We went here to check out a new local place and we were fortunate enough to get there and grab one of the 3 seating areas to enjoy our delicious sushi. The couple that owns this is extremely friendly, and they serve very fresh sushi. I ordered a Sashimi plate which would have been $20, but the woman taking my order told me to take a look at the Sashimi plate in the take out section that they just finished making - it was fresh and saved me $4 so I grabbed it to sate my hunger while we waited for the rest of our meal. The only parking I saw was metered street parking, but the shop is right at the metro exit, so it is great for commuters using the Ballston Metro stop or visitors staying at the Hilton Arlington! Wow this little place! I am not going to give this place a five stars because there are sooo many little things (besides the food) that are so wrong. That being said, yelp is primarily about food reviews, so here we go... Today is a Thursday before Memorial weekend so it's an odd day. I read an article on ArlingtonNow about this place and checked the few yelp reviews, they were all so positive, so of course I had to give it a go. I stopped in around 6pm and there was close to 10 customers already waiting and a steady flow coming in and out. I ordered two California rolls, a salmon cucumber roll, a yellowtail roll, and a specialty roll with lobster (this was all for two very hungry people btw). I waited close to 20+ min before my food was ready.... If I had to go to work tomorrow I would have been freaking out about how long it took (because it is a 2-go place), but I am off, so today is my easy "Friday" evening! Anyway, they had one super over worked sushi chef and a cute super duper nice and relatable lady at the register who periodically backs up the sushi chef.... I know, I know, I am ranting... Sorry! Now to the food: I got home and dove right in! Everything was absolutely delicious!!! It's not the greatest but it is by far no where near any of the worst I've had. It's great solid everyday sushi!!! Plus it's relatively inexpensive. Everything that I ordered came to $26 even!!! That is ridiculous!!! BTW, my fav place in the area is Endo Sushi (that place is da bomb, but pricy and a tiny hike from Ballston!).... This is walking distance and a close second to Endo! My suggestions to the owner: 1) Paint that place white and put brighter lights up so everyone can see it from the street. Or remove the window tint. You must be visible and look clean!!! 2) rearrange your space. Push the sushi bar back and use more of back area space and put some tables in. Remove all the drink cases and oddly placed display tables. They are not necessary at all. 3) get at least one more sushi chef so you have two at all times. The lady at the register is way too precious and should stay at the register and talk to customers. She shouldn't have to run back-and-forth and keep prepping food. Cooks/chefs do that! She really made the experience worthwhile 4) get better soy sauce and be more heavy handed with the wasabi. I barely got anything. And the packet soy sauce you have was not pleasant. Thank goodness I had some kikoman at home. I will definitely go back to this place a whole lot and hope everyone shows this place some love! I want this place to succeed! I love that there's a quick sushi place near my place. Even though this place is tiny, they're surprisingly quick and they always have special rolls to go already prepared. You can also easily tell what specials are going on that day. Y the sign outside their door. The Korean lady at the register is also super efficient. Yum! So excited that there are more Asian options in Arlington nowadays. Sushi 2 go is a much needed addition. I've ordered the angel hair specialty roll (imitation crab, avocado, shrimp tempura and cream cheese), eel and avocado roll, and seaweed salad. All were fresh and delicious, and reasonably priced. I am not a huge sushi fan but the angel hair roll was so delicious that I will definitely be frequenting this place, especially if the other options are as tasty. It is a takeout place but the quality and presentation was a step above any of the other sushi takeouts in the area (and the sushi tasted better than some of the sit-down restaurants I've been to). Really good - fresh and fast. I love stopping by here to pick up dinner on my way home, right after I exit the metro. The cashier is a funny and sweet older woman. They have a relatively good selection of drinks including mango and melon yogurt drinks which are really refreshing. I get something different every time and I'm never disappointed. Their specialty rolls are the best - I wish they had a happy hour after work so I could pick up more, but they do have a good lunch special. It's very easy for a meal of one specialty roll and one regular roll to be 25 bucks with tax which I think is a little expensive when I'm doing dinner. At the same time, the sushi is so good compared to the other options in the area that it's worth it. The Super Alaska Roll, the King Tuna, and the Spicy Tuna are my go-tos - but their eel and salmon bowls are fantastic as well. The only thing which I don't love is their miso soup - but it doesn't matter, cause I don't need to buy it. Their import catalogs are pretty extensive as well if you ever end up sitting around in their shop to see where they order from. All in all a great spot. read more

This place is located right next to the Ballston metro. As well, if you're driving up - there are several parallel spots on Fairfax drive. The restaurant itself is cute and clean. It seems like a husband and wife duo (which I enjoy seeing). My sushi tasted great and it was exactly as I ordered. Do know that the regular rolls are 6 pieces (as noted on the menu). The place is a tiny hole in the wall where you can get (hold on, you won't believe it....) sushi 2 go! Prices were cheap! $4 for simple rolls and $7-8 for special rolls. The rice was stickier than what I'm used to but the fish was great for what you pay.... it's a steal! I was the only one there but the sushi guy was expedient and I was out of there in under ten minutes just $11 poorer. The pieces are generously sized and considering you can pay the same amount at Whole Foods for very mediocre sushi, I'd say, this is awesomeness! Again, the place is tiny. There are no tables, so you really will want to take it to go. Although if you really wanted to eat there, there are maybe three chairs that edge the room with a wall bar. read more

This review is only for their weekday lunch. It's a great deal. I got 2 salmon avocado rolls and the spicy tuna avocado roll and a miso soup for $13.50. These rolls had pretty big portions of fish in them which is always important for me. Sometimes you go to sushi places and they give you a piece of fish the size of a fingernail while charging you $8. Not here. Also the spicy tuna is actually quite spicy which I really liked. I'm not giving it 5 stars because they don't have much seating (and I don't live within walking distance) and they don't have low sodium soy sauce. Great hole in the wall find with very friendly service. The owners opened up shop about 5 months ago and so far looks like their friendliness is winning over customers. It was a rainy Saturday late afternoon and we were looking for a quick bite to eat, nothing too fancy but still decent sushi and yelp led us to sushi2go. Parking was ok since it was the weekend but I can imagine it being harder during the week-- so probably best to metro it here if you can. You can probably seat about 5-7 ppl so definitely don't plan to dine in with a large group. It was the 3 of us and we fit into a tiny corner. The owners were super gracious and told us about their specials (refrigerated sashimi platter is a bit cheaper and still made that day) as compared to a build your own. The miso soup is almost all you can eat- there is a big pot there that you self serve but I think the limit is 2-3 bowls. We ordered 1 sashimi platter with mostly salmon, 1 refrigerated sashimi platter, a red dragon special roll and a spicy tuna roll. Total was about $68 but we all left feeling pretty full. Owners were super nice and made us hot green tea as well though it's not currently offered in the menu. I would definitely come back if in the area. I went to Sushi 2 Go tonight for a quick dinner that I could take back to my hotel room. With all the fantastic reviews, I had pretty high expectations. When I walked in just before 8 PM, it was pretty empty, so there wasn't a wait. They made my sushi quickly (a rainbow roll and a super alaska roll), and when I looked at the rolls, they looked fantastic! However, once I tried them, the alaska roll tasted funny. The quality was really awful, I got the maryland which has soft shell crab that was oily, dry, and has a very bad taste. And the crab meat roll with masago comes almost with no masago. Much to my surprise there are three tables outside the door of the restaurant in the atrium area of the building.
