straightforward, communication was clear. If you're reading this comment, probably you want to do the surgery but can't decide where to go. Let me tell you my story. My coworker did the same surgery at the same time with a different doctor, this doctor's commercial is everywhere, even on the radio, he also has high review on Yelp. They quoted my coworker almost $2000 cheaper. But the surgery result was very different. My coworker suffered a lot after the surgery, way more pain and red eye, when I have recovered she was still following up with the doctor because left and right eye visions were different. I feel sorry for her, but I'm so glad that I made the right decision. Stanford indeed has the best team. Go for it.

I did quite a lot of research into the risks of laser eye surgery, and Dr. Manche answered my extensive questions. Dr. Manche also has quite a reputation in the bay area, and I have no hesitation recommending him to others. You will be in great hands under his care.

It has a huge parking lot at the entrance with a drop off area . Many handicapped parking spaces are available. Each floor has a desk and staff to help you with sun protection glasses or directions . After the dilation of the ye you normally cannot see for 4-5 hours . Free sunglasses are protection for over stimulation of sunlight to your eyes after the dilation drops . There are many different doctors there for glaucoma, retina , cataracts and other types of medical conditions. The doctors and tastes are very professional and helpful . Highly recommended.

Her first appointment took over 4hrs long, and the day after her surgery, she had an appointment today and the doctor is severely behind schedule again, so she is sitting and waiting in pain. What gets me angry is the fact that the receptionists don't say anything about how behind the doctor is and when you go ask, they get upset and have a look like we are bothering them. Seating chairs are not comfortable enough for the long waiting that you have to do. This is a good facility and do great work but they need to do better when it comes to accommodating the patients and waiting area and times. It is ridiculous. The doctor does amazing work but something needs to change about the waiting, especially for someone who just had surgery.

He determined I need cataract surgery (which he no longer does), and he has been with me every step of the way to make sure he approves of the surgeon. I knew that when I made another appointment with him, but I was willing to pay more, knowing how great he is. I was actually surprised that I wasn't charged more, because he spent around 2 1/2 hours with me.

As the day went on, the pain got worse and worse till I was basically holding my eye shut and hiding from any bright lights. My boyfriend called Dr. Fishman and saw me that day. He found that I must have scratched my sclera (white part of my eye) while I was sleeping. He gave me a prescription to protect my eye from bacteria as it healed, wrapped my eye to protect it and reassured me that my eye was going to be ok. Dr. Fishman is very friendly, loves what he does, enjoys sharing his knowledge about eyes and takes time with his clients. I appreciate his professionalism and help.

I was then referred by one of my doctors to Stuart Seiff, and that was a HUGE mistake. He performed my second surgery and really mangled my face. At that point I thought to myself that the best and the brightest are going to be at Stanford. So I googled "stanford oculoplastic surgeon" and I found a true gem, Jonathan Kim. Not only did he PERSONALLY return my calls, he asked me to email him pictures of "the damage". I did so and he said that he would do the best he could. Every interaction I have had with Jonathan Kim has been positive. He is personal, prompt, professional and can I just say that his stitches are even more impressive than a sewing machine. His incisions are just as precise. He just performed his second surgery on me last Monday and while I have not healed yet, I am very optimistic that this could be the last surgery for this problem. Before I start on the review I want to give the reader a little bit of background on my eye…read moresituation as well as some general info. I am generally healthy, 50ish male, who developed diplopia with no underlying cause (this apparently happens in a small percentage of people). I struggled to find good care for 1.5 years trying to get the problem diagnosed and treated. Fortunately my wife learned of Dr. Nyong'o via a strabismus subreddit! My experience with Dr. Nyong'o and his team at Crescendo MD (Amanda and Sal) was excellent. Before seeing Dr. Nyong'o, I spent over a year and a half in vain seeing or trying to see specialists to get my diplopia corrected - I wish I had known about Dr. Nyong'o sooner. His team provided me with excellent care and were available to answer all my questions and concerns as they arose. They will happily spend the time needed with a patient so that the patient has all the information they want or need to make informed decisions. This allowed me to have 100% confidence in him and his team as we proceeded toward strabismus surgery. The timeline from the initial appointment to actually having strabismus surgery was quite expedient (about 5 weeks). The surgical facility they use was excellent and is close to his office. The anesthesiologist for the surgery followed the trend of excellence of Dr. Nyong'o and his team - knowledgeable, communicative, and empathetic. The whole team has excellent bedside manors and is clearly an empathetic group. Post surgery follow up was straight forward and scheduling was easy (very unusual for a doctors office these days). I feel as if I can't say enough good things about this experience. I am now about 6 months post surgery with zero diplopia and I am back to being a fully functional human again. I also want to point out how straight forward the pricing and billing was - there are no surprise bills or anything like that here. In general everything is spelled out to the patient in a multitude of understandable ways. Most importantly I can see like a normal human again. I cannot thank Dr. Nyong'o or his team enough.
