One of the biggest things for us was accessibility and responsiveness when deciding to hire any vendor. Niraj always responded to our emails in a timely fashion and was available via phone if we needed anything. He showed up on time to all of the events and was profesional. But this was not the case at all with Latoya! She came to our home and was fully prepared to gear it out into a nice little photo studio within minutes. We were able to quickly focus on having fun as a family for the pictures in our own living room, which was the whole point. From our initial consult, to our…read morecommunication leading up to the event, to our experience on the day and the price we paid, I couldn't be happier with our choice of photographer. Chris did a great job of getting to know my wife and I before our ceremony date. He met with us to discuss what we wanted and to get a feel for our personality as a couple. We were a bit apprehensive before meeting him because neither my wife or I are very comfortable in front of a camera, but he really put us at ease, making us feel confident that we wouldn't feel overly pressured or "directed" working with him. Chris was very accommodating to work with, agreeing to a few different last-minute schedule changes when we decided we needed more time for pre-ceremony pictures. With only 90 minutes before our ceremony, he worked very fast to take a bunch of creative photos in different locations we'd chosen around town, getting us to the "church" with plenty of time to spare. He was also great at finding unique angles from which to photograph the ceremony (stealthily creeping around so we never even noticed him), dealing with our disorganized families to get group shots of everyone before the reception started, and capturing all the guests and big moments during the reception itself. The biggest thing I can say is that Chris listened to what my wife and I wanted and delivered! This is a strong contrast to our engagement session with a different (more expensive) photographer, which was overly staged and harried and resulted in "nice" pictures that nevertheless don't feel like "us." We are a laid back couple and had a very low-key wedding (no wedding party, few traditional elements), and Chris did an excellent job adapting to our personalities. In reference to the very negative review posted earlier, I can only say that we experienced no communication issues with Chris or his wife. Our photos were delivered to us more or less in the timeframe promised, and I appreciate that he gives you an entire disc of pictures rather than just a selected few.

I bought a living social deal last December thinking it would be awesome to have shots done with my…read morechildren and I in the Chicago winter and then life got in the way. My kids were sick most of the winter, it did not snow until it was February and WAY to cold to be outside for pictures so I did not even try to make an appointment until spring. When I did I had to work around my kids' sports schedules, their time with their dad and of course the photographer's schedule as well. We settled on a date that was outside the window but he graciously extended it. Fast forward 4 weeks, it was raining and has been raining for several days. We had to reschedule, again given our busy schedules we finally set a date about 5 weeks out. The morning of the photo shoot, it was overcast and looked like it was going to rain even though the forecast said nothing about rain but I waited and waited and just as it was time for the shoot the skies cleared up and the sun came out. Our photo shoot was at 6, so I was tired from a long day of work and the kids school but Christopher was great. He was able to get a ton of amazing shots. The photos took a little longer than expected to be received but after reviewing them they were well worth the wait. THEY ARE FANTASTIC!!

That was where the positives stopped. The contract allows 90 days after the wedding for the video to be completed. We are now well over 100 days with no response to multiple emails and calls. Unfortunately we may end up with no wedding video and a trip to small claims court in an attempt to get our money back. Avoid at all costs.

My wife and I have beautiful photos from our special day that we'll share for the rest of our lives. If it's within your budget, I definitely recommend having both Katherine and Jason as photographers. Katherine was able to follow my wife and her bridesmaids, while Jason stayed with me and my groomsmen. They went beyond my initial expectations for a photographer team. They even came prepared with breath mints, handkerchiefs, and other last minute essentials for the entire bridal party. While Katherine was doing group photo shoots after our ceremony, Jason made a special trip to bring me and my wife champagne and appetizers, so we wouldn't fully miss out on the cocktail hour. It is many years later and I can honestly say she ruined our wedding. I have zero pictures of the…read morering bearer , many guests and family members who escorted people in church. We had to pay to retake our photos at Holy Name and the Drake. She claimed the church told her she couldn't take pictures. They said it wasn't true. I had special monogrammed desserts at our rehearsal dinner and we got zero pictures of the monograms. Many of my friends had videos or images where she was just standing around. It's honestly very sad because it was the most important day of our lives. She refused to refund us and then was mad so didn't give us a wedding album. We did, however, like how our wedding video. Every session--whether it's been a milestone moment or one of those "off" days where the kids aren't exactly in the mood--she somehow manages to find the magic and capture the heart of our family perfectly. The preview gallery was terrific - there's not a single photo that we don't like. Can't wait to see the final edits! Before the photo session, Maija made several great recommendations of the locations based on the types of looks I'm looking for. During the photo session, she suggested different things we can do and made our 13mo giggles a lot, despite the fact he wasn't feeling great since that morning. After the photo session, she quickly put together a preview gallery for us to look at. Another plus is the fee structure she has. It was broken into two parts - a session fee and image & print package. I really like the idea that I can choose the amount of prints after I see the preview gallery. Of course we purchased the whole package since everything was perfect.
