He is so helpful, nice & sweet to Men, and does an excellent job. His favorite is "Surf and Turf"...performing the Alcon brand Vivity in one eye, and Alcon brand PanOptix in the other eye. But you can request one type in both eyes, if you wish. The problem is that he isn't nice to Women, from reading the online reviews....and talking to two female friends who had Cataract Surgery from him...but both had Lasik surgery a few years beforehand, which made the Cataract Surgery much more complicated and less successful. I'd never had surgery from him.

I felt lucky to get an appointment with Dr Liu, just a few days after calling his office - due to a cancellation, and was able to schedule my cataract surgery less than 4 weeks later. From the first time I met Dr Liu, I felt like he was a kind and caring doctor, who listened to me and answered all of my questions. I was also impressed by all the technicians there, and ease of scheduling all of my appointments in advance. Over the last 6-1/2 weeks, I had my LAL cataract surgery on both eyes, two adjustments in right eye and one adjustment in left eye, and did my second and final lock in two days ago. The front desk staff was incredibly rude and showed zero respect for our time. Both the staff and Dr. Fung told us it was "not their problem" and just blamed my PCP. If authorization is required, why on earth did they schedule the appointment without verifying it first? They wasted our time, didn't even offer an apology, and acted like it was no big deal.I've been to other clinics before, and if the authorization doesn't go through, they simply don't book the appointment. That's basic professionalism. Here? They just let you show up and then turn you away. Reading the other one-star reviews, it's clear this is a pattern -- constant complaints about the unprofessional front desk and the same dismissive attitude. Dr. Fung seems to run this small clinic with zero regard for patients. Don't bother booking here unless you want to take the day off work just to be turned away at the counter. They know what they're doing and they do it well. In my case I was admitted at 6:30am, led back to a gurney, various eye drops were inserted, IV inserted, last minute consult with doctor and then anesthesiologist then whisked back to operating room. I was partially awake - I could see what was happening and respond to questions but I wasn't really aware. No pain or anxiety. After what seemed like 2 minutes, but really 15?, I was out the door to recovery. I was asleep for a bit and when I woke up they helped me to the car picking me up. I was going home after 8am. Everyone I interacted with was great. They answered my last minute questions and made me feel like successful surgery was important to them. Great service!

Basic answer - it's rare that something goes wrong but if it does we don't want you to have two eyes possibly damaged. Made a lot of sense to me. I was back in the office a few days later to have my eyes measured with different machines to identify the best lens for my eyes. I was a bit apprehensive about the first surgery but it wasn't scary at all. Second eye done two weeks later. Follow up next day after each surgery and then again 1 week later. The results have been amazing. Everything is so much clearer, brighter and less yellow. So glad I had this done. She is quick and talks fast. Sometimes I would end up waiting longer to see her than my appointment itself in the beginning which annoyed me at first, but I don't leave feeling like I didn't get enough out of her and that's what's important. She is very warm and personable, remembers things about my personal life and shows genuine care. She has not only helped me lose weight but has gone out of her way to maximize my results and tailor everything to my needs, and in a way that I don't feel things are being "sold" to me. On the contrary, she has gone out of her way to get more affordable options for me. She is as much my hype person as she is my doctor. I've lost 40 lbs healthily under her care since October and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. All of the Avita MD staff from the front desk to nurses are all very kind too.
