Soakology is a small spa and cafe in Portland, Maine, they primarily offer foot massage, foot…read moresoaks, full-body massage, and fair trade teas. They also have a small gift shop too, where they sell housemade spa salt cubes and lotions. You need to make a reservation for spa services here. I visit a lot of these types of places. I was surprised at how different Soakology was compared to most of my other experiences. We were taken to a large communal space which was divided into semi-private rooms made from dark curtains, and the lights are down low. They ask for no phones, and quiet. I sat in a raised arm chair and they wheel in a copper tub under us, that they filled with hot water and whatever scented salt cube you choose. The soaks range in price from $35 to $53, depending on which scented salt cube you pick. I choose the CBD (to attempt to make up for my lack of massage, $53). They came and refilled our hot water in the tub twice, and refilled our tea water. We visited on a warm day, and I image this service would be a staple for me in winter. I left sweating! I have inflammatory arthritis, and it did helped me to soak. Anyhow, the experience surpassed my expectations in terms of relaxation. When we left my feet were like 75% relaxed, which is not bad. I could do this all at home at a fraction of the cost, but there is something more luxurious about not having to set up, and clean up. If you are in Portland, check them out!

It definitely did help the pain that I was experiencing in my foot. However, I felt like it was really challenging for it to be just right because sometimes it was too hot and then it would cool down. Service Needed some work and could've been better. The latte that I got was really good. It was kind of sweet for a chai latte but not bad.

Every part of my experience (from the intake to the massage itself, to the time afterwards) was infused with care and purpose that made the massage truly special and healing. Courtney took the time to understand my current situation with my body and provided guidance on other things aside from massage she thought might be helpful to me. I left feeling completely relaxed body, mind, and soul, and will definitely be returning!

Our son had some trauma to his neck which lead to multiple swellings of lymph nodes. Once doing my own personal research while visiting Maine I realized I needed someone who specialized in lymphatic drainage for children. I found Courtney off Google and had a strong vibe about her. Our first session with our son was more than we expected. She was so calm and attentive to his needs. Explaining every procedure and how it would feel. My son loved every moment of it and we instantly saw the relief she was providing. We returned for a second round a week later to continue the flow. My sons energy had changed drastically and all of his lymph nodes had dramatically reduced. This made my worried heart warm and relaxed. Not only did her knowledge and gentle hands cure my son, but she also educated us on how to continue the work at home manually. Before we departed back to LA my husband and I had some work done of our own. Man, such a relief! Hands down the best release of tight muscles, stress and blockage she gave. I truly wish we could find another "Courtney" out here in LA, but there is only one and we already miss her. My son especially! I highly recommend Courtney for physical imbalances within your body. Especially for children who need special attention and someone who understands how much their little bodies can endure. She is certified for Lymphatic Drainage and that is hard to find. Thank you so much Courtney you truly touched our lives, got us back on that positive/healing path and we are forever grateful! See you this winter!

In a basement with very low-lighting and little windows. Went in for a couples massage and we had to go one after the other. They said because they didn't have two masseuses the price would be discounted but we ended up paying more than the listed price on the door. The massage experiences was terrible as well. The lady walked in on me while changing and didn't leave the room and watched me change. I got on the bed with a towel and underwear on and she ripped the towel and underwear off of my body. She never asked before hand if I was comfortable with this and I was extremely nervous. The masseuse got ON TOP of the bed with me and straddled my naked body with her legs and i was very uncomfortable. I was never asked for a massage preference and it was very rough and unpleasant. When leaving a tip for the receipt the lady was very weird about me signing it. I attempted to pick the receipt up to look at it and she kept her hand pressed on it so she could watch me write the number for a tip. I tipped very well. As soon as I was done she took the paper and examined it and looked at me like I had not tipped enough. EXTREMELY BAD EXPERIENCE. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
